Here’s an insider look of the Texture Artist’s work on Weapon Retrofits:





While old weapon hardpoints are removed, new weapon hardpoints take place where every piece must be textured, assigned a material, and then painted with every camo pattern that the ‘Mech supports with approximately over 25-30 patterns per ‘Mech,





‘Mech hardpoints consist of many different weapons where each is painted to match seamlessly to the ‘Mech’s surrounding camo pattern and materials.





For example in the image below, the Dragon ‘Mech’s weapon retrofitted hardpoints in the front center torso, side torso and arms, you can see the red pieces which represent the geometry that change depending on the equipped loadouts, while the white geometry represents the ‘Mech body.

Looking at the second image below of our CURRENT non-retrofitted Dragon Hero ‘Mech, the pattern would be significantly modified if the retrofitted version above each hardpoint piece of geometry was not re-painted exactly like the original with the pattern on the front. This is where some ‘Mechs can take significantly more time than others to replicate its’ original appearance and details with the number of red geometry pieces to re-paint.

I'm just concerned about the state of the inter-weightclass balance. Sure, I'm excited for the Vulcan(I preordered the Collectors pack after all), but with Lights as a weightclass in an abysmal state(which they have been since June 2016), I can't help but be concerned that the Vulcan will become yet another "better Light than the Lights" mech. That, plus the continued dominance of the Heavy weightclass is contributing quite massively to the current balance issues.

Please adjust the Hunchback retrofits. The unique look the chassis had is now. On the 4G, 4H, and Grid Iron it actually looks worse than years ago before you gave the ballistic hunches their unique appearance when mounting autocannons. Changing the head-mounted energy weapon mount to a standard one instead of keeping the special one they had was very disappointing as well.

Please improve FP.

I couldn't care less less about your constant trivial tweaking of textures and geometry. Cosmetics make zero difference when the entire end-game of MWO continues to be so shallow.

FP needs logistics, careers and meaningful goals ... just as it was described in your Powerpoint charts all those years ago.

FP needs first players... and most players prefer Quickplay because the long waiting times in Faction Play.

Without radical reduction of the number of queues that split the playerbase and improved tools for teamwork - in quickplay and faction play - logistics and careers don't change anything...

Speaking about tools for teamwork:
Create a VOIP Channel if a player creates a group. Players that joint that group also join the VOIP Channel.
Move the whole channel to the Team Channel when the group join a Server.
(MWO use Teamspeak as VOIP Solution, and Teamspeak support movement of sub channels.)

12 vs 12 is also a mess, add a 13th player as commander with acces to the Battlegrid & Specator Mode.

So.......nothing about factionplay? wonderful, back to endless farming free mc from events, and wondering when mw5 will stop being the end all and be all, and youll get back to actual content........not mechpacks......and certainly not mechs that have been queued for injection since openbeta.

I really wish there was an easy path to faction play. It seems like they'll catch heat regardless of how they try to fix it... it illuminates one of the core issues with immersive multiplayer gameplay with this many variables; no matter how hard you try, humans are gonna screw it up one way or another and the rest with complain that what it is in reality is nothing like it was in their heads...
