Not sure about the poster you quoted, but I like my mechs to look more like they did in the concept art. Even in that form, the shoulders had a drawback.

You mean the cockpit-level arm mounts on the MCII? They are far better than high shoulder mounts.

Best ballistic???? LOL WAT?
That's untrue: if you peek, enemies shoot your shoulders BEFORE you can even see anything, because your cockpit is BELOW shoulders.

Hello,

also on the BAS-A can you check into the energy hardpoints in the arms to make sure they are symetrical? In the video it looks as if the first hardpoint is on the left side of both hands and the second hardpoint is on the right side of both hands.

Can they be setup so that the first hardpoint is on the "inside" of the hands and the second hardpoint is on the "outside" of the hands?

Posted Image

It maybe a detail, but as it is now it looks "off".

Thank you and best regards.

You're just salty you got your *** kicked in it by better pilots because you don't have a team to carry you there.

fact is, them putting Solaris in wasn't a waste of time. it's been something MWO fans had been asking about since the game was in Beta. and it actually pulled back a lot of older players who'd been specifically waiting for it.

newsflash: not everyone who plays the game posts on the forums. in fact, very few of us do :P

I like the part where two of the primary variants and the hero will all have ghost heat problems after the patch.

Are you one of those guys who chain fire 6 IS ML with 3 by 3?
Have seen that so many times and everytime it made me cringe.
You simply do NOT chainfire weapons when they don't generate GH when fired combined.

I do agree that many of the "top tier" Mechwarriors seem to be avoiding Solaris because it makes them realize how much they were actually carried by their teammates. Gods know that I have been humbled a bit (but I still have more wins than losses).

I have played both sides and it is IS Mechs that can laser-vomit better than Clans.

While everyone else is critical of the gun pods I look at that cockpit glass and for what makes sense as a headshot area compared to other mechs of equal tonnage it looks like it's going to have a massive headshot killzone. Almost as bad if not bigger than the madcat mk2 or the Highlanders both normal and IIc. I am confident in headshotting a highlander or at least hitting the cockpit around 300m away if my target is standing still long enough for me to get positive I'd. With the Blasp though I feel like I could at least hit the cockpit if not kill it at 400m with a dual gauss hit. Ofc we will have to wait and see the in game version and the size comparison screenshots but I just feel this mech is going to get "domed" more often than most others if targeted by a highskill player and will be more susceptible to "lucky shots" i call a lucky shot getting killed completely fresh from 450m away by a dual hgauss fafnir. Because of a lucky headshot. He aimed at someone else missed them and domed me. But that's a rant for another time.

Do you realize that in MWO it is very rare that the cockpit glass is actually the head hitbox. Many Mechs, especially the Supernova have cockpits that are a very small or almost non-existent portion of the cockpit glass and most are unrealistically small.

I haven't touched Solaris because I knew it was going to be a flop. It'll just be the same pilots using the same builds over and over again. Kinda like quick play but an even more narrow niche. I've never claimed I was the best. And 90% of the past 2000 games I've played have all been solo. And I'm usually the one carrying the team. Has nothing to do with me being salty or being a poor loser like Arkhangel thinks. I just think Solaris is a bad idea which happened to be implemented poorly. And I've talked to quite a few people in FW and Quick Play. Most of them end up with nothing but negative comments towards Solaris. Yes it's a big part of the canon and Battletech but I just don't think it well end up being a good thing...and so far it isn't.

*slowly walk up to your enemy and start firing*
*hope you get more crits and twist more damage than him*

Such a skill-based win system you have going there... /s

I remember when the Nova Prime was launched. For the first several days you'd drop into a match and maybe 10% of the time you'll get somebody accidentally (or intentionally) testing their alpha strike capability without thinking about ghost heat. Boom, one dead mech to start the match (and on one occasion I had a match where two Novas alphaed themselved to death at the start of a match).

The biggest problem with Solaris is that you can really see what a horrible mess PGI made of all the buffing / nerfing and quirking when you fight 1 v 1. Mechs like the Phoenix Hawk and Assassin and some other small Mechs have such messed up hitboxes and uber-quirks that they can take insane amounts of damage in the largest parts of their Mechs even while standing still right in front of you. They can blow parts off heavies and assaults like nothing and some heavies feel like more fragile than Locust should be.

They were probably people who played MW2 when you could alpha-strike with a Nova without blowing up, because DHS were actually DHS and there was no ghost heat.
