One of these days I'll be lucky to catch it on film, its spectacular. Nail a backshot (these guys have like zero armor on the back) with a pair of LBX-5 or quad LBX-2. Multiple armor penetrations.
Two seconds later... net a kill.


I have ran a arctic cheetah with 4 Heavy Medium lasers and 2 srm 4's.
50% heat for an alpha so its one shot and get out of dodge.
The bonus is I can cripple or destroy a mech in one hit if I can sneak up behind it and get a full CT back shot.

Yeah you backstabbed me once in one match with a fresh Victor and I was done before I could even turn around... legit but not very sporting :) though I could have lived without the taunting... I guess when you have the OP mech that is easy to rack up kills with then its all about your skill.

Also, in regards to the 'VW vs Abrams' thing, the Humvee (weighing in at least than 3 metric tons) is capable of holding a 30mm cannon or BGM-71 Launcher, making it perfectly capable of wrecking a M1 Abrams (54 to 63 metric tons) from the sides or rear.

Okay, high damage? That doesn't mean something is OP. Lights are notoriously hard to play, and I've consistently achieved similar or same damage levels in a Cougar which, for it's weight, is as slow as a snail in molasses. Of course some 'mechs achieve more than others, but even I'm not dumb enough to insist that something is good without knowing what weapon configuration and play style it is best suited with. I have come across more piranhas that eat dirt in five seconds than I have ones that live long enough to destroy half the team.

OP, just file this thread away. After PGI releases the Piranha for c-bills and inevitably nerfs it keep track who whines the loudest and match that list against the biggest defenders in this thread.

So I am guessing most if not all of you "Piranha is fine" apologist also believe that PGI has done a great job balancing mechs. Amirite?

Go ahead and try out your Piranhas, the lowest health mech in the entire game whose claim to fame is speed and 12 machine guns. It takes positioning, timing, and lots of caution to play one of them well, and even then you still might just be oneshot by someone who happens to fire in your direction. There's many builds that you just look at on sensors and have to decide to not go anywhere near, dual LBX20 builds for example. Unlike lights like the Wolfhound, the Piranha is also vulnerable to SSRMs, so even people who can't aim can easily blow the mech to pieces. Not only this, but other light mechs kill the Piranha if they're also running their optimal builds.

Has nothing to do with the mech its all the machine guns, and you know it.

I'm expecting and don't mind a nerf. Probably one for c-MG first and possibly one for the Piranha after, although I'd nerf its cone of fire personally.

The problem really is that many of the complainers don't really understand how OP it is. As in, it's likely overperforming a bit in terms of its potential (but I bet the average matches other Lights), but it's not a Kodiak level game dominating OP mech.

How do you know its broken if you don't even play the thing? All you're doing here is calling people playing the game as intended with working as intended gear exploiting.

Another issue is the criteria people are using for gauging the "OPness." A fair number are using the criteria "the name Machine Gun clearly means it should only have the firepower of a modern AK-47 ANTI-INFANTRY ONLY BRO!" or "the little mech touched my big mech in bad places" rather than something objective like "holy crap 24 heatless DPS against structure is kinda crazy."

Wait, are you trying to say that it's hard to get over 1k in other Light mechs? Because oh boy, I and many other players have a mountain of examples to the contrary, as long as we're going by that metric.
