I know this is a bit naive and like that since I know a lot of people buying these are already through-familiar with them, but shouldn't the page read if it's an IS or Clan mech? Ordinary mechpack pages always read either Clan collection or IS collection.

Your right the Evolution pack web-page is very odd as it does not specify IS or Clan anywhere.
https://mwomercs.com/evolution

The faq page says (and I quote both lines)

"Q: Are these Clan 'Mechs OmniMechs or BattleMechs?"
"These Clan 'Mechs are standard BattleMechs. They do not use the OmniPod system."
https://mwomercs.com...hi-charger-faq/

However:
The Charger started production in 2665 and is 110% fully and absolutely IS (Inner Sphere)
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Charger

And that the Hatamoto-Chi started production in 3042 and is... IS (Inner Sphere)
Hatamoto-Chi is a a combination Thug and Charger, so missed opportunity for Thug sales?

FYI: It lists "5" variants, three core, one (S) and then the Hero, for $55. There are technically only 4 variants, with a repeat one for the (S) version.

As for the medallions and and standing items, they should work on any mech they are equipped into, not just IS mechs.

You are correct about 4 variants and 1 special, I've edited my original post thank you.

The Standing and Hanging XP/CBill 5% buff items have previously been only for IS and only for Clan depending on which packs you purchased. If going for all 8 of items then the packs are not cheap.
As I've previously stated: they only work on the mech your playing if equipped in cockpit.
And IS item can not be equipped on Clan mech and visa versa.

If these Evolution buffs do not discriminate between Clan/IS then what say the owners who purchased all 4 Ultimate packs of either the Civil War and/or Civil War: Escalation to get those same buff items?
As such an owner the $260 for all 4 ultimate packs was a cost only worthwhile for those 8 buff items.
Had I known that in a few months I could get a 4 buff items that were both IS + Clan for only $110 then let me assure you I would not have bought any Ultimate Civil War packs.
Honestly I would've only gotten the collector packs but for only 3 of those mechs, out of the 8 offered.

Here is the details on both of the previous mentioned Civil War packs.

The colors and camo are in the preorder bonuses, just like always.

Were you planning on running it stock? Posted Image

no, but a lot of cbills would be spent to upgrade armor, structure, and engine to make room for adequate weapons. Should I choose to play in comp play, it would be a no go. Besides, I believe that a Battlemaster could do what this does better....now if PGI decides to implement a system for melee weapons then this may not be as terrible.

Agreed. The head needs a rework. It looks like it was done right first and then squashed to make it flat. It should not be flat.
Fortunately, the 3D-modellers can fix that problem. So do it, please!

First let me welcome you to MWO. We need new players. You will find that MWO features a MechLab in which you can change the Mech to your liking. Have fun!

I've actually been playing since December of 2012 but just never participated in the forum until recently. THe mechlab is great, but I shouldn't have to spend a few million cbills for a mech to be playable...

I hope the Charger has some decent survival quirks because it looks like it's going to have some pretty mediocre hitboxes. Posted Image

The "View Early Adopter Rewards" buttons open on-page pop-ups for each mech: standing item, decals, colors, pattern, and c-bills.

I'll pass along the discrepancies on the sales page and FAQ to PGI staff. They're otherwise listed correctly in the Gift Store.

I think the biggest problem with the Charger's head is that it is just too wide. The TRO art shows it as being pretty 'boxy' with a rounded top, but it is far more slimmer. If they just reduced its width I think it would look a lot closer to the source material and would no longer look like the Highlander's long lost brother.

Actually, the Charger had a minimal Loadout because it was an Assault Scout. yes, you read that right.

Ah, I don't really care anymore, I have decided that I am not going to buy either Mech and I will just wait and see what Clan Mech / Mechs come out next month. I have bought too many Mechs based on nostalgia and most of them I have either sold or they sit stripped down in my Mechbays.

So PGI picked the 1 picture out of thousands that they stumbled across on someones 2012 deviant art webpage of a charger body with a centurion head, holding a pneumatic roofing nailer gun.
Let me make sure I completely understand this, basically it all boils down to the fact that there is at least 1 PGI staff member who would actually fail the elimination game called "which one of these don't belong here" when watching sesame street...

https://orig00.devia...ter-d4xldue.jpg

There's a few possibilities. That deviant guy has been doing quite a few official BT arts in recent years, and might be the second artist I heard about?

Its similarities to the Highlander makes it incredibly easy to make by just modifying said mechs? (PGI has been getting cheaper and cheaper, noticed the Atlas butt-sway on the Flea, despite how it makes no sense with the movements of its body while running and even breaks the hip joints?)

Could go on, but yeah.

Hatamoto-Chi looks sexy (it should be available only for Kurita loyalists) why it doesn't have left hand?

Because the Hatamoto-Chi doesn't have a left hand, just like the Charger.

As for exclusives, well PGI's system of monotization, lack of game depth, etc. in MWO prevent that from being a possibility.

When it appears in the Battletech PC game as part of an expansion, and in MW5 Mercs, I would expect to only be able to find them in Kurita space and close to Kurita conflicts.

Out of curiosity, if the Charger had the maneuverability of the Summoner, what would be your thoughts then?

It would still be worse than the Warhammer/BK/Grasshopper, you don't have more slots for DHS and you still carry less weapons, and you will have larger hitboxes so you'll take more damage when trading.

Does PGI usually post the quirks before a mech launches? If so how soon before?

They do, usually a few days before release.

1.) This is just going to taunt me further that the game has no melee. What's next? Release Hatchetman with no melee?

2.) Xin Sheng mechs when?

Hey that's a great picture of the Charger with Ewoks.
I know I know you thought I was going to say
the 7 dwarfs

Wait I just remembered that
no one likes Ewoks...

Cool, and after finding those first 3 errors I didn't even think to check the gift store.

Hear hear. Because HATCHETMAN! - You know HBS is gonna set the Hatamoto- Chi right (hopefully with a katana [or just give us a No-Dachi]) and give the Charger a chance to actually charge other mechs...

I'm so done with the Gotta-buy-3-mech pack garbage.
