Prove it, and not just from assumptions.
This one is simple to prove. Follow me please.
Bigger = More Surface Area. More Surface Area = Larger Area of mech that will be able to be targeted. Larger Target = More Hits. More Hits per Match = NERF.
Seriously, this is just straight up simple logic. Hell draw a 10in x 10in square on your wall. Then draw a 12in x 12in Square on the wall. Throw Dart at squares on wall over and over. Count the number of dart that land in squares and you might be surprised to find that more dart land in the 12in x 12in Square than the 10in x 10in square.
Is that enough proof that making the barrel longer and taller than they are currently will result in a nerf???

Pgi: releases artwork of bloodasp showing large cannon mounts.
Community: orders mech packs.
Pgi: releases blood asp with shorter mounts.
Community: "why is it not like it was in the original art?!? We want a refund!"
Pgi: changes the mounts
Community: " god damn it this is a nerf, I want my money back!"
Wtf is wrong with you people? Can't you read the disclaimers that state the mechs/builds are subject to change?
Fair enough. Hey people who want the barrel length changed. Can't you read that mechs are subject to change? Guess what, they changed from long to stubby. Thanks. K. Now stop whining about the barrels being changed to stubby.

Haven't you guys learned already not to pre-order or order new mechs? If you're going to spend real money, give it a month or month and a half after release to bypass all the nerfs and NEVER pre-order. I thought that would go without saying now. This is PGI we're talking about.
I haven't been talking about my Pre-Order. My pre-order was the standard pack. Long Barrels, Short Barrels, Great Mech or Horrible one, that is the chance I took on my Pre-order of the
standard pack. My purchase of the Hero and the Reinforcement Pack now, well those were based on the "Released" version of the Blood Asp, after I had a chance to review the "Released" model in game, read and viewed commentary and Youtube videos on the performance of the Blood Asp and personally tested out the Blood Asp by using the variants I got with the Standard Park. That decision is based totally on the again "Released" version of the Blood Asp, the one I like the look of and enjoy playing in the game right now using the current model. This is my issue. I spent $30 additional dollar on the Blood Asp
AFTER release because well, the mech was released in its final form sans any re-balancing. The change to the barrel length has nothing to do with re-balancing, rather it is pure cosmetic and due to a subset of the community that wants the mech to "Look Cooler" which will result in a straight up nerf to the mech.
So when I say refund. I am ONLY talking about the additional $30 I invested because of the current, release version of the mech. Further I am totally, 100% ok with the change as long as the result of the change does not end in a nerf to the mech. Therefore if PGI would like to add maybe 15 armor to each ST to compensate for the increase vulnerability increase the size of the hit boxes will result in, then I am cool. If not then they will have one very unhappy "Whale" that spends quite literally hundreds of dollars on this game yearly. I mean I have I think 223 variants owned in total and have owned at least 100 more variants, most bought with cash, that I have sold off over the years. I absolutely do not need a single new pre-release mech to be able to play and enjoy the game. Quite honestly if I think about it I have like $2k cold hard cash invested in this game or more since release and if PGI goes through with this nerf for such a silly reason as to make the mech "Look Cool" I am done with Mech Packs.
