

Scouting Is Not Fun At All..

Honestly with the heat jacked up in this game as is its horrible and tbh unbalanced Clan mechs screw over IS every match with insane missile damage and well why the hell are medium mechs even scouting...
Scouting should at least be all lights for at least immersion sense.. And can we at least get something to scout and not have brawling every match..
Its like these PG devs have zero imagination.. sorry but truth..

Also switching to lights would do nothing. It would just be Jenner IICs and Oxides instead of Huntsmen and Bushwackers.

Embrace the game mode for what it is and not what you want it to be and you will enjoy it more.
It's really the only place to get those messy brawls like in the days of old. Before the dark times, before the 12 mans.

1) Disable all combat-based rewards for the attackers and all objective-based rewards for the defenders.
2) Heavily buff the objective-based rewards for the attackers.

lol yet the clanners are complaining about Bushwhackers being unstoppable.
It is not QP where you can bring any old build and run around doing your own thing with zero co-ordination.
End of the day - get in a team, get some tactics, bring proper mechs.

I wonder how many people would still just brawl because that's way more enjoyable, especially since killing the enemy always wins you the match because you're free to do the objective in peace once they're all dead.

The attackers will only do that if they don't care about getting paid. The rewards system in this game has a much bigger influence on player behaviour than many people are comfortable admitting, since in order to do anything with regards to mech purchasing and customisation you need Cbills. And, since the rewards system basically only cares about combat, that is all people will do, since it is the only action that will make people the cash they need to buy and customise the mechs they want in a reasonable amount of time.

Yep scouting is mostly 4v4 medium brawling. You can easily win collect intel games with lights but there is virtually no reward for doing so. If you want rewards then brawl.
IS rules scouting because they have a 5 ton advantage combined with Backwhakers which can tank amazing amounts of damage to their Torso. Not OP, simply more noob friendly then the Clans who have to coordinate fire and shoot legs. All shooting at legs is normally to hard for Clan PUGs.

Honestly though, if you're suggesting that we remove the fun brawling minigamemode and replace it with some generator rush tier objectives and pay people only to do the more boring of the two options then you're just trying to kill a gamemode.

First of all, trying the whole "Gather after brawling" thing doesn't work because after the defenders fall you have a very limited amount of time to locate the dropship landing zone, thus most people I run into tend to ignore any points that aren't in the immediate vicinity of the landing zone.
Second of all, my suggestion turns Scout mode into exactly what it was intended to be. It was never intended to be 4v4 medium brawl. The only reason people turned it into that was because PGI couldn't be bothered to put some effort into making the rewards system function properly for scout mode and just copy-pasted the rewards system from QP.

Not true, you can annihilate 3 out of the 4 and strip the last guy down to a leg and take your time gathering all of the intel.
This really is a case of be careful what you wish for.

You have a full 90 seconds. Plenty of time to gather a further 4-8 points (on top of the 3-5 you already have). Spawn locations are near same every map, so it's not hard.
Usually there is w players left as well, so one go DZ and collect, one just collect. When playing that silly mode, I've always had time to collect at least 4-5 points at minimum... But then, that's what is capable in organised play.
