How do you think that could even work mathematically, if everyone in T1 had ratios over 1 when they're frequently playing each other?

Since T1 was matched against T1-T3 at the beginning and later down to T5, obviously as a T1 your MS and KD should be much higher, even if you are not good at winning games.
But no, it's only a grind and most players dont become better over Time.

Unfortunately, calling/planning/complaining wise, most should talk less, and there's obviously no 'Controlling Hot Mic' requirement for T1.
I was T2 when the tiering got implemented and there was a drastic change in how much worse the people played. Much more shy and static and few proactive guys. Heavies always in the back row leeching damage and kills letting the rest of the team do most of the work. If the other team makes the mistake of being as campy its good. But otherwise it meant i was watching my team getting overrun as soon as the opfor moved up because we left them all the choices and opportunities to do what they needed to do to win. Two map became cancer because people stopped at a grid. On one side it always meant a loss. I saw no change from T2 to T1.

Keep it at 2 drinks and you should be doing better, i know i do lol. Much more zen when piloting a light and less likely to rush into uncertain death 20seconds into a match.

This is so wrong.
With my tier 4 account and one single mech I get often 1k damage. Many times the enemy team lies dead with only one few of my team dead. Even recently I got my first accusation of cheating with that account, when I killed fairly quickly his Hellbringer.
You and everyone else look for individual players and their single scores at each game, while you should understand tiers work on averages. That tiers separate players with "soft" sliding borders. Their biggest influence is regulating the average skill of whole teams.
Average tier 1 team is wastly superior by skill to average tier 4 team.

Which means the tiers somewhat work keeping better players fighting each other. If they would fight anyone at random, they would win much more the game they are in.

Now I want to do an experiment where teams made up of nothing but random tier 4 players fight teams of nothing but random tier 1 players until we have a decent sample size and see what the win/loss ratio looks like.
