Not sure why they choose turn based. Meh.

Probably will still buy.

Because people have been asking for PC Battletech for ages, and because that's generally what HBS makes, Necropolis aside

because battletech was turn based?

and I doubt they couldve made a real time game better than mechcommander 1. since mechcommander 1 was pretty much perfect. and its free now.

youd just be like "why am I playing this when I could be playing mechcommander 1?"

which is pretty much what I think whenever I log in to MWO, play two or three games, ragequit because its not fun anymore, and go off to play something else Posted Image

Probably chose turn based because HBS made the new Shadowrun games which were also turn based. They probably figured they could draw on experience from the development of those games and people who followed them might jump over to Battletech.

Honestly, having in their team creator of Battletech itself (Jordan Weisman) and designer of MechCommander (Mitch Gitelman), they probably know what they're doing Posted Image

It will be a very good game. I'm glad I pre ordered as a backer for 30 USD to get the full thing at a discount. For those curious if it's worth pre ordering or not, there's numerous Youtube videos up involving skirmish play, multiplayer 1v1, and a campaign mission that's early into the story. Watch a few and decide for yourself if it will be your kind of thing.

I'm a fan of turn based games if they are done very well, like X-com 2 (or the original for that matter), Final Fantasy Tactics, and a few of the Space Hulk games. I don't think this one is going to disappoint.

One of my more favorite play videos is the Red City map reveal, in which a lot of key game elements are explained. --

the multiplayer is kindve disappointing IMO (the whole reserve mechanic is awful and incredibly easy to abuse to get double turns. they shouldve stuck with the initiative system from tabletop where you alternate activating mechs)

but Im hoping the singleplayer will be better

I think they did some adjustments to multiplayer I believe.

I think that's why the gap between multiplayer beta and the game launch is so big.

Same price. It's just a scheme to get people to pay up before reviews are in.

For some stupid reason people beg for it when it's not present.

I think it's been wired in our brains in the pre-digital download era. If something's (presumably) selling like hotcakes, we want to get our copy ASAP. In case Steam runs out of copies. Posted Image

Battletech game seem to have no discount on preorder, but bonus Shadow Hawk skin (useless, IMO).

About that SHawk skin, that's actually a point in their favor. I hate all kinds of cut content being sold as day one DLC.

#pgiplease dont do this to MW5

I got mine.. $40 is one mech pack.. for a full game made by the people who made Mechcommander, the best game ever created ever..

To this day i've yet to play a better game than Mechcommander Gold.

I'm not buying this for multiplayer, i've had enough of toxic communities here for years to come..

Brace for April 2018!
This will be the end of MWO as we know it ...
It will drain many people from this game, at least for some time.

Lets hope so.. Might wake these devs up a bit.
