I've noticed more and more lately that if you say "GG" or "thanks for the match" etc and they just hurl abuse back at you? (PUGs that is).

I mean, REALLY?

I apologize for the poor form by one of our members. He should know better and for the record, I will support any banning, booting, or muting while in your channels that is a result of this activity. In fact, I would encourage you to do that. You should be able to drop in peace within your own channel and I would hold no grudges for you taking appropriate actions.

Also, you are correct, I would not appreciate a KCom rumor thread. We are just here to play this game and have fun, that is all. Some of our members are a bit more vocal than others on the forums and as long as they keep it polite and professional, I won't say anything.

WTF is PR? sounds like a bunch of hooey to me...

Stop shooting me Mischief...it's making Lovas happy and we can't have that...almost sounds like a bit of PRPosted Image

I am pretty sure you are joking around but to be clear, no apology necessary. No bannings or muting is reqired on our end Posted Image If you really do feel bad you can stop killing me...it always seems to be you killing me. Pick on Javin, or Hobbles, or anyone else but me!

PR is a bunch of hooey - but you gotta take care of that rep!

**EDIT**
Things I missed in my talking points post https://mwomercs.com...st__p__5764821:
1) Don't say "GG" cause that makes you an elitist pig
2) Don't say "Thanks for the match" cause that makes you an elitist pig
3) Don't mention build options or offer ANY advice to pugs during a match or in these forums...cause you're an elitist pig
4) Don't not say anything...cause you guessed it....it makes you an elitist pig
5) Don't win a match. Because that makes you an elitist pig!

I was serious...it kinda pisses me off when people come into our channels and start talking right out of the gate without seeing if we are in a drop or not. Basic etiquette should tell you to wait 5-10 secs before saying anything and then you should ask it the people there are in a drop or not. It's cool that you are laid back about it, I just wanted to let you know that I am all good if you decide you need to achieve silence and take action to get it. :) oh, and no, sorry, not going to stop killing youPosted Image. I don't do it on purpose, you just tend to be the guy closest to my guns. May be hard to see, but that is supposed to be a complement.

Yea, read it and disagreed with it. Wasn't going to say anything about it though as it's be hashed over many times but you got all snarky with Ash here and I happen to like Ash, so here we go again.

Saying "gg" at the end of a 48-0 absolute stomp fest is not poor sportsmanship, it's not elitist and it's not rubbing it into people's faces. This is something that you learn as a child. At the end of a match, you shake the opponents hand and say "good game". People who get upset about me saying "gg" (which I don't do anymore because of al the idiotic whining, I say "07") need to just grow up. Now, if you say ggclose, or that was easy or any other kind of nonsense, I can see taking offense to it but saying "gg" is me telling another human being that I recognize and respect that fact that they put in an honest effort to do the best they could and deserve to be recognized for that effort. Taking offense to it is poor sportsmanship and being a sore loser. If you don't want someone to tell you "gg", don't play in a competitive environment, i.e. don't play any game that involves competing against another human. Play games that only pit you against yourself or a computer, then you can gg yourself when you feel it's appropriate and hope that the programmers of the game you are playing solo don't think it's a good thing to say gg at the end of a match...on second thought, best just play with yourself.

Kcom aint that bad. Even when they are actually trying and you only have complete pugs on your side, you can still edge out some ok damage and a handful of kills. Sure I would love to always get contract bonuses, but it can be fun trying to go all die hard against stacked teams.

I don't care how much of a stomp the game was, it is always ok to say gg.

1) Don't say "GG" cause that makes you an elitist pig

It really means Git Gud.

2) Don't say "Thanks for the match" cause that makes you an elitist pig

That's to the blue team.

3) Don't mention build options or offer ANY advice to pugs during a match or in these forums...cause you're an elitist pig

*Hint* if your team legs you, you're bringing the wrong build.

4) Don't not say anything...cause you guessed it....it makes you an elitist pig

I usually make fun of them until they do.

