How would you know? Haven’t seen you in FW in six months. Put your money where your mouth is. All I’ve ever seen of you in 400 meters behind everyone with er large lasers. But hey the fact the denairwalker agreed with me doesn’t matter. I dare you to call him a scrub.

I think you're confusing yourself with me here, I usually die among the first (still outdamaging you).
But keep padding your ego with bigger names than yours.
Also if you feel the need, I'm sure you'll find more topics to sneak some screenshots of your topscores (lol) against pugs (lol²) into.

Thanks for your selfless effort to improve the game for all involved!

Now I know your full of crap because you are saying I sit in the back. Ask anyone in evil old or new about where I play from. Your ignorance is so telling.

That's what the strong players here are trying to explain, they want others to learn how to become better mechwarriors so we have better matches.

You know what this sounds like? Casual players need to suck it up, let themselves be seal-clubbed for your enjoyment, and somehow learn something from said beatings. Talk about self-serving.

The game mechanic is what it is, so I suggest you just accept it because it is not going to change.

I'm still waiting for one of the original Evil members to confirm that this Baron guy actually represents this unit. While he may not realize it, he himself represents the new mediocrity in Evil. But hey, he 'trains' the new guys lol.

We took in new people to try and better the medium players skill-set and improve it to a higher level, just like MS does with brand new players. Just like they did to me when i first joined. I learned a lot from Promowar/Vorteex/Uber. However sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. The unit would have died without fresh bodies, (RIP Mj12).

also the only people from Evil who post here are Serial and myself, SCAR isn't here to terrorize the forms anymore (or bless them, which ever side of the kool-aide you drink from). Personally i enjoy the grape side.

Look who my teachers have been.
1st teacher was cheekiez when he was in DC who 100 percent do they credit for getting me started properly in faction play.
2nd teacher was a combination of zito and Mesmer in zmom who taught me much better positioning and basics In IS mechs.
3rd teacher was a combination of Visor and deus, who taught how to properly brawl.
4th teachers were Vorteex, palf, bradigus, que, justcallmeash, and sharrowkyn who elevated my game even more.

There are many other people that have helped me as well like Hellsdog, denairwalker, waytosexy (rip Costa Rica banana factory).

Yeah they all take the piss out of me on a regular basis. But I’m trying to pass on what I learned from
Them. If you don’t think that info is valuable than move on to another read illcapitain.

I mean Visor is actually making jokes on new guys' skill level quite often) But yes a lot of old players (especially from NA primetime) are gone from the game and EVIL would be almost non-existent right now if not the new guys. Yes I outdamage them almost every game Posted Image , but they all are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY above average level of this game, combine it into 12 men premade with few top EVIL players and it's almost unbeatable in FP.

More "fun"

Sounds great until we try to define it because just about everyone here has a different idea of "fun"

Hence the forum salt.

The real problem is that thete is currently only one MW/BT game that is available and generally accessible, so trying to give everyone their "fun" where if you want general sci-fi or fantasy, there are any number of flavors to choose from...

Someone get Javin for me....

Out of all the “old” evil players I think visor has spent the most time working with me. For like two months straight he would have me drop with in 2 man or 3 mans.

This is potato paranoia. "You're just trying to fatten me up so you can kill me more!" Does it occur to you that clubbing seals is not enjoyable? Why are so many "casual players" resistant to the idea that they can get better at this game?

We should just ask pgi to replace tips in the loading screen with the mechwarriortactics 101 tips, with the general info at the top of the thread appearing more often in teir 5 and more specific info found at the bottom of that famous thread appearing to people more often as they rise in teir.

Boom, new player experience solved.

Which is exactly what is being demanded on this thread.

Could have fooled me, judging by all the bragging I see on this board and in-game...

Why are so many "casual players" resistant to the idea that they can get better at this game?

Because it IS a game, and we have real lives, with real families, real jobs, and real responsibilities, and just want to sit down, play some matches, and unwind. Chasing stats and bragging rights is pretty low on the priority list.

Are you under the impression that good players don’t have real lives outside of the game? I also have a real job and a real life, and I also play for fun. It’s just that “fun” for me involves getting better at the game, not flailing about helplessly.

Also, you have it backwards with stats and bragging rights. Those things follow naturally when you learn to play the game well.

Aside from a very few cases that I know of personally, most good players were not savants from the outset. My first year playing I barely cleared 1.0 kdr. The difference between me and a career 1.0 player is that I didn’t find it very fun to be average. I took note of what good players did and evaluated my own shortcomings with a critical eye. What’s “fun” for me is improving my skills and understanding of the game. It’s going into a match and looking forward to fighting elite enemies, not feeling afraid and overmatched.

I don’t get your mindset. For a few matches a night, sure, but as an overall approach to the game? I used to play a lot of chess; I can’t imagine playing someone whose approach is to make mindless moves over and over, getting mated in five moves over and over. How is that fun?
