Can't trust that, Metachanic. I can't count how many time people spectating me have screamed over VOIP for me to drop artillery/Air Strikes that I do not possess.

As others have said though, it's probably not necessary.

things don't always happen exactly the way you remember them? it's around 40% heat alpha build on grim, depending on exact skill tree setup, you can fire it 3 times in a row before overheating, 4 with coolshot. It's certainly pretty cool compared to a high alpha clan vomit mech, but at the cost of damage

Spectating still messes up displaying weapon groups and consumables.

i dunno seems the screenshot was taken as he shot .1 secound before the actual heat showed. Seems fake, if we had a video on teh other hand of him alphaing and then the heat staying at 15% then i would be more inclined to agree with op. Until then id have to assume this screenshot was rigged (taken split second before actual heat)

OK, so I wasted 3 mil testing this (I now own a useless STD 325 engine)

The 'mech

The (relevant) skills

36-38% per Alpha (it varies, probably ping)

Can *just* manage 4 Alphas without shutting down

Let me ask a questions: Could someone use outside software to manipulate energy weapons like FireControl does with ballistics?

don't see how, fire control just lets you provide the game with perfectly timed mouse/keyboard inputs, not sure how that would help with alpha strike energy boats

you have to use AutoCAD with it to activate the secret energy draw which lets you use the mouse cursor to draw where you want your heat to be on any given alpha

it's pretty much not worth the effort though, it requires foot pedals and a tongue activated switch (for which you'll need a helmet or throat mic)

I am going to make a few assumptions on the specifics of that Warhammer build beyond the obvious.

I will assume a 325 LFE
Endo steel and 432 points of standard armor
That will leave us with room and tonnage to get up to 19 DHS after accounting for the weapon payload visable in the screenshot.

This will leave us with a mech that has a listed 36% heat efficency on Smurfy and we can also look at the Warhammer 6D quirks list and see it has NO quirks to enhance energy heat levels. It has a 10% energy range and a PPC velocity quirk but no heat efficency for energy weapons.

So we have a 36% heat efficency with an alpha strike damage of 47.

Or....

Hellbringer with 2 heavy large lasers 6 ER medium lasers and ECM that has a 33% heat efficency and an alpha strike of SEVENTY EIGHT!


So 31 more damage at a cost of a measly 3% heat...AND it's got ECM and a higher top speed.

Really...Like for reals these are actual numbers and in this instance the Clan mech just does it better.

Then he is incorrect on the number of shots within his stated time because it's just not possible to for this mech to do what he claims....

But on a side note if it actually could do what he claims it would almost be a as good as hellbring laser vomit build...almost...

One thing you can do with a macro is group IS LL/ERLL with LPL, if you start firing the LPLs exactly 500ms after the LL/ERLL they will end their duration at the same time, circumventing the ghost heat limit. I use this on the Battlemaster 1G with 3LL+3LPL.

You can also do it on clan mechs with HLL+cLPL.

Basically any regular laser + pulse laser of the same class can be used this way. ML+MPL and so on.

There's a hidden quirk in the -6D.
-Berserker Mode
When critical warning is flashing, all heat generated by an alpha strike is ignored.
