Disappointing that the new map is taking so long.

This is a well worn game at this point. You should be churning out new maps much more often to keep players hooked. If you lack the manpower/resources, then for crying out loud listen to the player base and give us the design parameters a new map needs. There are plenty of us who are experienced at this stuff, who would at bare minimum provide you with maps already partially completed that you can clean up and release. Why you don't tap into that talent essentially for free to make the game better is mindboggling.

Got a question for you, PGI, if you are reading, how will you differentiate omnimechs between groups if they can have all the omnipods they want? Will they only be distinguished only by the base model or CT hardpoint placement, or gasp... quirks for set bonus?

Woot! Finally Solaris! This is especially good to see since HBS cut Solaris out of BATTLETECH (for the time being). Hopefully you can deliver a full Solaris experience and it can be the hit that FW should have been.

was excited about the instaban thing. i thought they found away to see whos hacking in the game. But then i forgot nobody can hack in this game. And maybe i shouldnt talk about it because that can get me banned.. So never mind this conversation never happened. Skip over it ;p

  • If there's still going to be the enabling of 8v8 in Quick Play, PLEASE make sure to set it up as part of a choice on the Server Selection DropDown... Checkboxes for both 8v8 and 12v12 would be the smartest idea...
  • Any word on the New Supply Cache System? Or is that a dead piece of attempted work, and we're not going to see any change to Supply Cache behavior?

1. It is not going to be both 8v8 and 12v12 they were planning on going back to 8v8 for queue times, the fact no mention in roadmap needs fixing please matt give us some info on this.
2. what he said.

3. I really think you need the communities help in rating mechs into your 7 tiers of 1v1 combat effectiveness, a poll / rating thread with a spreadsheet we can all fill out / rate each mech variant in and up or downvote we can give to others when we think *******/trolls are giving false ratings.....

Personally I don't care about Solaris at all and I am kinda annoyed that you guys want to introduce it while CW/Faction Play is still bland, flavourless and meh really, I want this big end game to be worth something already.

I'm House Kurita loyalist and I completely don't care about my faction, nothing in MWO makes me care about my faction, It doesn't matter to me if my faction is losing or winning, there are no real (grand?) consequences, no economy, no logistics, no differences between factions(well except that clans play with clan toys and IS play with IS toys). Really hope to hear more about plans for CW/FP soon.

As for new solaris city map, eh it takes way waay too long, we should be getting new maps faster than this.

Wow, such a terrible roadmap.

You really, really, REALLY need to call off those changes to the faction play loyalty system. If people can switch sides every 5 minutes, why have any sides at all anymore? Words cannot express how bad an idea that is.

And a new mechbay? Who the hell asked for that? Instead of doing something that actually matters for PLAYING THE GAME, in any way, shape, or form, this is what you waste coding resources on? Are you freaking kidding me?

Will these changes Increase the minimum system requirements for the computers we play the game on?

Disappointing roadmap. All it says Solaries all the way and "Wanna buy a mech pack?" and balance is fine...

I'm dissapointed. No 24 FFA map? Just 1v1 and 2v2 Esport? :(
Your player base is in average >30 years.

Are regular mechs usable in Solaris?
If yes, you are running into the World of Warcraft trap, where group content and pvp content collided balance wise. After years they had to split it up.

That's a good question. Now I'm curious as well. My system barely has enough power right now to play MWO. If the requirements increase, that could possibly put an end to me. :o

Which also reminds me... In my previous post, I forgot to ask the following... ...and with that, I disappear into the shadows once more.

Almost... I forgot this...

There's a problem with All Matches being flatly limited to an '8v8 Only' state. If PGI is unwilling to increase Match Reward Payments to fix the massive increase in the grind, then there needs to still be '12v12' as an available option in order to keep people from complaining/leaving over the shortage in acquisition of things needed to play the game in any reasonable time period. Otherwise, we can pretty much foresee the end of MWO by the shrinkage of Match Size. People will never stick around if it takes them extremely massive amounts of time to progress. I think we can agree that we don't want MWO's Community getting any smaller?

Huh... One last thing to reply to...

I don't think PGI can create a large-scale "Free For All Arena" mode here in MWO. Something tells me they lack the parts of the 'CryTek 3 Engine' that they're using which would be needed for doing that. Also, in order to make it reasonable in any way, 'Unlimited Respawning' would be a mandatory need in order for people to not get frustrated with that mode. We know PGI and their current mental state on that, which sadly makes the chances of 'FFA Arenas' happening somewhere about Zero... Sorry. :(

I would also take a 6 FFA or 12 FFA mode Posted Image
But yes, this game engine is broken. Not even 60 FPS on max with a 1080ti ...and in some places its 20 or 30 Posted Image

They said they are assigning division according to the most powerful duel build the mech is capable of, I imagine omnimech variants will be in the same division to the extent the most powerful build is the same and uses non-stock pods. I can't really think of any where preserving stock pods for set of 8 bonuses leads the best possible build so that shouldn't be a factor. Not sure about CT hardpoints, I guess that might matter enough in some cases, Gargoyle D seems like a candidate perhaps.

Just need one more design to complete the set!

Bug names aside, if its torsos weren't so fat I'd vote for the Fafnir; the arms certainly seem flat and stubby enough for the job.

Im a bit disappointed to but as Nuggles Time mentioned in his solaris content video, 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2 might be step stones to a fully fledged 16 pilot FFA IF S7 will be very popular. 32 pilot FFA would be frigging epic. Mechs of all classes clash together. Noone would truly know which mech could go out on top. Its a both self dependance, cleverness and tactics.
Ahh, getting MW4 merc nostalgic now...

And yes regular mechs WILL be playable in S7. And these heroes WILL be playable in Quikplay etc.
