Why clan MPL has 33% less health than IS medium pulse laser? Why it has 50% more duration than IS MPL?

Becose Clantech take less space and less tonnage. And DHS 2 slot. Remember for any nerf.

Triple max range is completely useless on LBXs, because the spread means very few (or even zero) pellets will actually hit a target at that kind of range.

"More prone to crit" excuse me? What do you mean by that? The IS ERPPC is MORE likely to be hit by a crit, that's part of the reason why it has more health. Do you understand how the crit system works at all?

That health difference doesn't come anywhere close to balancing the slot and tonnage difference, and for ballistics it's far bigger.


Same with the UAC's. There's a tremendous slot/tonnage difference for everything.

Why is clan ES 7 slots instead of IS's 14? Why is clan FF 7 slots instead of 14, AND provides more free tonnage? Why do clan XL's have the same.side torso loss penalties as LFE's but weigh less? Why are clan DHS smaller? Why do clan get free CASE everywhere?

To balance all those advantages, yes, IS gear needs edges here and there. The IS ERPPC is faster, and cooler. The Clan ERPPC does more damage, is lighter and smaller.

Yes, but clantech is nerfed already! IS DHS has 50% more healh against C-DHS!
Besides IS mechs have quirks much more and effective than clan mechs.

.... Because the clan MPL fires 330m optimal vs the IS MPL's 220m? Because the cMPL does 7 damage vs the IS MPL's 6?

Come on guys, if your going to whine, find a better way to do it. 7 damage at 330m > 6 damage at 220m. At 330m the IS MPL does a crushing 3 damage.

" Oh, boo hoo, my laser that does more damage over 50% longer range has slightly less health and a longer burn time!"

Show me an IS player who would keep his 3 slot DHS with more health if given the opportunity to run 2 slot DHS with less health.

Keep in mind, a 3 slot item is more likely to take damage in the first place than a 2 shot item...

Component health really isn't terribly important.

Amour/heatsink/structure menu box is terrible with drop down menus. please change back to the two button switch on previous UI build.

Oh it is v. important. As a mercenary and both IS and Clan tech pilot i can see clear difference in component health. But hey.. I can still hop into my BSW-HR which is a real workhorse and can take a crapload of a beating.

Still, I think that Clans are constantly nerfed again and again for the sake of a balance.

It is a problem with matchmaking in MWO.
It should be based on sth like BATTLEVALUE factor (BV for short) which should be calculated on chassis, weapons, components, etc.
Let's Clan tech be superior to IS, but at the same time BV will be higher.

For example: BV for ATLAS is 1000, and for Kodiak BV is 1300 and matchmaker should use these values to calculate what mechs should be put in what team.

Yes, in solo queue it will be easier to do than in CW, but in CW we could take it from the lore. For IS 1 Company (3 Lances, 4 Units each) - 12 mechs and for Clans it should be 1 Binary (2 Stars, 5 Units each). And/or calculating based not on tonnage but on BV factor. Let's say both teams can drop mechs woth 10000 in BV.
And voila! Done!.

And then you need to have a franken mech that can equip every type of laser (IS or Clan) in its CT/ST just so that I can Alpha one of each while yelling:
