It's the Solo queue that's the problem, I don't really have the time allowance to do many group drops (which are usually better).

I dont see how group queue is better for match score than solo queue, when the grouped queue tends to have a lot more people playing their best mechs trying to impress friends and solo queue has more people leveling mechs / trying odd builds... imo solo queue also seems to have a lower average skill than grouped, so as such you should get higher damage and higher match score in solo than in grouped ?

I need to visit these forums more often, missed the free mech.

Announcing events earlier than the day of the event might encourage inactive players to return for the event, and possibly stay longer :P

I would tend to agree with this, not sure what they are trying to accomplish with these last minute announcements...

I enjoyed the event a lot.

it was very relaxed, and I really appreciate that ppl weren't forced into any kind of playstyle (see the battery-carrier-thing, or qp-players being "forced" into fw during tuk - and aaall the corresponding salt);
the qp-guys can continue their solo-rambo-thing, the fw guys are happy, too..
-and you get a linebacker and colors on top of that.
thx for that event :)

Please no more double XP events. Speeding up the progression is not a good solution, and it ruins experience for some of us.

If/when they tinker with FP again, would love to see a "Double LP/MP" event tied into it...

I really think PGI could clean up $$-wise if these events were announced (not completely) on a quarterly calendar. There will be an event from Day X to Day Y in he Month of Z. Yes there is some level of predictability - Holidays, St. Patrick's Day, etc. for players familiar with the game, but there are clients who are new or very casual players.

There is no need for the exact details/sales. Those should be announced about 72 hours out to give the players time to react.

I really hope this changes.

Is it really so hard to just visit the MWO website once a day and check to see if something is going on?

the biggest issue I find is that the developers have no concept of how to write a match maker that creates balanced teams...team A has 8 of 12 people who didn't even break 200 damage and 4 people who do while team B have all 12 doing 300+....Team A gets 0-3 kills (4 on a good game) and team B of course all 12 enemies killed. This is the end game results for 90% of the games I played this weekend. Add in how huge the disparity is now between a brand new, unskilled mech and a fully skilled mech and I hate to say it, there was very little "fun" to be had despite an otherwise great and easily achievable event. Now that you have redone the skill tree PGI I think you should be putting as much or more effort into building a new match making system that balances teams rather than putting all the best players available on one team and all the worst players available on the other.

That is just plain weird. If you don't want double xp just don't drop but grinding mechs its a godsend for the other 99% of more normal people. Posted Image

Why? I didn't have any AMS and got it in 24 matches averaging 428 per match - mostly via pure damage and kills I suspect. ;)

Curious as to exactly how much match score and rewards it provides in reality.

Well tbh I don't think any player should be forced to do that ... however, there is a handy in hanger browser screen when you log in mentioning events and news which really should give people a hint. That said, PGI REALLY need to announce these events before the day they start. I managed it no problem but only found it out on Sunday as when I checked on Thursday there was no event apparently this weekend so I arranged other things as the weather was so nice. Saying its a "national holiday" so we should guess also doesn't work if you're not in the US/Canada... as its not elsewhere...

because the ams would have got him the 214 match score he fell short.

Lets see....

Work - 60 hours/week
Family, houses, sport, ..... yes, I don´t have the time to chekc the website on a daily basis. Even If I had checked it thursday, I would not have seen the announcement because of a different timezone.

If you have the time to check every website of intereset many times a day.....

I think the idea is possibly to encourage people to play all the time (so they don't miss events at short notice) or at least avoid people only turning up for events. In practice I think when ppl like myself stop playing for a time to do something else (play a new AAA release or something) it's the events that hook you back in, if you know about them, and I check the forums here somewhat regularly.

I mean, even if I was active I might have made plans to go out (HA!) or play an event in a different game (which is what I was actually doing), and ended up playing that game for a month which entailed buying a month sub and a couple niceties to go with the event.

As another example, I do plan to push things aside in my gaming calendar to make room for the civil war update which I wouldn't otherwise have done if it were short notice (not that they could realistically do something like that at short notice, but you get the idea).
