I got the pack before the announcement, but, still. I can't bring myself to like this reply. The tweet very strongly implied an exclusive bonus for those who purchased the pack before the cutoff. Quite frankly, even if you don't purchase the mechpack, as long as you play the one game on that day, it doesn't matter if you got the pack or not. Therefore, it very much seems like a blatant bait and switch from a consumer point of view.

I know you and the rest of the PGI team are probably exhausted right at this moment. Mechcon would take it all out of anyone. I am, however, interested to see how you all decide to handle this once you're all well and rested.

Agreed. I think I pre ordered before the tweet because I loved the original warhammer but after that comment which 100% implied people should order in the pre order window I will refund on principal alone. Not a good business move so I’ll vote with my wallet.

There is no other way to interpret that tweet than to assume early adopters were going to get some sort of bonus content.

I'm holding onto my pre-order because I believe you guys will rectify the situation, but if you don't I think a lot of us will cancel the pre-order.

The primary complaint with the pack was the lack of hardpoint diversity among the variants, and this is a good time to address that with another apocryphal variant. (dakka plz)

As someone that didn't buy it, that tweet does seem to strongly suggest, if not outright state, a bonus for the preorders. I can understand not making a statement immediately, with con fatigue, so waiting until you're rested is a good idea.

But if there isn't anything for those that preordered, this is going to look like a bait and switch to a lot of people. There should be some bonus for those that preordered, as even if one wasn't outright promised the implication of an extra bonus is very strong. And, based off comments earlier in this thread, you might lose quite a few orders if you don't do so. Morally and economically, giving an extra bonus seems the right thing to do here.

Ditto. Last year we got the sun spider holiday bonus hero regardless of owning the sun spider pack or not. I only bought the warhammer IIC pack to fill a drop deck tonnage math hole in my clan faction deck (where I lacked an 80 ton option) but if this is going to be a repeat where every player gets an alternate hero version of the mech, regardless of owning the pack, then I can save myself $20 USD. I'm swimming in premium time, I don't need more colors, or a camo unlock, or decals. And I already said in an earlier post that if I didn't like the reveal for why I REALLY wanted to pre-order in the early adopter window instead of after, I'd be refunding it.

What's the relationship between "wish you did (buy before countdown over)" with the holiday bonus??

Easy fix, too. The -5 has HAG, but those can be changed to UAC10 eeeasssiiily. Do that, call it the WHM-IIC-A, and you'd have a c-bill version with 1B in each arm, 2E in each side torso, and 1M in the head. A non-hero ballistic option, and I didn't even need to strain myself to think of it.

This doesn't work because you won't actually receive the Holiday bonus until the same time as the Warhammer IIC. Not only that but if I really liked the performance of the hero there is nothing stopping me from buying the standard pack normally. All I would miss out on the regular pre order bonuses that people generally no longer care about.

Where is there space to wish I would have ordered before the early adopter cut off?

Hm. Yeah, does seem a bit munchy, all things considered. If the free holiday 'Mechs are available to anyone who plays on that day, as the holiday bonus 'Mechs were last year, that doesn't offer much support for the "you're gonna be sorry if you don't preorder" tweet.

I'm not normally one for the entitlement whining, but... y'all baited us hard with this one, between the two-month early adopter window and the "something special!" tweet. It is not going to be good for PR if there isn't something extra for Clan Wham early adopters, especially in light of what's gone on with other games recently (specifically Bethesda and the myriad Fallout76 fiascos). Bait-and-switch is very much a phrase that's on gamers' minds right now.

PGI has an opportunity to show that it's a better kind of company than that. Please don't disappoint.

This is NOT what they were tweeting. Unless ofc the colors (or some other thing) from the preorder will grant you some C-Bill bonus, which I doubt.

The "wish you did" comment made me think pre-order guys got another perk. I was thinking along the lines of the MADIIC-8 extra mech. NOT the freebie hero (which is better) but for everyone. Not just preorder people.

Only PGI's can sell a mechpack with some cockpit flare and call it "Content". That right there is proof they have no *******idea what "Content" really is.
