Everyone should understand there are a couple of ways to look at this Assaults Vs Lights Battle Scenario we are creating here, which is really interesting:
Either Assaults are overloaded by the amount of numbers in Light mechs (20 ton mechs provide more numbers) by an equal tonnage amount and survival is very remote and we are rewarded based on time (100 ton mechs vs 20 mechs)

Could have the game mode have a reverse counter where for every minute you are alive as an Assault Mech you automatically receive 100,000 CBills, and for every Assault mech you solo you receive an additional 250,000 CBills and 100,000 for the killing blow
OR
There is a fighting chance given to the Assault mechs in lowering the amount of Light mechs on the battlefield, and equality based on tonnage is ignored in favor of equality based on fairness, whereas 4 Assault mechs are equal to 4-8 Light mechs (just 20 ton mechs).
I also crunched some figures in regards to looking at all tonnages in the Assault range of mechs and Light range of mechs to build a better picture of equality based on tonnage, whereas we just have 4 Assault mechs going against the maximum possible amount of Light mechs.
320 ton cap with 4 mechs x 80 tons
20 ton mechs x 16 mechs
25 ton mechs x 12 - 13 mechs
30 ton mechs x 10 - 11 mechs
35 ton mechs x 9 - 10 mechs
340 ton cap with 4 mechs x 85 tons
20 ton mechs x 17 mechs
25 ton mechs x 13 - 14 mechs
30 ton mechs x 11 - 12 mechs
35 ton mechs x 9 - 10 mechs
360 ton cap with 4 mechs x 90 tons
20 ton mechs x 18 mechs
25 ton mechs x 14 - 15 mechs
30 ton mechs x 12 mechs
35 ton mechs x 10 - 11 mechs
380 ton cap with 4 mechs x 95 tons
20 ton mechs x 19 mechs
25 ton mechs x 15 mechs
30 ton mechs x 12 - 13 mechs
35 ton mechs x 10 - 11 mechs
400 ton cap with 4 mechs x 100 tons
20 ton mechs x 20 mechs
25 ton mechs x 16 mechs
30 ton mechs x 13 - 14 mechs
35 ton mechs x 10 - 11 mechs
Clearly from looking at the list we have a cap range from 320 tons to 400 tons and a maximum amount of Lights ranging from around 9 mechs to 20 mechs.
If we were to focus on fairness we need to look at minimum amounts across all the weight classes and those numbers range from 9 mechs to 11 mechs. If we were to translate that into Lances that would be 2 to 3 Lances or 8 to 12 Light mechs VS 4 Assault Mechs.
If we were to focus on fairness even further we can say that the 8 to 12 Light mechs within the 2 to 3 Lances must be 20 ton mechs VS 4 Assault mechs from any weight class.
TL:DR
4 Assaults (80 to 100 tons) VS 8 Lights (20 to 35 tons)
OR
4 Assaults (80 to 100 tons) VS 8 to 12 Lights (Strictly 20 tons)