5) Don't win a match. Because that makes you an elitist pig!

It's not about winning, it's about sending a message.

that message is pugs go back to quick play.
take your stupid quick play maps with you.

In peewee sports (since I guess that's the analogy we're going with here) they also have such as mercy rules, and generally change or reduce teams if one side is crushing the other.

Because sane people who're involved in peewee sports realize that the goal is for everyone to have a good time playing the game, not provide an outlet for one group to prove to themselves precisely how superior they are to the other.

Based on posts by members in other threads kcom's attitude is evidently rather the opposite of that, so it's pretty disengenuous to cry sportsmanship when you get called out for trolling a team you crushed

Mercy rules for kids sports...... exactly right.... however....

There is no mercy rule in NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA.

FP is the big leagues for MWO (enter the much lauded entry banner). We are not making athletes here. We are playing at the top level.

Your analogy is based on a false premise.

We can have good sportsmanship and crush the opposition. Happens all the time in the big leagues. Welcome to them.

Imagine a pro football team... taking a knee mid game and running some fundamental drills with a team that is getting whooped.... LOL.

I'm not sure who the people talking about KCom are, but they generally are very sportsmanlike during and after a match. The members I run into the most are all good guys, he'll after a match against them a few weeks ago I pooped into their TS and gave them **** (in a good natured way) for walking downslipe under our Atlas' torso mounts. It was rather amusing, even though we lost. If they aren't in a drop or discussing strategy they are good people to shoot the **** with or ask advice from. Don't let random comments color your view.

But they aren't gentlemen. Gentlemen rules of Queensbury against my Atlas and don't walk under me so I shoot air. ;)

Got a mantel full of participation trophy's do you?

Sportsmanship and the "mercy" rules just teach kids that I don't have to work hard to get better, I can just be there and get the same as someone that worked his *** off to get better at whatever sport they are competing in.

I dont know who you are, but I have dropped with KCom for a few months and know them from personal experience. KCom is a class act. People who deal with them know it. I dont know who these other people are who are saying different. More than likely these other people disparaging Kell's guys are the bad sports. When you lose you tell the other guy good game, shake his hand and cowboy up.

I don't think any pee wee aged kids are playing this game. Granted, I'm pretty sure I could teach my 6 year old daughter to play and she could probably stomp a good 50% of the player population

Maybe MWO needs a pee-wee league. Every time you kill an enemy mech, a friendly mech dies. That way all games end in a tie.

I can not imagine anything more insulting than being a grown adult playing a game of any sort against other adults and having them use peewee sports rules to coddle me.

Nobody I play with in KCom has any interest in trolling people we've beaten - or lost to. Just wouldn't happen. We're mostly older guys (like the games population) and are here to play and have fun in a competitive game. Which this is - it's all competition. Two teams of 12 trying to win. End of the match, win or lose, you shake the other guys hand, say good game and move on to the next one.

That's how we want to be treated so that's how we treat others. It would feel incredibly contemptuous to put kid gloves on and try to sooth hurt feelings over a game.

There seems to be a constant need to "otherize" good units and good players.

It can't possibly be the case that they're just normal dudes and gals who happen to be good at a freakin' video game, no, clearly there's something different and nefarious about them. Probably all a bunch of drug-abusing, puppy-kicking trolls, nihilists and sadists at best. They probably haven't had fun in this game since 2014--they only log on to sap the fun out of everyone else. They rate their builds less on Killing Efficiency and more on Misery Inducement. Pat probably runs a Masters-level (sekrit) clinic, Advanced Fun Destruction 501. He can tell when you're smiling, and he'll send his minions right over to put an end to it.

Pat Kell also has discovered the cure for playing SearchWarrior Online when you're waiting forever for a match.

He'll step out for a smoke, and INSTANTLY, we'll get a match! He'll return JUST in time as our feet are hitting the ground!

Seriously, it happens each and every time. XD
