Someone make a video with 8 HMGs and let's get an unbiased perspective on just how quickly these things can chew through leg armor.

Or.... you can 'dis-arm' them.... Neither mist lynx nor cheetah need much more than a wet dish cloth thrown at them to remove their arms... and how could you miss the mist lynx's with its rediciously out of proportion arm weapons.


Let's not nerf hammer mg's into oblivion cos people can't aim...

Make sure the target is a pilot who knows how to unlock arms and shoots back.

Simple solution, just make deliberately targeting legs a bannable offence

Or make machine guns jam unless the pilot shouts 'dakka dakka dakka' into the mic constantly

or just put ghost heat on machine guns

since you know thats the whole purpose of ghost heat, to make boating less economical

ghost heat on 6+ machine guns is the best solution within the current system

I was just in a match where a MLX got nearly 1300 with 8MG, i've had almost 1200 in one. They are godly!

Any good Mist Lynx pilot will agree that the Machine Guns are OP... only because our biggest weapon is being underestimated by the 'Reds. Too much attention and pilots will start to consider us a priority target. ;)

I see lights do that all the time, the thing is, this is the first time the MLX has been worth using. I am praying they don't nerf it.

I`ve seen other Mechs doing even more damage. So we nerf every Mech which isn’t bad?

My concern is with them making MGs worthless again. I was just getting used to the idea that I liked them. Then PGI had to create the ridiculous situation of 8MG lights.

You're kidding yourself if you think those half baked excuses are going to stop them from wrecking the entire MG line

Then again PGI has been working around the problem with Uziel survivability, rather simply giving it structure or armor. They might just try to nerf around the problem with MGs. Do something silly like nerf the mechs not the boating.

This is literally the only time Ive ever even considered taking machine guns over more ammo for main guns or heat sinks or even a command console~ since Ive started the game. Before now they were just so little damage or range or whatever that I would gladly use the weight elsewere, even on light mechs. Now I feel they are a viable choice and just two of them is enough to be useful and 6-8 of them is formidable, previously 1-3 was useless and 8 was the only way to get anything done with them. I really like where they are now actually. And I feel light mechs boating them isnt that big of an issue either, give some respect to the little guys.

That said if there is an issue with TTK being too fast with boated machine guns, reducing their crit chance a small bit will directly increase the TTK while still allowing them to be useful.

A 25 ton light that can chop down mechs more than double their weight in record time? Yeah. They might troll it into oblivion.

That was my point. The smart thing would be address the boating. Not the MG lineup themselves and not the mechs. But given how they handled the Uziel's fragile state, I have the sinking suspicion they're going to nerf around the problem.

Blackjacks can boat 6 MG and Shadow Cats can boat 7 MG for a long time now. Why is it suddenly problematic when one of the worst Mechs in the game can boat 8 MG?
