Two free hero mechs to anyone who plays one match? That sounds way too good to be true. Especially when one of those hero mechs isn't even released yet.

The only way I think this could make sense is for these to be different heroes than the ones we have now (or will have). For the Roughneck we've already had the Reaver for a while, so the wording "NEW Roughneck hero mech" seems to hint at it not being the Reaver?

Can someone ask them if these heroes will be the Reaver and Manul or will they be something else?

That seems incredibly generous of them. They definitely didn't have to chip in the hero mechs. Especially with one being an unreleased mech. That's cutting into their own sales.

If you look at the camos you can see that these are different heros than the one we have for Roughneck and the Sun Spider one for pre-order.

This makes me wish they'd allow for multiple pilot profiles on the same account even more than I already do.

They've already said - Both are entirely new heroes, not related to the ones in the mech packs/already available.

I think Russ may be trying a new way to drive Omnimech mech pack sales. If you get the Sun Spider hero, you are locked into the hero omnipods with no customization until it drops for C-bills - unless you buy a mech pack, in which case you have A/B/C/whatever pods available.
The free hero means you can play it for +30% c-bills immediately, thus making a $45 "pack w/ hero" effectively a $30 pack.

More customization on something good IF you spend money, and effectively a discount on pack costs.
