PGI, after patch, my TBR-C(S) - is the "fastest" mech in a game, still wait on hot-fix... ~3 min to full speed and ~3 min to full stop - not funny.

Well I spent 2 hours skill treeing a few mechs and trying them out, and I feel like it sucks! I have 200 mechs to do, and the ones I tried feel very different then they used to, even though i tried to level them like I had them before. I have to admit I didn't have fun tonight, and I don't look forward to all the work I have to do to try and rebuild all my mechs. And then get used to playing them again. I feel like my MWO is broken.

Our MWO isn't broken, it's gone and it isn't coming back.

Time to accept a less enjoyable game or find a different game to enjoy.

I have repeatedly advocated removing all buffs / nerfs / quirks from the game and making it purely based on your skill with and knowledge of how your mech works, but this is a very unpopular opinion on these forums.

This.
This is everything I want from MWO, but for the sake of "balance" we get all this....

IS vs Clan was never meant to be balanced anyway.

So far since the release of Skill Tree, I have re-spec'd and played 3 of the oldest 'mechs in my collection, 'mechs that have been completely Mastered. With all of the options and freedom that Skill Tree supposedly offers, I SHOULD be able to re-spec those 'mechs with all of the attributes I earned for them by grinding match after match. Why then, do I have to spend so many skill points just to get Speed Tweak, something that I have already earned for these 'mechs? And why do they bury it at the bottom of the Mobility section, forcing me to buy crap I do not want?

Here's another issue...on the last 'mech I re-spec'd, the confirmation screen said that some of the skill nodes I chose did not have anything to do with my current loadout. So after examining each section to find my mistake, I couldn't find it, and PGI did not provide me with any information as to what the mistake was! A little help, guys? This skill tree system is more like homework than anything else, and it really puts a damper on the fun I used to have playing MWO. After 8 hours of dealing with troglodytes and mouth-breathers at work, how great was it to come home and make scrap metal out of someone else's 'mech? Now, no fun just yet, I have to complete what amounts to a midterm exam before I can strap on my armor. Maybe these issues will be addressed in some future patch or hot-fix, but IMO the game wasn't broke, so why fix it?

IT IS COMPLETE BULL THAT WE HAVE TO SKILL EACH AND EVERY SINGLE MECH OF THE SAME TYPE...

So, someone had this idea about how there needs to be an intricate skill tree, allowing for higher leven of customizaton and more diversity on the battlefield. Great!

Then PGIs programmers tried to force it into what they were able to do with their medicore excel skills and their abysmal UI-design skills. Great Idea gone bad.

Then PGI decided to have a PTS for the changes. Great idea!!!

Feedback for PTS was abysmal, PGI went back to the drawing board to do changes.

2nd PTS comes up, feedback not much better. Somehow, all the work that PGI had done in the meantime got lost on the way copying the data onto the PTS.

Comes May 16th-patch. The thoroughly (and IMHO rightfully) critized PTS content is being copied onto the live severs.

Thanks, over and OUT.

This is my biggest problem with this patch...not the prospect of 413 mechs to skill...not so much the skill shrubbery... the fact that it should not have hit the live servers after two rounds of negative feedback (something upward of 80% negative) from the PTS.

If feedback and suggestions from the PTS are going to be ignored....what was the point of running the PTS?

So mechs now run hotter in general, fire slower than before, Cost more to upgrade.

"no lost progress" my arse, elite gave you double basics before so the mech was running at optimum at elite level. Is it now? is it ****.

Its made some mechs worse (My marauder 5m) some mechs better (Vindicator 1AA which can actually fly) but worst of all its really nerfed locusts Even with max agility they're more sluggish and even hotter.

(All mechs are running hotter and firing slower).

I don't think you understand how online multiplayer arena style games works.
Lore, Battletech goes out the window when it comes to multiplayer arena style game.

Even games like overwatch which has a big lore building around it, have things in the game to make the gameplay better. ( even know they are not in the lore)

One last question: So imagine I exchange 91 SP. Use them, then want to respect, do i lose them all? What is the cost of a full respect (hxp/gxp?), and Iam assuming partial respecs arent possible.

Partial respec or full respec doesn't cost anything. You lose skill points, but look at them as a currency to unlock skill nodes. You only unlock the skill node once, then it stays unlocked. The only cost you will have is by respecing (deactivating) a skill node and then later re-activating that same skill node. That will cost you 400 xp

Thanks PGI for the new skilltree. Technically I like it. But have a close look at the balancing. The Night Gyr f.e. seems to be even stronger after the changes and it was a killer before.

Will give the skill tree a go when I get back from work (been away all week) and see how my CN9-D fairs. But still miffed about the module refund, pretty much all of my modules were bought before 2016. Need cbills more than XP or SP.

I re-skilled 3 of my mechs during yesterdays evening :D Only few hours of time :D Not that bad in reality - fully mastered mechs now feel the same as pre-patch (however only basiced mechs :D)... I could live with that. Worse thing is my Battlemaster feels kinda much more fragile, and my BlackJack autocannons charms feels gone... And the worst of all was that fkin terrible scores during whole evening like 1:12, than waiting for lobby, minutes searching for game, minutes spent in queue, and in a moment again 1:12, and again and again....

The patch however, did not kill the game for me, which is surprising. We need new maps, better teambalace and new IS tech :)

No, it's not about perspective. There is no perspective in which shrinking the amount of viable builds increases customization. What you're referring to is a false sense of customization. When the choice has been made for you.

I will increase my crying about GSP because there is a 2800 GSP in opportunity value lost for my fully moduling the vast majority of my played mechs rather than buying an additional 43 mechs at 91 skills.

Actually its totally perspective and the fact you want to rage meaning your denying anyone else might have a different view from yours. Posted Image

So far I've been running a set of 6 mechs and none of them have identical trees. Some have more ammo, some have better energy weapons and agility, some have better protection, etc etc. Strangely I've used the same fits as before and just specced to either minimise a negative of the build or to buff a strength. I get that if all you every use is the same weapon systems (e.g. Energy/Gauss) on similar chassis your perspective might be different but I'm afraid your mileage isn't the same as everyone elses. I guess the point of 80% negative feedback on the PTS is that people prefer to complain rather than to praise. So let's try it out: I really much like the upgrade. It's awesome!
Yeah, you have to click around a lot. That hits us hard with so many mechs already at bay. But for new players/mechs, you can level step by step. I just wish you would get SP right away after a match, not having all those currencies. Good old RPG experience bar, it's full, you get an SP.

Concerning gameplay: It is great! Feels like a real battlefield now, not like a race. It tried my good old Dragon Slayer and maxed its armor and agility, man it's tanky and I love to be the spear of the assault with it. It is no longer the poking engagement or brawls that are over in five seconds. It really takes time and you see people struggling with heat management, which gives you options to outmaneuver them.

IS vs. Clan balance is fine. Raked up 4 kills in a game with my Dragon Slayer (because its tanky) and 5 with my MAD-IIC (because it punches, all lasers with weapon skills maxed + two coolant flushes and 2 airstrikes).

Keep up the good work PGI!
