Only thing shocking about this is that it is a pretty smart move on PGI's part, and I am just not used to them having such foresight.
This gets folks on during a normal major lul, builds some good will with the remaining population, gets mechs that a good portion of the population would not otherwise buy into the game, removes any legit claim of the Sunspider Hero being P2W, etc.
Color me impressed PGI.
I may think your "balance efforts" are the epitome of stupid random nonsense, bordering on self-harm, but this lil' give away? It's a smart play. Well done.

I still wouldn't care. (Not spending til it comes on cbills. We have a serious need for like 20 or 30 new maps asap... we've got plenty of mechs and these post 3050 mechs won't be able to be put into Mechwarrior 5, so they haven't got much point to being supported currently unless a DLC is going to expand the ending from 3049 to 3070 or so.)
It's a shame that it is a Roughneck hero. I already have one. Though with a second and the new skill tree, I can rig it up entirely different from my current one and maybe make a more speed oriented hit and run rather than a medium range brawler and tank.
