Yikes these builds though. Ash you do need to train these guys.

Ouch if that was directed at me. Posted Image There is a lot of outdated or just "wrong" info floating around on the net regarding builds and skills. Some of my engine/mech choices are based on what I have in the inventory (with cbills being the major limiting factor right now) - such as the xl on the CRB-27 (engine swiped from a stock Bushwacker) or the xl on the ENF (originally bought for an outdated build on MetaMechs). I think I started playing in earnest around Dec 15th, and all the mechs I have were bought since then. Any advice is appreciated, and I do have thick skin.

Deck 1:
GHR 5H (3LL, 4ERML)
GHR 5H (3LL, 4ERML) currently working towards buying LE engine
GHR 5H (3LL, 4ERML) currently working towards buying LE engine
ENF-4R (3LL, 2ERML), currently XL engine, may change to LE after other builds complete – May run this CRB-27B until LE engine is purchased for ENF as I generally die quicker, with less damage, in the ENF with XL (at least in QP).

Planned skill path for Deck 1(other than for CRB-27B)

XL version + LFE minor tweaks

LFE tweak
GHR-5H half ton leg armor for extra heatsink it has +13 leg armor quirck so you scim some off of it. (still has 56 leg armor unskilled)
CRB-27B LFE version rest same

XL version
GHR-5H
SHD-2K high torso 55 ton mech laser mount nothing special otherwise.

https://tarogato-mwo...17-436f5838285e

ill check the second deck when get more time but seems solid

Alternative deck 1

BLR-2C
GHR-5H
GHR-5H
ASN-21 https://kitlaan.gitl...4241b#s=Weapons

Spoiler

This is how I do the GHP-5H with XL, And I use this SKILL MAZE

You get 2 more cDHS with going LL and only 3 less dmg... That said I only use LFE on that as it doesn't need XL anymore with LL. Only if you go LPL do you need XL.

Deck 2:
BLR-1G (5ERLL) Don’t yet own Mech
WHR-6D (5ERLL) currently working towards buying LE engine
RFL-3C (4ERLL) currently working towards buying LE engine
CRB-27 (3ERLL, 1ERML) currently XL engine, may change to LE after other builds complete

Planned skill path for Deck 2

I am used in running XL builds so bit unconfartable judging LFE builds but dont see any major flaw in the builds.
might wanna change the rifleman and crab for another warhammer 6d and splat assasin-21

You really want those 10% extra range quirck mechs.
as for the assasin last wave most time end up in chaotic brawling fight between medium/lights anyways.

personnaly i like to put a tc1 on it with https://kitlaan.gitl...42c01#s=Weapons

basicly trying to outrange your opponent by sacreficing some structure skill points.

Thank's for the advice so far, I will ttry to integrate it.

What is the Long Range Mechs or constant DPS buildts for the Thunderbolt?

Where can I find viable CW buildts then?

I prefer the Grinner because of ECM. I would use Med Pulse, but the Mech looses much speed in the process

Or, I changed my medium range drop deck to:

Sleipnir: 2 Heavy Gauss
Warhammer BW: 4 AC5
Warhammer 6D: 3 Large laser, Med Laser
Wolfhound WLF2: 5 Med Pulse Laser

This is my new Zeus attempt:
http://ZEU-9S2(L)

Is there an example of a mixed range deck like Ash pointed out?

@Black Ivan Zeus simply an horrible mech. It has easy to hit ST and the hardpoint distribution terrible. CCrider keep telling me it a beautifull mech, that it the Mona Lisa to him and i keep saying to myself are we looking at the same mech? Running a zeus is handicapping yourself other mech can do better whatever you build with it.

Palfatreos and Ash, thank you both for all the help.

I noticed that on the Rifleman, I linked the build for the 3N but mislabeled it as the 3C in my list. The 3N does have the 10% range quirk, so I'm assuming its fine to run it for now for ERLL and possibly replace it with a second WHR-6D in the future?

@elad i am not really familiar how well rifleman and crab plays but yeah the dropdecks looks very solid. i would say drop with it game and feel for yourself if ya like the mechs/composition.

oh btw you dont have to go crazy on consumables if you need cbills. I am just swimming in cbils so spamming strike like no tomorrow.

Yep I always dual strike/coolshot however if you are poor on cbills you can put those nodes into armour and / or cooling and take some benefits there.

The Zeus is goddam sexy. Philistine. You obviously can't appreciate it's sexiness.

Ok so over the weekend has a couple of guys along for some drops. Sat (Fri US) was a bit crap as it took me half a dozen games just to get my MWO/PC settings feeling "right" after rebuilding it in a drunken flurry the night before. I just couldn't hold laser burns properly... Got there in the end and then I could focus on the matches better... MWO is so fiddly like that, I had forgotten.

Had two losses against teams mainly due to people not following calls, but that is part of learning and paying attention to comms, especially if repeated 4 times. Good fights none the less and I'm sure people won't soon forget the lessons learned as I did get a bit salty for a few mins after one game which we should not have lost at all, but people didn't listen.

Overall thought lots of good games and a good "ease" into training as well for me. I hadn't drop called for a while as usually when I drop there is barely any comms when it's a 6man+, cause everyone just knows what/where to shoot.

Also did some PUG herding over VOIP and, surprisingly, all the PUGs followed the calls. That was a nice change.

Hopefully do some more training this coming weekend with people as well as there is 2 units who want some input which will be fun.

Did a pug drop over the weekend (my third ever) after doing some of the tweaks that Ash and Palfatreos suggested. I think it went relatively well considering I still wasn't fully skilled out. Posted Image

Want to give a shoutout to A41. Been dropping with them the past week or so as I'm IS side at the moment and they've been very helpful and welcoming. Also had a couple of drops with MS and had the same experience.
