I am a damn awful mech pilot so I am torn with this one I tried the javelin and I sucked. I may try this one though

FLE-20 with stealth and ECM masc fits 4 tons and 4 slots looks like the best of them

actually, it's superior to the Pirahna in Speed and Handling due to the MASC. also, it's IS.

Having a 20 tonner with superior handling doesn't impress me the least due to 20 tonners already having great base agility.

I, personally, find the 20 tonners TOO agile, seriously, with a keyboard just pressing A/D to turn your legs jerks your entire mech by so much, it makes it a pain in the arse to use.

Maybe i'm just bad though.

They need to be that fast because of the miniscule total health pool they have - compared to current alpha capability of the 'mechs we have right now.

I'm not talking about the movement speed, but the ridiculously fast turn-rate.

But again. I'm pretty bad at light mechs (even though i got my Ace of Spades in a Locust pre-rescale and the megaquirks, if i recall correctly)
Maybe if turning your legs wouldn't drag your torso position as well, it wouldn't be as jarring, but trying to keep track of opponents at the same time as maneuvering is a huge pain.

Seems me a mech I would enjoy playing.

Note: for each mech you have to purchase an XL engine and double heat sink upgrade. for me a reason to just be patient and get the c-bill versions for 1 million c-bills each.

Last note: hope they buff the locust slightly by introducing new c-bill variants.

I'm really tempted to buy this ...
@PGI: Would you please increase the max engine size for the non MASC variants to 175? Saves a lot of rare space to be able to mount another DHS in the engine.

lol. I will never understand the people who cry at the sight of a light mech. Easy to squish if you can aim, but an absolute joy to pilot. Ya'll who complain about lights so much really aught to pilot them exclusively for a bit. Your overall capabilities improves across all weight classes, and you really learn to appreciate the strengths and plentiful weaknesses of a light mech.

Ugh... Stop crying about the engine cap, please?

170 XL engine weights 4 tons and requires 4 heatsinks = 8 tons
175/180 XL weights 5.5 tons and requires 3 heatsinks = 8.5 tons

You're not saving tonnage, in fact, it's worse and not like you need lots of podspace for a 20t mech, or do you plan to run it with an AC 5 or a ppc?

Try building a mech with 7 weapon hardpoints and 5 free slots. Then add MASC

I almost want to try this, but think i'll just wait until it comes out for c-bills and pick the 1 or 2 that seem interesting

I was playing Elite: Dangerous with a HOTAS set-up before I started playing MWO. I didn't enjoy piloting mechs using the keyboard and mouse, so I stuck with the HOTAS. Steering fast mechs with the mini-joystick on a CH Products Pro Throttle, using just my left thumb, is a delight.

I'm happy people finally got their beloved mech, but isn't this just a bulkier and slower Locust?
Unless it gets Urbie-level quirks, this mech is going to banish from the battlefield too quicky...

As someone that runs an 81 kph Locust... Nah.

On a side note: Flea normally runs at least some larger than normal weapon for the weight class. Pity that sized hardpoints isn't a thing, but in general the Flea appears to have more hardpoints in more variety in those hardpoints. Exactly how that would play out has yet to be seen, but I would like to think that this could mean more variety in designs, including meta designs.

It'll be much faster than the urbie can be, too, apparently.

Yeah, they do kind of look like a male and female version of the same Mechs. You just need to make the Locust blue and the Flea pink so it will be more obvious.

*sighs*

I guess I could pre order this and then if next patch makes the game look sucky I can cancel

I said I'd not buy anything until I knew if bolt-on,s were going to infest Q.P or not, but I'm tempted

This is hard to get used to and piss poor design..

It should "gradually" raise up to full speed.

I am thankful that through the use of a joystick (in my case a throttle stick -- not in use at the time of this video) that this issue's been mitigated by how much pressure is applied to turning.
