Hey yall!

I was wondering, with Tukayyid3 coming up, what dropdecks will you guys be bringing to the battlefield?

Will you stay faithful to Tuk2 favorites like the Timberwolf and the Thunderbolt, or will new engines of destruction find their place on your dropship?

Post your dropdeck, and your builds if you want to!

Declare your batchall!

I personally have an all LRM boat dropdeck, and an all Brawl/snipe dropdeck.

My dropdecks contain mostly Timberwolves, Mad Dogs, Hellbringers and the occasional Shadow Cat and Arctic Cheeta.

I am, however, thinking of adding some Marauder IICs, Night Gyrs and Huntsmen, but this will depend on overall effectiveness and what other people will be bringing..

But I thought this event was imminent (next week), so no new skill tree nor new weapons.
Did I miss something?

Edit:
I'll probabily go with:
1 x Nyght Gyr (or Timberwolf)
2 x Hellbringer
1 x Artic Cheeta

Is it going to be next week? where's the announcement?

If its going to be next week, I will go with a super light deck... Lacerator, Stormcrow, Hunchback IIC, Hunchback IIC. I love me warhawks but they are just not meta enough for competitive play. My experience with competiive play is, LRMs suck as everyone has at least radar dep and/or ECM.

The Tuk3 Trailer said May 5th.. that's tomorrow?

So yeah.. skill tree and new weapons not important.. only life is important.. (obligatory Fifth element reference Posted Image Posted Image )

Announcement on the front page, big yellow line.. on the end of the trailer it shows the planet and it says May 5th, 3052..

If you go literal, don't worry, we still have a few centuries of prep time Posted Image

Anyway, no offtopic!

Builds and dropdecks! :D

I will treat it as just another CW event, and my deck will likely contain Battlemasters, Warhammers, and whatnot. If the drops are slow, MS will probably switch to Clan.

since i'm mostly using my fresh alt account recently, i'll probably use 2 Night Gyrs, 1 HBK, 1 Trial light.

Zero modules.

Switching will be impossible, since MERCs can only break a contract if they disband the unit now.. and even then, they cannot create a new unit until the old contract ends, so are stuck and forced to play out their active contracts..

PGI allowed breaking of contract without loyalty penalty during the initial phase of CW events before. Previous Tuk was just like that.

it would suprise me if those units would not switch sides - and again it would be off limit

The operative word here is loyalty penalty.. Mercs have no penalty, they simply can't, within the current MWO, break the contract, without disbanding their entire unit.. there's literally, no button..

Although I too suspect Mercstar will switch to Clans, cose' historically, when ever the chips were down, Mercstar was Wolf.
Hope they stay true.

I also hope some of my old buddies come back to fill CWI's ranks, some bit of old glory would be nice.. we used to be 3'rd wolf unit.. now we're probably not even on the board.. :-(

All I really hope for is some 12-mans to drop with.. none of that solo pug business and premades stomping us..

Having not regularly played FP since it was CW, and having played only 2 QP maps/modes since 4.1 dropped, I have no idea what to bring anymore. If I can work up the desire to play FP (booze sometimes helps with this), and assuming I can find a group willing to subject themselves to the experience as well, I'll bring whatever the lead tells me to bring.

Short of that, I don't know...wait...is IS still 265?
If so, 2 Grasshoppers, a T-bolt, and a Quickdraw? Maybe?
I really have no idea what folks are doing or what works anymore. Back in Phase 2 it was almost always fast heavies to try and match clan 80ish uniform speed, but times -and mechs and maps and modes- have all changed, and the few times I have played 4.1 callers have wanted the more traditional Assault, and then whatever else to max tonnage.

So really any guidance you can give us IS, CW expats is appreciated.

I tend to keep several types of mechs in my drop deck, at least one EW mech, and one mech with mixed direct/indirect fire ability, with the last two being direct fire and long range.

"What's in your drop-deck?"

7 out of 9 responders say 'Clan mechs'.

These are somewhat outdated, but have some valuable information about what mech variants and builds are generally used, for the Inner Sphere side.

(Also, when in doubt, you can always just run a Battlemaster and fill in tonnage, behind it.)

https://docs.google....csDk/edit#gid=0

https://mwomercs.com...ck-composition/

-----

Personally, I run a deck, each, of:

LPL/UAC5
ERLL
LPL/MDLAS

..and go either Battlemaster / heavy mech / heavy mech / light or medium mech
..or heavy mech / heavy mech / heavy mech / medium mech.

..but, some people like Battlemaster / Battlemaster / heavy mech / Locust
..and I've heard of people running 4x 65 tonners.

Easy.

Look up this, then use this .
Posted Image

And now somewhat more serious:
The usual stuff 1 Timberwolf(jj,5erml,2lpl),2 Ebon Jags(4erml,2lpl) and some filler mech depending on my mood on average.
But it really depends on the gamemode on big conquest maps i ll bring somewhat like 2 linebackers, 1ebon and a ice ferret. On hot maps i ll go for 1-2 night gyr,1ebon and a mistlynx.

Edit:
On the IS side i ll run most of the time
1Blr-2c(5lpl),2 qkd-4g(3lpl),1 qkd-5k(4ll).
