The beak? Yeah, we need the beak. Or do you mean the talons?

If you didn't conveniently cut the quote then you wouldn't need to ask.

If you looked at the original art, you'd know the concept art got that "distinctive feature" wrong. It's too high, the current version is the correct height.

Make it longer? Yes.

Make it taller? No.

Plus it isn't missing that feature - does it or does it not have shoulder cannons that are higher than the cockpit?

Does it have a beak?

Does it have taloned feet?

If anyone wants to see where all this is coming from just go to Russ's account of Twitter.

He just randomly came on one day and said, "We have listened" or something like that and posted the Blood Asp with the much taller, much longer weapons pods. No clue were it came from because all I saw as a few forum post from a few people that while they liked the Blood Asp, the wish it had longer barrels. No one was clamoring for or getting rip roaring pissed off about the geometry change, rather it was a few people commenting they would have preferred the longer barrels.

I think that is yet another thing the pisses me off. None of the people who wanted the longer barrels were overally upset or pissed off that the release model didn't included the longer barrels, all they were saying it they wish it would have had the longer barrels or would have perferred it had the longer barrels. Well on the flip side that isn't true. I know I am pretty pissed off (Obviously) about the changes and I think from the responses I have read that quite a few other people are going to be royally flipped about it and I am sure that many, many of those poor souls that don't read twitch or the forums that log in one day to these "Look Cool" barrels and find there Blood Asp's getting their ST's ripped off because of it are going to be royally flipped off as well.

So yes it makes absolute sense royally tork off dozens and dozens of players who are fine or actually like the Blood Asp as is and will be pissed off when it gets nerfed by the change to please a few people who would have preferred the longer barrels. Smart business move there PGI, real smart.

Part of me can't wait. Part of me hopes it never happens. Part of me wonders if I'm on an island.

I have always thought I was on an Island. It is called the Western Hemisphere and it is surrounded by water so technically that would make it an island right. Now Russ and the PGI crew, well they are on a tiny row boat looking at the "Island" the rest of us are on and apparently wondering what the hell is wrong with us Posted Image

I'm wondering why they are bending over backwards for this stupid mech and not more important ones that have needed fixing for months and years now...

No clan bias my ***..

Couldn't find it but i'll link this..

I'll just narrate the comic from what I remember I guess:

One mech is traveling along a road and meets up with two other mechs with larger than normal side torsos (than what you'd expect anyways) and they say something about how they didn't expect what they got. Then another mech comes in from the shadows with huge side torsos to "one up" the other mechs saying something about aesthetics and not trusting them or something. The comic isn't as crisp as the quoted one above, but it's not totally ms paint unskilled.

Also: 1 more row or column on that mech and you could fire all 30 mrm missiles of an mrm 30 simultaneously Posted Image.

Gimme 2 or 3 energy hardpoints and we'll talk.

Ain't that the truth.

Just look at the my poor Banshee. It went from having 5 energy hardpoints located way up high in the shoulders to only 3 with 2 of them being moved down to waist level simply because of a geometry update. Huge flipping nerf for a mech that wasn't even remotely good enough in the first place to be nerfed. Not one word about it from PGI either when it was pointed out nor was there any "Compensation" for the, and lets give PGI more credit than they are due, assumed unintentional nerf to the Banshee. That is why I think PGI is just going to slap on those monstrosities of gun mounts onto the shoulders of the Blood Asp and ALLOW the mech to be nerfed without a care in the world. I mean why care. They already got just about as much money as the can out of it at this point so who gives a hoot if the people who bought the Blood Asp don't want to play them any more because of the change.

This. so much this.

Where is the horde of people crying out for enormous shoulder pods on twitter and forcing PGI to make a significant change to a mech post release?

I assume Russ simply doesn't listen to anyone bar his one or two pet favourites and one of them mentioned that they liked the bigger pods and here we go, all change!

Make you wonder right? I just wish I new where they are getting their data. It obviously isn't here because I am seeing a very strong leaning toward "Don't make the barrels longer" from responses in this thread. If the Masses really wanted the longer barrels, wouldn't like 80% or more of the posts in this tread be shouting me down rather than agreeing with me. Nope, something has to be wrong with their date collection method.

People are seriously over-exaggerating the impact this will have.

It's pretty hard to miss this kind of target when the model has blank gray borders around the CT to make it super obvious where you need to shoot. Longer shoulder cannons won't change this.

From post #1

Note: I know there are alot of people pleased with the changes or else this issue wouldn't have came up so you don't have answer back that your pleased or happy about the change. I am more curious about if I am the only one really upset at the incoming nerf/geometry change on the Blood Asp.

Well...you said you didn't want people to post...which one is it, you want people to post or no ?
Also, people have mentioned where they saw the supporting arguments and time and time again those against have ignored and cherry picked bits of statements to support their views. People aren't posting because there is nothing to add, they have voiced their support and likely don't feel the need to do so across multiple unrelated threads. This thread is about a refund and I have yet to see an overwhelming demand for refunds for when this happens.

Shouting does not give more weight to one's argument, nor does making threats in various threads or making multiple posts.

Nothing is left to be added to this topic IMHO as it's going in a circle and it seems more like an attempt a bumping a dead conversation.

At the risk of repeating myself, that's because most players aren't aware of the change. We will have to wait and see what happens when/if the change goes live.
