I did the close client and try again after 5 minutes, and still getting it, be a minute or 2 will try again

Bleh....

I'm going to throw in the towel here for a bit. I'm going to have PTS shut down. There is no point if the game is locking players out with this Error 63 issue which appears on external servers but not internal (which is where QA tests) servers. I don't have an ETA on when it will be back up, this Error 63 HAS to be fixed before I'm willing to give it a thumbs up for a re-try.

That being said, when it comes to the rewards and event, I'm making the following change to the requirements:

- As a thank you to everyone who tried to help out with testing (we did get some good data), anyone who went through the motion of logging in will receive all rewards outlined in Matt's post about PTS and the number of matches played requirement is getting chopped. This includes anyone from Monday 4PM when we put PTS online, onward to today.

I want to thank everyone for their efforts on trying to get us performance/feature data. We do have data showing us how the 12v12 teams were assembled in terms of group size and how it dealt with group sizes and making teams in descending team size order. We also have data on what transpires on a phase change and that seems to be working okay outside of this Error 63 spam.

For transparency, the Error 63 spam I'm talking about is something that is going wrong after a phase change and it's causing a major hit on the backend database. This spam (almost like a DDoS) is locking threads and tables which causes the erratic behavior of kicking people/not allowing logins etc.

I apologize for the up and down status of PTS and will notify as soon as I get more information as to the cause and potential fixes for this problem.

I tried, but could never even get the PTS to launch - said connection issue after the log in screen.

I'm hoping for an extension of time - I only managed to get 1 test match in so far.

You only need to log in (which you've already done)... matches played is no longer a requirement. You will get full rewards.

While we're here I just gonna say it since for some reason nobody really adressed it before. 6 hour long fixed gamemodes (especially scouting and incursion) will outright kill what remains of FP population, hope it will be done as some sort of events only.

Technical diffuculties are understandable. Hope it will get fixed ASAP.

Also what really could encourage people to participate in testing in my opinion is a good chunk of GXP or even GSP. Mechbays and MCs aren't that desirable anymore but being able to skill like 3 mechs for partisipating in PTS would be quite good reward for people's trouble.

Thanks for recognizing everyone who tried to complete the event. I struggled for a while on limited time, but didn't manage to meet the 4 match requirement.

Priority for next PTS needs to be increasing the match creation timer so we can see how the MM really takes effect. Minimally players should only be sorted for matches every 90 seconds for scouting matches and 180 seconds for 12v12 (though a full 300 seconds is probably better for the large groups).

Aw man, I JUST found out about the PTS TODAY and I got home to install, (which just finished) but then it tells me the server's down... so I read this.

did the same thing. downloaded, patched, tried logging in twice before doing the smart thing and reading the forum post. ah well. at least i've got my PTS client updated for when it's online again

A suggestion maybe PGI can consider if they want to reopen this PTS: Have 3 planets going, each one running a different phase from the other, so that at any one time, testers can try out any one of the 3 phases being tested (Phase 1, Phase 2A, Phase 2B).
