Of course, that's all secondary to the fact that the Atlas needs something in its favor, seeing as it's the most useless piece of garbage in the 100 tonner category currently by a substantial margin.

That is highly subjective. Both have something the other can't do, or one can do better than the other.

Atlas does look better though.

I don’t know about more hero’s but I would love to se more variants of existing mechs, like the dragon there are only three mechs but now we could have the Grand Dragon variants with the time jump.

Not having the Grand Dragon as it's own chassis, or as Dragon variants, is one of the more bizarre things I've observed in MWO. It's a minor skin swap, maybe a percent of model changed just to justify it being its own mechpack. People want it, people would pay for it, and it would be cheap and easy.

Just... why?

Oh boy, that's a fun argument. Which crap mech is crappier, the hodge-podge hardpoint mess that is the Atlas, or the shot-bucket that is the King Crab.

I'd argue the King Crab is better simply because it can carry a more focused weapons load, and technically can dead side. While the Atlas basically has one build, and it's not very good at it anymore.

Id like an Atlas with a ballistic in each torso, oh and armor quirks I don't want another Boars Head that thinks because it's called an Atlas that it makes it one.

less mechs, need more content on gameplay stuff instead

8v8 or even 16 v 16 is fine too

Right, it's the ballistic right side, missile left side, laser arms, and the fact that it's a damn Goliath of a machine with a skull for a face that makes it an Atlas. Oh, and being called an Atlas does indeed make it one.

If you feel the need to complain about any Atlas model, try to complain about the AS7-K. Sacrifices waaaaaay too much for that second AMS HP.

EDIT; AS for the post above me; 16v16 would work great for a mode with maps, say, as big (Relative to the mechs) as Living Legends. And hopefully adding respawns and objectives. I know that isn't the most popular idea, but frankly, having a utility "Massive fight with many options BUT WITH RESPAWNS" playlist or mode or whatever would probably help out the player numbers in some fashion. At the very least, it would be better than that toxic trash pit we call "Community Warfare" or "Faction Play" or some other caustic buzzword for a game mode that didn't even slightly deliver what we wanted it to.

The Atlas was given rear facing weapons because that's just what they did during that time at FASA. The Zeus, one of the early 'fast' Assaults, had rear facing weapons as well. It's not special in that regard.

What makes the Atlas special compared to the other 100 tonners present in MWO, from the lore, is that it's the only one confirmed to be a melee fighter. The Annihilator, Fafnir and Daishi don't even have hands, and the Kodiak's claws are just for show. While the Atlas is not only designed for it, but it's been confirmed that it can slug it out with the best of them, and there are in-universe rumors that it can actually pick up other mechs and throw them. That, to me, implies a great deal of dexterity and agility, as immobile bricks rarely when brawls without being swung hard and fast.

I'm unaware of anything in the lore saying the Atlas is ponderous or lacking in agility.

Of course, that's all secondary to the fact that the Atlas needs something in its favor, seeing as it's the most useless piece of garbage in the 100 tonner category currently by a substantial margin. Upping its agility and making it more potent in slugfest makes sense from a lore perspective, a balance perspective, and a MWO specific 'role' perspective.

And then we actually get to the fact that, this is MWO that is an FPS, not TT.

Problem m8?

An atlas without armor quirks is just a confused Mauler in a fat suit.

And asymetrical Hardpoints. And I think you may have mistook my tone for one significantly more 'stupid angry'.

(The Atlas is still an Atlas, just a ****** one. Although, I guess you could build a very Atlas-esque Mauler loadout.)
