That's one thing I don't get. PGI is absolutely fine DEMOLISHING entire classes of weapons in one pass, but when it comes to buffing things they go extremely slowly giving tiny buffs or only effecting a super small minority of mechs (the arm to torso armor changes on some mechs).


Hey, remember that "Temporary" damage buff they gave to SRMs, after gimping them at 1.5 damage? (BTW, while retaining 2.0 and 2.5 Ammo Explosion damage for normal and Artemis missiles, likely oversight)

I played a 3 AMS, 4 MG, 3 HML Cute Fox tonight
There was one ally who out-damaged me
I didn't use a Strike
It wasn't even a solid score


Quality Tier 1 gameplay was found, with a Cute Fox heavily out damaging the Assault Lance
3 of them combined, with one dealing over 200 dam.

Now, the question is whether that's due to "EVERYONE GETS TIER 1" oprah meme, or because veteran players are leaving
I know my play has heavily decreased, because the mechs I used to enjoy are kinda shite now.

Well, it's a step on the right direction at least. Now they just need to roll back the GH changes and DIRECTLY deal with the damage of the weapons individually.

So instead of 3 alphas of 80 plus damage I only have to doge 2.5 alphas of 200. Yay! My IS mechs will live a few seconds longer. Now if I can just make an experimental engine between isxl and lfe that can survive a st loss, not cause instant death and retain the speed of the isxl for my IS lights.

I would say a mix of both, but leaning towards the latter. Just further downhill from here. Can totally relate, half my mechs break some sort of stupid space magic ruleset and i think i've exhausted running BT chassis.

Great news for good units for MWOWC, less of a challenge to get top 10 with less veterans to deal with.

Lol some peoples pings are more than this :P. I personally stopped spending money because my faction and unit are gone. It had very little to do with nerfs. So having a hard time caring about nerf cry babies.

These Laser Nerfs are pathetic, i would have understand Ghostheat-linking MPL/ERML with HLL, but 4 Ghostheat on MPL/ERML which got just recently nerfed, wtf!

Let's nerf the last viable playstyle every Clan 'Mech can fall back upon when their hardpoints or tonnage is limited!

RIP, ye Hellbringers, Marauder IICs, lights with energy hardpoints, Ebon Jaguars, Novas, and a whole list of other 'Mechs I can't even be bothered to remember because they have already been nerfed into oblivion.

IS dakka is strong. Stronger that Clan and without equal armor is screwed. Oh let's not forget Clan guass has less health and compounded with lack of armor it is very fragile.

People are crying because the changes to one thing, without consideration of what it is going to effect is clearly not going to have positive results in keeping Clan competitive.

This is also most likely going to have the biggest impact on the only mode I enjoy, CW. In quick play Clan/IS doesn't matter. Just bring whatever good mechs are out there. In CW however, who is going to want to play Clan now? Clan potatos are already having trouble with IS mechs that can simply keep walking into an enemy without worry.

So no this isn't people being babies, this change absolutely does not make sense on its own without a major dequirkening... It will however become pretty clear when this goes live and Clan mechs performance numbers and usage are measured.

During all these years, PGI keeps nerfing and succeds in doing mwo more boring possible patch after patch.

Soooooooo.....I wonder why many players leave and playerbase is sinking....

Think about it. Clam laz is getting neutered, yet we get no sort of buffs ( no give and take )

Yet IS is getting a buff to rac2 and banchee and a slight adjustment to the ANH...

Now that a shot tonne of clan builds won't work a good portion of clan might just look across the fence and say well.. not much I need to worry about over there...

ghost heat change is terrible

wouldve made more sense just to lower the damage on clan lasers

like the 6 damage CERML everyone has been telling PGI to do for months...

I feel like 90% of the weapon nerfs are due to implementing a skill tree system where you can massively buff range, cool downs, and heat. Then they get confused when weapons are strong

Yeah, people are overreacting. My Deathstrike build is not changing at all, 2 Gauss, 2 ERLL, 4 ERML same 80 damage alpha. My mech with highest avg damage, Hellbringer, will swap 2 HLL for 2 ERLL/LPL, more heat efficient and less duration, still 50/52 damage for just 12/16 tons and 46.8/45.2 heat per alpha with 25/23 DHS.

I'm happy for you that two builds you use aren't affected much. You can understand, I hope, that other people use other builds which are more heavily affected? Particularly lights and mediums?

I don't really get where this prevalent "It doesn't bother me much so I don't understand why it bothers other people" attitude comes from...

people are definitely not overreacting

this change destroys multiple builds and playstyles, and forces players to completely relearn the game as well as relearn muscle memory skills

PGI chose the absolute most invasive and worst possible way to balance clan lasers.

all they had to do was lower the damage on clan lasers. it wasnt that hard PGI. you done !@#$ed up.
