Why I Mute Voip (Qp)

I just wonder if I am alone in this regard, or if anyone has some argument that might sway me to put it back on I'd like to hear it, or if anyone else has similar feelings and/or anecdotes.
For a while now it really feels like QP has been getting purposely trolled, and I honestly don't see a real solution there, other than not playing QP of course.

Yep already had the pleasure to experience the salt being mined there. A few days ago i got called an idiot and shot in the back a few times for "blocking" when there was obviously about half a mile between me and the other wall but of course i guess the guy couldnt press w and a at once due to limited brain capacity and get around me in advance. Oh well i remember who it was so i guess next time he needs help ill just look the otherway since hes so pro he obviously doesnt need the help of other lesser players in a team game.

So far VOIP has helped more than harmed. And that's all there is to it.

I agree with you on that its helped and great for target calling to win games. If I find a person that over time and many games just rips into his team and being an ****** I just either mute him or report him if it's too much. That person should go play COD or something and leave real games to the MechWarrior Community.
In general, it's best to mute and wait for team leaders to make some calls to win games and not mute altogether because of some *******.

my finger hovers over the drop buttons (both FP and QP) like its some type of electric shock treatment
I was told that my call for the assaults not to go to epsilon on Canyon Network was a bad call
I finally said its your Mech do what you want
all call outs are only recommendations bottom line is your not obligated to follow any instructions
I do wish they would allow organized teams back into quick play
I was just at the tail end of this but we sure learned a lot from teams
I used to say you might get your butt kicked but you learned something

You're kidding, right? The only thing I ever learned from getting smashed by a premade while dropping casually was that I was apparently not allowed to drop casually by myself and have fun at the same time. seriously, running into premades over and over again in QP was terrible and not fun at all unless you were part of the premade.

That said ... all those people spamming the help command or just saying "I need help" aren't much better. What do you need help with and where might be useful if you actually want help? Sometimes like last night the JM6 under attack for once did tell us he was being attacked by 2 lights after I asked and we were able to reverse, harass from range to force the lights to have to split attention and then save him. Sadly most of the time they don't bother and its unlikely we'll risk the team to try to save them. You'd think people would learn but the current Tier system doesn't in any way link to skill or appetite to improve.
You might not like it but its a team game even in the solo queue and almost always the coordinated team wins.

Solo and group have always been very different. Its easy to get into a group and play if you really want to learn without being totally farmed which was the previous problem (and is still prevalent in FW). Ironically the way the group queue is organised (tonnage restrictions the larger the group) small groups get a large advantage.

Allowing solos into the group queue is much better than allowing groups into the solo queue. The latter is just too disruptive.

But when you hear someone suggest a basement strat on HPG, and hear a chorus of affirmatives, you at least have a heads up on the dumpster fire you're about to witness.
EDIT: You're absolutely right though. Watching the map and lock data is a thousand times more useful than VOIP, and the moment you start using those to make your decisions instead of the gibberish people say over VOIP, the better.
