Another topic on lurms, just what this forum needs. How many pages is this one going to get to.

The whiney post at the start was bad, the OP displaying Death Star achievement which we all know could not have gotten legitimately is even worse.

Who cares, really.

Read thecother thread.

Other than being a necro, imo no one hated on the lurmer. "Get your own locks" is a perfectly valid response that the lurmtato took badly.

Out of the two parties, its clear that the lurmer was the one being a passive aggressive ******

Because it's always frustrating when you bring 100% and someone on your team brings 30% while saying "hey, my feet hurt alreasy, you guys need to carry me." Yes, there's a lot of bad builds, weapons and decisions people can bring. LRMs are just the really obvious ones so when someone has been getting sandbagged out every match for a week and they snap it's likely on the obvious LRM guy. The "but I'm a 733t Snyper!!11!" is just as likely to lose you the match, they're just usually not as obvious.

I try to help the LRMer learn... I despise the "733t Snyper!!11!" with my whole being, I was talking so much $hit on one in the last game that someone else said that he was going to report me. the Assualt mech hiding in the back at 100% in close game talking about "but I am in range" sinks so many games by not sharing armor and helping cause target confusion.

The joke is that you don't think it's a joke build.

LRM Atlas and LRM King Crab are probably the worst offenders but the LRM80 EBJ isn't too far behind.

I played LRMs a lot. NS guys can tell you this. Heck my sig still has my favorite mech in Battletech. I was never one to use them at 1000M I was always up with the front line guys. I was always getting my own locks. I was always dummy firing when I couldn't get locks on spots in front of charging mechs. I've even tanked in a C4. While my teammates killed the guys going for the LRM boat. Bad players are bad players. Playing the mech as part of a team it can be very useful, especially if you're right there next to the guys brawling at 190M. Because the guy is complaining about some LRM boat 800m out when it's really right there in its face. LRMS aren't a pin point weapon, but can weaken armor that needs to be. Can also finish off mechs that run.

Berating people in an already low population game making people quit because of a toxic community is like cutting your own throat.

There is never a reason to berate another player. Full stop. Even if he's TKed someone or whatever. Sure, report him and let him get sorted out but there's just no reason to be a ****.

Unless you're dropping against Kurita. Damn Snakes. **** those guys. Posted Image

Actually, if the LRMers got all the KMDDs, it would be a lot easier to get a Death Star achievement.

Man, I love topics like this.

Maybe I should start Teamkilling LRM boats, just to see more topics reenacting this one.

I don't hate the weapon system, I hate the behavior it encourages in people that try to use them at long range, when they're not even effective past 400m due to the garbage travel time.

More specifically, I hate that all the armor with those lurms is completely untouched, and that player ends up with sub 200 damage because they were away from the fight all game. "Must be because no one held locks!!!!" they cry to themselves.

Bah. Shoutout to those lurm boaters that use them like mid range streaks, and share their armor here and there. I wish there were more of you.

L33Ts don't like it because they complain about how poor the weapon is, and how little the LRM player contributes, we lost the game because of Sh*T LRM assault players is usually the biggest whine.

While also complaining about the people that use it, because it's easy mode, if it's easy why so low a score.

Also the supposed good shots can't show off their madskillz in anything but optimal conditions and screen shake prevents that.

(this is also why and same sad four maps show up time and time again)

Using an LRM boat badly is easy mode, using one properly, is just like using any DPS build, but it's no worse than the assault at the back sniping, not sharing armour, and then coming here and telling everyone how wonderful they are, because the carried so hard.

You are wrong.Terribly so. It isn't "leet" to point out flawed or broken weapon systems which are generally ineffective. LRM heavy teams lose almost every single match in QP and in FP when faced off against direct fire oriented teams. This isn't even in minor dispute. Direct fire and high energy alpha which requires timing, position and aiming crush groups with 2 or more LRM boats nearly every time. Experienced players use this thing called cover and frankly so many mechs have ECM that obtaining locks can often be a chore. Sniper groups and LPL ranged groups along with brawl teams (which almost don't exist in QP) rely on sharing armor. LRM boats largely cannot share armor and most often take it hard from roving lights as the LRM boat is out of position.

The mixed role of LRM / other weapons is a nice idea and if player controlled aiming wasn't in play would work great. While you did 1400 damage and 1 / 2 kills I used my 534 damage of focused fire to kill 4 to 6 mechs. You cannot aim LRMs just like you cannot aim SSRMs which is what make SRMs >> than SSRM unless you are saturating a light mech with SSRMs.

LRMs do work to great effect against unskilled players. Against inexperienced players and in the lower tiers. Tier 1 and higher US evening time you can forget it. Day time US time LRMs often have a role. Lower tier matches LRMs have a role. So maybe you are not so wrong but merely play the game from a different perspective than the better more experienced players do.

Oh c'mon. The analogy was apt. I laughed when I saw it and even took a screenshot for originality.

I think like racism, LRMphobia is a learn behaviour.

LRM are anti-noob weapons, everyone started as a noob in the game.
Likely they get rained on in early part of their MWO life, and have learn to hate it.
Some player grow up and grew past it, while some hang on that hate into adult MechWarriorhood. Posted Image

Racism? lol, I think you mean elitism.

Rockets aren't a race, nor is the distinction of their ranges.
