Of course there is personal progression. Me for example. Back in 2015 I was simple a IS pug with no unit tag. Instead of sitting on my thumbs complaining about getting repeatedly farmed by organized groups I instead resolved to "git gud", and joined Marik units. That's when I learned how to play FP mode, how to build optimum mech builds, how to get better at shooting and positioning, and how to call drops and wrangle pugs. By late 2016 I was confident enough in my skill to join (MS) during their recruitment drive, in order to further refine my play style. Under (MS), I improved every facet of my previous skills, eventually climbing up to become one of the best players of (MS). Now that's called progression.

That's a great story. I wish more people were like you! But you said something about „progress in FP“.

And what does that leave us? Mass ejections, piss poor match qualities, dwindling playerbase that makes match finding even harder. Play the blame game or call them out doesn't help, doesn't change a thing.

Not much at all here posted ever changes a thing. This is the echo chamber, remember?

We can all ask for the queues to be split so that we can all just play the game without running into eachother and the unitless can do whatever it is they do with other people who can tolerate it and the units can battle eachother all they want without a bunch of whiners and mass suiciders and moral guilters whenever they try to play the game. Though PGI isn't trying to have the queues split, its obvious from when they split it before mid week during a quickplay event that they want it to fail for whatever reason.

Its bad for that whole immersive gameplay that you are mad at PGI for not focusing on. What's more immersive than matching up against people of any skill or coordination level and trying your best to beat them?

idk, lets start with planet descriptions and work our way up from there?

You're aware that you can think someone's kind of a giant tool bag and still acknowledge that they're not incorrect yes?

Likewise being equally Richard Cameranish back at them doesn't make your side of the argument look better.

Who's actually reading all of those? Developer work put into that returns very little change to the vast majority of players.

this isnt an arguement though. arguements end with a winner and a loser. this is just 1 guy screaming into the air, and getting mad at the echos he doesnt like. no one wins, no one loses, its just inssessant yelling back and forth, unless pgi actually steps their **** up. might as well have fun with it. :)

Just my own filthy casual potato ramblings here.

First of all, I wouldn't set foot in FP no matter what PGI puts up for a reward. Ever. It's a cess pool. PGI made it that way, but it is also "self stirring" with some examples of the stirring right here in this thread. I agree completely that solo's should not be allowed to drop in group FP. Outright full block. It's NOT what the mode was (is) supposed to be about.

I also squarely blame PGI for putting contest rewards in FP that encourage players to just waddle on in and become meat for the grinder. Completely stupid idea, but *PGI*. They're utterly clueless, but they'll never change.

If PGI continues to put events in place that players MUST drop in FP matches to complete, then they should reintroduce the solo Q for FP. Yes, I know it's been "tried" before. Deliberately set up to fail (because *PGI*), but it was technically "tried". I know the new solo Q will be dark most of the time, EXCEPT WHEN THEY PUT IN THESE STUPID @ZZZ'D EVENTS that compel players to try to win all the shiney's.

I also think that those puggles that auto ejected were wrong to do so. Total douchmove. Just take your beating and move on. It's just a game, and it's just a loss. I would have at least hit override and went out all blaze of glory. Not much else you can do when you're getting spawn camped and farmed.

But the MS boys that spawn camped? Total douchbaggery x 2. "What were we supposed to do, watch them eject?" YES! Watch them eject and report them. "But what about our shiney's?" You'll get them next drop, just Q up and drop again. No reason to be total @zzwipes in response to their total lack of sportsmanship. 2 wrongs don't make a right, and it's not an excuse to be a d'bag, just because your opponent is being a d'bag.

I don't have a dog in this fight either way. I gave up on PGI ever making FP something worth playing a long time ago. As I said, you'll never get me in that game mode again. Ever. Does not matter what "shiney" they dangle as an event reward. If they won't bother to fix (hell, really to MAKE) the game mode, I won't bother to play it. Only hope to fix it is to let it go totally deserted, like not. one. single. match. played. And maybe PGI will get off their @zz's and do something about it.

That's because the mode is a steaming pile of sh*t, not even remotely resembling fun. I won't start ranting, because i like the game in general, but FP can die in a fire for all i care.

For the life of me i can't begin to fathom the design process.

"Yeah, a frontal assault through narrow funnels into a prepared enemy position, let's do this FOUR times! Barrel of laughs for everyone! Oh, and let's throw in a horrible matchup system which takes forever even before this blast of a gamemode kills off player participation!"

Seriously, playing this felt something like crossing no man's land in WWI (virtually, thank god). I'm actually surprised ANY casual player is still going in there. Even tried it a few times in a unit back in the beginning. Gave a chance of winning, still wasn't fun. Nowadays, i just don't have the time to join a unit, even if i wanted to.

So, sorry about OPs lost rewards, but FW is just an exercise in frustration for pubbies. Only chance of this improving is FW dying off and being completely remodeled from scratch i guess - i very much doubt this will be happening though.

Hmm, I think I'm going to have to go with splitting the queue. After all, is getting a ghost drop any worse than this situation for either side? I'm sure those pugs would have preferred a ghost drop over what they got, at least ghost drops end quickly and are merely boring rather than demoralizing.

And I think I'd rather get a ghost drop than have all my opponents suicide, since at least with the former I'll know what's up as soon as the pre-game lobby loads.

Now that's just silly. Why should we waste 30 minutes of our time just to see people eject out of their mechs, and get no lootbags? You do realize that people have jobs and family--FP drops are big time investments that should not be wasted.

Ghost drops are the fastest way to empty out FP, believe me. Even a clearly lost match is preferable to GD, cause at least in a losing match one can get far more C-Bills and LP, by playing well.

Except the pugs' actions were bad enough to warrant reporting, since they broke CoC--how many times do I have to state this until some blockheads eventually get it?

It will not take 30 minutes for the enemy team to auto-eject each mech.

Stop hyperboling.

And I'm sure those puggles that didn't cooperate on "Clubbing Day" had jobs/families/lives too.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Bad behavior (YOURS) is not justified because of bad behavior (THEIRS).

This is why as soon as people start hackusations, ejecting etc - I turn the game record on.

I am compiling and will be sending in as I needed.

Video evidence = full blown warnings and/or bans. It's what these people deserve.

1. It will cost 30 minutes at least, cause you forgot to take account of queue time, and lobby wait time. You don't play FP, do you?

2. The pugs' actions were bad enough to warrant reporting, since they broke CoC--how many times do I have to state this until some blockheads eventually get it? Our action broke no rules, and was completely justified due to the enemy's cowardice.
