Fact a mechs is judge by quirks alone reminds me of the huge problem this game has always had that quirks simply bandages.

My thoughts exactly. How the hell do you not see that when adding quirks?

+HSL on PPCs means gauss and PPCs without ghost heat correct? If so, some of you whinging about pointless HSL quirks should probably undisplay those tier 1 badges ;)

Stealth armour on the reinforcements add on honestly makes me tempted to buy it, plus those rocket launcher HSL quirks make for some interesting meme builds for Solaris. I expect this will end up in D1 though.

The Marauder II is shaping up to possibly actually not be terrible.

Imagine if you came down there and made these structure quirks to be armor quirks and added them to 4HP as well as good agility there. But no, you have to release another DOA mech.

Unless we talk missile variant, then even worse offensive quirks, no defensive (nice!), and even worse agility!

Good looking piece of garbage is what this is.

lul, literally only variant with interesting hardpoints (4HP) gets ****** hard on quirks.

way to release a piece of trash. That "was" a mech that could potentially make me start playing again. Failed big time there.

Why? Stealth armor on the ECM Nightstar isn't anything to write home about, not sure why THAT would be a reason to buy it. And then 2 Gauss plus an IS ERPPC is pretty underwhelming for a 100 ton assault... Not going to expect high damage scores out of that one.

The Stalker walk!

Possibly like the King Crab, it might have a little twist.

Please don't emulate the King Crab exactly... prefer the Stalker walk over the King Crab's own take and tweaks to the Stalker walk used to make the King Crab walk..

structure quirks, and hardly any worth while offensive, either the hit boxes are stella or....

IS mechs cant use 3 ER PPC - not enoth heatsincs.
No one model use 3 PPC here so WTF this quirks??

This mech need armor heat and range quirks. maybe HSL for Large lasers.

I have to admit I'm slightly interested in the 4HP trollrocket build. There's a lot of meme potential there.

That +2HSL on rockets lets you alpha 4 RL20s for 23 total heat for an alpha of 160 damage. You could do a left/right combo and not overheat lol.

Swap out the arm lasers for 4 LPLs and its got decent firepower for the rest of the match.

The way I see it, the MADII is a second line fire support mech. A 100 ton fire support mech. The structure quirks arn't there to make you harder to kill in a straight up fight, they're there to make you a bit less susceptible to overheat damage when you unload with your above IS average armament.

Unless ALL the variants that didnt get structure quirks have suppirior hit boxes all versions should get the same toughness buffs...and its about time PGI realizes that ARMOR buffs make a mech tougher, structure buffs just make a mech more vulnerable to crit hits to internal components (so in trying to make 1 or 2 variants "tougher" you have instead just increased the chances the enemy has to cit out its internals).


glad I didn't talk myself into wasting money on this...you would think after doing this for what 6+ years PGI would have figured these things out by now (ARMOR>structure)

Chris, please don't cripple this mech for anything that isn't clag, rocket HSL is a joke quirk for a weapon that has a Ghost Heat limit of one that is only fired once with minimum range (actually just remove that too) 8aSRM6 was the most exciting build in this mech's lineup and the whole chassis is looking like Old Yeller.Posted Image

So with an ER PPC HSL +1 quirk you can fire 2 ER PPC 1 Gauss or 2 Gauss 1 ER PPC ghost heat free. Still.... Not enough for a 100 tonner IMO
