Oh, great, another great design that is not the Urbie IIC...
Another month I won't have to spend money in the game I guess... : /

And yet, it's far beefier than in the original TRO art. ;)

What I would like to see is some fixes to the game not them wasting time a mechpaxs! Adding more mechs to the mix isn’t going to change anything about the game itself!

Ballistic on a 40 T IS mech in numbers <6 is no good. Will vote with wallet.

Assassin will be nerfed before this comes out.

Not going to waste any money on that.
I was also waiting for Argus, so...

PGI, seriously, do you guys like doing things like that hoping that community won't even react?
Oh, we know that unless something is really wrong with the game, we won't cry to hard.
But this....
And you even ask money to pay for it?
I wouldn't ever spend a dime on it.

We could call it gundam without space skates.

Then they can have the maximum upgrades possible. While we are at it lets give every mech an m16 that shoots grenades with pink explosions and call them temporal-nuclear. Sounds like a logical upgrade path to me.

Wait I know lets make every mech have 8 legs so that legging won't be a problem with 32 side torsos and maybe 64 guns each... All of them with unlimited ammo no heat and 20 meters range because we need brawling back.

We can call it rockem sockem gundam and as a subtitle we will say "Not a battletech game".

Throe, you don't have to like it, but the facts remain as they are.

MWO is based on Battletech, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. I understand your grievances with this concept, but nobody cares about your grievances in the slightest.

Please stop trying to justify these poor design decisions with Canon and Lore.

Then allow me to justify these poor design decisions with consistency: The stock builds of all past lore mechs copy the loadouts from tabletop as best they can without any optimization.

A lack of lore in the rest of MWO does not excuse every remaining tidbit of lore to be thrown out the window.

No. You can't justify illogical actions by saying you're being consistently illogical. The builds don't translate from TableTop because MWO is a fundamentally different medium.

Certainly, but in the interest of better game balance, changes that depart from Lore are both necessary and good. Stock 'Mech loadouts being different from TableTop isn't going to ruin anything in MWO. The only players who will be significantly bothered by it are the people who play in Stock Leagues, but there's no reason they can't define their own Stock loadouts based on TableTop/Sarna info. For everyone else, it's far better that these stock builds be appropriately modified to fit what makes sense in MWO.

The Canon Lore is a source of inspiration for things we see in MWO, and it's where they pulled and continue to pull baseline numbers for new weapons and equipment, *which get changed regularly for game balance*. Besides, Canon Lore isn't the final authority on anything in MWO, the developers are.

Half the fun for me in MWO is the fact that i tinker and change loadouts. Besides what is "good" loadout for one isn't necesairly a good loadout for someone else. I don't mind the loadouts following lore it gives me a excuse to mod the mechs i buy or win.

Throe, seriously, just stop. [Redacted]

MWO isn't perfect in its application of lore or its divergences from same, but it has been internally consistent at least. And if it really bothers you that much, maybe you could stop [Redacted] and enjoy what we have. [Redacted]

This argument in itself is dangerously close to going down its own rabbit hole.

How many times has there been polls on how to build the trial/champion mechs with WILDLY VARYING OPINIONS of what would be "optimal"?

The fact is that putting them out there with stock lore loadouts is much more legit than "hey use these loadouts b/c *WE* think they are the best."

Cmon guys, Alex did a great job of updating the design from the 80s done by Duane. It may be not optimal for the game, it may be not the favorite of some but it is still a classic. Just don't buy it if you are not liking it, there is so many Mechs in game, there is no need to whine about it.

I know that many don't have their dream machine yet, and its a bummer but the BT Mechs selection is so vast I'm sure that in six years most have found some alternatives.

This smells like we're about to start getting a lot of obsolete (lore and game-wise) mechs only because they want to squeeze all the juice they can from assets for MW5...
