Nearly every page of the thread, including page 1, has a post requesting the combination of Collector's Packs with hero purchases. So far they seem unmoved on this particular point, but they have expanded the qualifications quite a bit.

The inability to mount 2 ECM on a mech was confirmed by PGI, but I'm too lazy to hunt down the post.
Someone already gave the info. I responded in kind. Just never edited the original post since I got away with a squirrel joke.

On a semi-related note... I am sorry, if it was already mentioned somewhere and I missed it, but when does the 2017 period end and the new period for 2018 begin? Soon, bit later, November 14th, some other time? Thank you for any info. *hugs*

I previously purchased (2015/2016) standard packs of mechs a, b, c. If I upgrade them to collectors versions this year, does that make me eligible for the 2017 top tier rewards?

Yes, confirmed multiple times in this thread and a few others.
Happy spending!

That's mighty forgiving if you ask me.
Of cuz understandably you'd need to have owned 6 standard packs in the first place, or $120.

As for myself, I'm buying IS standalone heroes I don't yet own and upgrading a couple of Clan mechpacks to Collector's. At least this way I'll be getting mechs that I won't ever be able to get for currency earned in-game.

If anything, I think the Fire Moth (Dasher) would be the most appropriate due to the uniqueness of it's speed, hardpoint omnimech variety and arms that could easily work like the armpods of a Raven, that if at least the game engine is made stable enought to feature a mech that can run up to 216kph with MASC, which seems possible for a game engine almost 20 years old yet impossible nowadays, the wonders of Lostech in Battletech I guess
Possible 20 ton Clan mechs are :
Howler (Baboon) ... only 3 variants !
Piranha ... 4 variants
Snow Fox ... only 2 variants befor the Jihad !
Stinger IIC ... 3085 ... too early !
IF they could save the problem with the 216 top speed with MASC, only the DASHER has enough variants AND a hero mech, accourding to www.sarna.net ... but I think that currently the PIRANHA has better chances to become the first 20 ton Clan mech in MW0

Not me tho since I only joined MWO in Sept, and the only mech pack I own is the Hellspawn standard edition. Maybe next year Current rewards for me this year would be the 100 match and entry tier IS rewards, and later in the year before the Nov deadline is up if an MC sale is on (Halloween perhaps) plus a new clan mech pack is released for pre-order, then I'll pop for the MC and Clan entry tier rewards.

I don't know what your playing style is, but biting the bullet for the reward Urbie, MC sale or no, would be your cheapest option to get something else extra this year. You have plenty of time to decide and to wait for a sale...I would suggest you wait until either MC goes on sale or the last day, whichever comes first...then make the call.

I'm definitely going to wait to see if an MC sale pops up, pretty sure there's going to be a Halloween sale judging by the previous years. I wanna get MC to convert my XP to GXP. Personally I'm a fan of hit and run gameplay, but I'm quite sure an urbanmech isn't suited for the job out of the box, requiring heavy cbill investment to get it to shape.
Strangely I don't need mechbays, I have 5, 1 from mercenary FP reward, and I have only 3 filled. By the time I scrounge up the cbills to buy 2 more mechs, Nov 14 would have arrived and I'd have more mechs with free mechbays to play with, then Dec rolls in and I have the Hellspawn which I PO'ed.

I also can't stress enough that five mechbays really is insufficient. I have seven free (78 full, and I'm by no means considered a heavy collector) and that's beginning to feel uncomfortably short on free space. You will be purchasing mechs with CBills (or heroes with MC) and none of them come with bays.
Ultimately it's your decision, but since you're still new hearing this makes me cringe. I'm not saying anything bad about you, but I truly wish you would reconsider.

Ok, what's really that bad about converting GXP to XP to level up mechs quickly? Is it any different from buying a MC mech that has an XP boost? It can't be that the only real things "worth" buying MC with are mechbays and mechs.

And yeah, champion variants with XP boosts are seen as a poor investment as well. The boost is only good until you've maxed your skill tree, and then you're stuck with a mech for which you paid MC for the dubious privilege of spending even more MC to convert its XP to GXP a whole lot earlier and more often. They are only useful on the rare occasions that we have an event that requires XP earned. We did just have one recently, but to be completely honest, XP is never the long pole in anyone's event progress tent. I have...two, I think, because I bought a couple of mastery packs and they are included with them, but I've never intentionally used them for their XP boosts.
