Well this time its REALLY a "challenge" but a bit boring - nothing more then farm so far... Posted Image

P.S. better to change 750 assists for 750 kills OR assists... coz, you know, itys really no point to KILL enemy now...

If they don't die, they don't give assists.

I hate assist and kill challenges cause on assist ones you get punished for doing real work (IE killing them) and kill challenges promote too much kill stealing - dont mind KMDD though, fortunately kill and KMDD tend to go hand in hand most of the time.

Yeah, but PGI would need to ask for far less with a Kill/KMDD Challenge, due to the amount of required work and/or effort to get it done. Anything more than 225 Kills/KMDDs (1 Loot Bag for every 3 Kills/KMDDs, essentially) would exceed being within the realm of reasonability. :(

Frankly, I still like my idea on the previous page of this thread where I suggest usage of Savior Kills as a Loot Bag metric. It literally boils down to "Keep your Teammates ALIVE, and every 2 times you successfully do it, then you get a Loot Bag", up to a total of 150 Savior Kills, which factors out to 75 Loot Bags in total. Basically, those who are willing to work as a Team will get their Efforts turned into Rewards, and others will finally have to learn to work together & communicate instead of being self-serving toxicity against their Team. :)

There's definitely a limit to watch out for between something being a Challenge, and having it just turn into a painful grind that becomes totally unenjoyable. :mellow:

Hang on, so with Phase 3, I get a loot bag every 100 match score, so does that mean if I get 400 score in one match that I get 4 bags?

Cheer up, it is possible. I am using an ER-PPC Urbie and I am halfway through the Assist Challenge. Use some Strategic Strikes to get the Assists and damage.
And believe me - I am NOT a pro gamer but a mech daddy.

Correct. Also, it's cumulative between matches, if you get 199 Matchscore, those 99 aren't lost, they will add up to the total.

What's the big deal about hitting 750 assists? As far as I can tell, all you get is a Leprechaun distraction in your cockpit.

Don't think so. If it's cumulative match score the challenge would say 0 / 2500 match score, like the damage one saying 0 / 50000 and the assist one saying 0 / 750. However here it says get 100 match score, and the tally says 0 / 25.

That means you need to do 25 matches, each match at least 100 match score. SO, anything is wasted above 100.

You need 175 (I think?) loot bags to get a free mech. The assists is a large chunk of that.

After a week, here's my thoughts on all this:

The Damage is better post-fixing, the assists are still a pain to do and actively encourage you to not do your job. That these make up most of the bags and there's only 25 that you can be sure you'll get in one game is extremely dumb.
Overall this is the absolute worst lootbag event I've participated in. The previous matchscore based ones you could easily get 1-2 bags a game as a half decent player. This one a decent player will need 2 matches for a single bag, or 3+ for the mind-boggling stupid assist challenge. This is an absolute grindfest, and absolutely terrible for anyone that can't shove several hours every day into the game.

You can sell them. Kodiak goes for almost 8 mil.

I don't fully agree, with the constant rotato potato and subsequent loss, my match scores have been suffering (I mostly play oddball non-meta mechs), so just a pure damage low effort event like this is quite nice. I am a big fan of loot bags, although I suspect I might need to push a bit more to get the damage done in time. I like that this one is just play normally and you get stuff, not solo kill yolo bs.
@Matt, any chance at maybe extending this by a few days, it really is fun and the less pressure there is to git gud with the challenges the better the community plays.
