Pugs don't like CW.

Units do like CW.

Honestly I'm sick of this ****. Good players get good by putting in the time and effort to be there. They experiment with stuff like the skill nodes and invest time and money and effort to be there. They expend effort to help players who show that they want to be better. If your not willing to join a team than you at least better put in the time to run the best possible effiecency on your mechs or your going to get rolled. Good teams are good because they value the idea of teamwork and surround themselves with other people who are good as well. So put your big boy pants on and get out there And build a team from the ground up. If your not willing to improve your mechs and not willing to work with others prepare for mediocre game play.

it isn't organized groups fault that the game mode causes them to face pubs and stomp them (or that the incentives make this an effective way to farm.) It isn't realistic to expect players in units to just not drop together.

that doesn't mean org vs pub isn't a big part of what the problem is

there is fun to be had in pub vs pub and org vs org cw matches; an organized group crushing a pub isn't really fun for anybody and in a sane world there'd be a matchmaker that would prevent (or at least minimize) that kind of thing.

adding a group queue style tonnage reduction to large groups' drop decks might be an easy enough partial solution for PGI to implement, I dunno

That's what QP is for, we already have tonnage differences between IS and Clan as it is.

I think arguments like this are why leadership gets gray hairs. Posted Image

Meanwhile, I'll stand by my original argument.

Rather than scream at KCom for its capabilities, its consistent performance, and rather than accusing it of "elitism" (whereas you can just look at the leaderboards to see how we're doing), why not drop alongside KCom? See what we're about?

Or is dropping with a major team inconsistent with the argument of defiance that playing in a team is considered "easy mode," or somehow involves surrendering autonomy or identity? Would people rather lose by themselves than win with a team?

Teamspeak Address: na1.mech-connect.net

Come drop with Kell's Commandos-learn what the unit is about before pointing the finger at us and placing blame upon the teams for playing the game the way it has been designed.

Was it PGI's intent to have teams dominate Faction Warfare? Who knows?

But it's the result of what PGI has produced.

Adapt. Overcome. Survive. Win.

Now come drop with us!

Can't believe this thread is still going strong. Let's see if I am following all the talking points:

-Some folks are frustrated with CW
-Apparently KCom is the only unit out there that folks hate (poor form guys - develop a PR department to win the hearts and minds of the pugs)
-KCom is being blamed for designing CW (shame on you guys)
-KCom is being blamed for not playing CW the "Correct" way (double shame on you guys - wait...didn't you design the game mode??)
-KCom doesn't hand out flowers to the pugs on the other team (triple shame on you guys)
-KCom likes to play as a team in a team based game (double facepalm shame)
-Pat gets angry at being blamed for the failure of CW (noted - don't piss off pat)
-Mischief likes to TK Pat (thumbs up from me)
-Commander A9 is attempting to invite pugs to play with KCom and get that special "KCom experience" (good initiative. Although, if I may warn potential puggels, Commander tends to get pretty loud on TS and will spout off stuff that will make you scratch your head - so just be prepared for that)

Am I missing anything?

I think all the guys in KCom are decent fellows. Fun to play with, more fun to play against. Their biggest failure is their rep - man you guys need to work on that. Assign someone as your propaganda minister, flood the masses with your....what ever it is you guys have...and get some flower dekals on your mechs.

That is all.

I was a little chatty until Pat told me to shut up. XD

Kinda working on that still... Posted Image

Don't make me start a 'KCom Rumors" thread like the old MercStar rumors thread used to be a thing!

Maybe it should be "Big Units Rumors" thread...like how the big units lure pugs into CW with the promise of manliness and mech bays, then beat the ever-loving snot out of them and laugh at them!

I don't know if its possible to have a good reputation in Kcom:
I say things like "good fight" and "well fought" and I get hurled insults for being a ****
I ask someone about the engine size they put in their jenner and I'm told that I shouldt gloat after stomping someone's face in
I say "The King Crab is very vulnerable to side torso destruction, I advise against using an XL" and get told to go **** myself.
Hell, I even decided to stop talking at all and pugs will still say I'm a poor sport despite having never touched the T key for the entire match.

I've just learned that pugs are gonna pug, and I just need to be polite as possible, but never be afraid to step on someone's toes when giving critique.
If it makes anyone feel better, I agreed that I can be TK'd by an officer or the closest Kcom ally if I overstep my bounds, even if I don't think I did.

You say it's a good game when it ended around 48-47, or when you lost and feel happy about it, or when the enemy team lost and says it's a good game : You don't say it's a good game when your side won by a landslide, because that makes you a look like a ****, specially if your side was made of a grouped unit.

Your fault there.

A re-branding is in order. Recommend something softer, more accessible, Kitten Cuddlers, KCUD.

Yea, remember when Tuk was still a day or two in and you came into our TS and you were FUMING about the "clan win" status didn't update yet. We politely asked you to be quite cause we were in a drop. You kept going on and we asked you to less politely to be quiet, we were in a drop. You still kept going off on it and then I asked you to shut up, cause we were in a drop. You kept it up and many others told you to STFU....we were in a drop lol...good times.

What is also funny is you guys are not that big of a unit. I think folks equate "people who can play together" as a big unit. I don't think that word means what people think it means.

And if you start a "KCom Rumors" thread I do not think Pat would be happy.

Yea, I remember the first time I said "Thanks for the match" and getting yelled at it by the other side and not understanding why. I was seriously thankful...we were in que for over 10 min at that point - but it was pointed out to me (By Daylan I think) that they (the pugs) can take it the wrong way.

Bottom line is I try to be nice and polite until someone from the other side ******* about something stupid like you guys cheated(aka Cl3m3ntine) then I might go off on them...but only if I had been drinking.

I think the only time I went off on someone was when I was accused of using LRMs, Although I will admit there are two times I can say I crossed the line and belittled my enemies. I legitimately regret those.

I hear you man.

People abuse me in game for "hacking", "ruining the mode" and suggesting there are better build options. I don't feel the need to report said actions of the children yet I get reported/account warnings for replying to it and defending myself?

I mean we play teams there is always respect on both sides. Sometimes some stirring but not it seems are deliberately agitating others and then reporting the reactions.

You're hated for playing the mode the way a mode is designed. It is a hopeless battle mate if you are semi organised. Utterly hopeless.

I apologize for the poor form by one of our members. He should know better and for the record, I will support any banning, booting, or muting while in your channels that is a result of this activity. In fact, I would encourage you to do that. You should be able to drop in peace within your own channel and I would hold no grudges for you taking appropriate actions.

Also, you are correct, I would not appreciate a KCom rumor thread. We are just here to play this game and have fun, that is all. Some of our members are a bit more vocal than others on the forums and as long as they keep it polite and professional, I won't say anything.

WTF is PR? sounds like a bunch of hooey to me...

Stop shooting me Mischief...it's making Lovas happy and we can't have that...almost sounds like a bit of PRPosted Image

Actually as I grew up ages ago we were taught to say good game at the end of all competitions, of course we did not get participation trophy's and think just because we show up we should win, amazing how things change over the years........
