Wait a minute...my reward system says I qualified for both Victory AND Defeat awards...Derp-a-tron PGI...

And why in God's name was this event scheduled to end in Oceanic, when none of the major units are actually playing?!

That's ********. Luthien didn't fall so House Kurita won. Am I missing something?

First thigs first:

Thank you PGI for the event and the immersion involved. Even with that little summary text it felt like we were actually achieving something :)

As for the draw:
I understand that Clans feel shafted since they didn't take Luthien and now need to successfully lay siege onto 3 other IS homeworlds. BUT, bitching about the reward? The Mist Lynx is worth just shy of 4 Million C-Bills if you sell it. And at this point most people who want to pilot a Mist Lynx already own one. With the loss reward most of the Clanners even gained C-Bills compared to the win reward.

So what happens to Luthien now? Can it be attacked once again? There is no tie option in the rules.

PGI, please clarify. You did not describe this condition in your rules, so it would be fair to consider this failed attack on Luthien just a breather before the final assault. Then there should be a distinctive winner.

You're not missing anything.

IS won this event by denying Clans the opportunity to capture, despite odds and game mechanics on capture definition stacked against Clans-heavily.

But PGI has no clue how to play Faction Warfare.

This is quite funny. Inner Sphere defend their planet at a terribly loss. This sounds very much like lore, heaps of casualties and infrastructure destroyed. Does sound like a win to the IS to me. But other wise I'm happy about the C-bills.

Yep!

Tie = Luthien Held Out = IS victory/Clan loss

So, my rewards tab has a NEW bug today.

Went to attempt to claim my rewards, get to the Claim screen.
Posted Image

Once i click the big claim button, i get the following error.
Posted Image

And finally, if i look down at the conflict screen, i see "reward available" for my 12 matches, but no button that i normally see there.
Posted Image

Can i get a fix please, or at least an explanation as to why i can't redeem my 4 million Cbills?

Pardon my getting off on a rant here towards the quote-unquote "choir", but I'm a tad upset, to say the least...

I have another question to add to that... Why didn't PGI handle the 'Win Conditions' like with Battle of Tukayyid? The Clans had their claws in extremely deep, and PGI's effectively twisted things to just be able to yank them away at any time they please. To deny the Clans the Victory that they worked so hard for, and had the meter distance to prove, is worse than just PGI saying that they hate Clans. This outcome, for this particular kind of Special Event, was effectively a "Go to Hell, Clanners, for we'll NEVER let you win." coming from PGI. No quote-unquote "game" should ever have conditions set up like a casino or poorly-designed pricing game from a show called "The Price Is Right"... The Clans had that meter so freaking far over that it's a CLAN WIN, Fair And Square. What PGI has done at this point is purely evil and wrong, as they sabotaged the first 7 hours of the Event anyway, and then didn't extend the Event to compensate for their failures. The Clans are NEVER going to forget this wrongful action towards them, and we WILL have our due compensation soon enough. We will not be wiped out quietly in the night!

(p.s.: I'm realizing as I typed this post that I was a little bit in a mental Role-Play of a Full-on Loyalist Clanner. Please keep this in mind with any reaction that you have towards my post, thanks!)

This is utter ********. Give the IS their mechs. If they cracked the siege in the last hour, then they kept the planet. And they won.

There is no tie. This is binary.

The Clan mission was to conquer the planet, Clans didn't keep the bar left enough to conquer the planet, so they failed their mission don't get the free Clan mech.

The IS mission was to keep the planet, IS kept the planet but they got too close to losing it, so although they completed their mission they don't get the free IS mech.

So the last minute IS rally did nothing more then deny Clan players a free light mech, without getting a free mech for themselves.

But everyone (with 12 FP games) got an empty mechbay : Basically it's an event that only rewards a big enough faction unbalance between IS and Clan... but the faction unbalance was not big enough so nobody gets to win a free mech, nobody.

There never should've been multiple conflict rounds to this event. You don't get to simply throw away everything that happened in the previous rounds and base everything on the outcome of the final round. If you insist on keeping this format for future events, you MUST have the loser of one round be penalized somehow in the subsequent rounds...such as a 5 ton cumulative reduction in the losing side's dropdecks for each round lost to account for the territory and logistics to which they no longer have access.

If you want to sit on your posteriors for the beginning and pull off a miraculous come from behnd victory at the end, it damn well better truly be miraculous.

Of course they don't know how to play Faction Play. Ive never seen a PGI player in Faction Play at all. NOT EVEN ONCE. If their running alts and all which most think that's ********, Why do they call themselves Devs to begin with. PGI do us all a favor and GET A ***** 12 MAN group going and fight us in this mode. I'm very sure you will get your asses kicked so hard it wont be funny.

With the way this event was handled and the way it was setup, why did we even bother playing if the conditions were not going to be fair at all. PGI, you better think very carefully about the FP Events next time while your are having sales like the Escalation Pack out there. The moment consumers see a "red flag warning" by PGI, its going to be very bad. The tug of war meter did indicate the Clans had a Winning Majority over the I.S.

Everyone who played since the first day of this event is very pist off. I agree that the conditions should've been like it was with the Tukayyid event. The way they did this one is an EPIC FAIL by PGI.

Ha, filthy clanners actually thought they could take Luthien. The coordinator is most pleased with this result. Glorious Nippon defense, folded ZERO times.

Wasn't there some football coach that said a tie is like kissing your sister? Clan didn't take the planet, give IS their mechs. (I was Clan during the event, in case you're wondering.)

Based on the planetary rules in FP, if the Clanners did not win within the victory threshold of the invasion bar, then IS wins. There is no tie. In lore, if the clanners fail to capture the objective, the IS by default wins, there is no tie. It might be a Pyrrhic victory, but the word is still there, VICTORY.

After how this played out, I see very little incentive to participate in any more of these FW events. Only the last few hours count, and even the "winner" doesn't actually get anything.

But if you think about it, that's how the game works and how the real world works too. In situations of continual loss, a sudden surge by the losing team will be seen as a "victory" at the end of the surge, and that's exactly when the event ended. After that, normal victory conditions resume as the surge amounted to a symbolic act. Examples are like the Battle of the Bulge by the {Godwin's Law} in WW2, or outscoring in the 3rd quarter in basketball, but trailing in 3 other quarters and losing the match, etc. But these events are far from a tie.

Seems pretty weird to me. But sure, I guess nobody met the victory conditions set forth. I'd recommend doing things a bit differently in the future as this is a bit of a mess. I'm just glad they decided not to nerf lasers to hell.

Special Events... Clans do not tolerate mercenaries so only Loyalist units can fight on the Clan side for the Clans. All other mercs are out of the event unless the event is longer than 7 days *for transfers to IS as mercs* and only IS can use mercs. Easy Peasy solution.
