Sick of you guys crapping all over BattleTech.

Sick of you not understanding why the IP will never go forward, how lore informed by arbitrary board game mechanics is bad, and how out of touch places of the IP are.

The IP doesn't need wide appeal when they can sell old white grognards a pile of nostalgia. Its crap.

… besides HBS and the community behind MW:LL it´s looking damn bleak .
Let´s see how December pans out, but please don´t hold in any breaths until then …

To be fair, having a stock tournament was a neat idea. Making it the tournament was the bizarre move.

Yeah well it sounded neater than it actually played.

While I don't agree with your reasoning, that is a great song that takes me waaaay back to bouncing on my Dad's knee.

I'm not sure being Last Baby Standing is something to be smug about.

Yes, this is another example of a universe that is somehow more cohesive than battletech. Thank You for providing more examples.

That's probably because it only has 4 entries (Unless there's some comics? I dunno).

It's also absolutely not more cohesive than Battletech. The reason for the world's death is gibberish and the time line of the movies is absolutely ****ed.

But it's still a widely loved and successful series because of it's quality and how fun it is. Imagine that. Something can be a bit silly and not all together well bonded and still be great.

And yet it still doesn't have enough mainstream appeal to attract competent developers or warrant a strong multi-media franchise.

Not everything has to have a multi-media franchise built around it. Thank god for that.

Though I suspect that Mad Max hasn't branched out much because it's not a (Big) studio-owned property, rather than it's "mass appeal" being deficient. And George Miller probably understands that Mad Max is absolutely not set up to be a "universe," unless Max is going to visit 47 post-apocalyptic villages a year.

I'm sorry, you aren't really convincing me that BT is so great with its very narrow appeal to a very narrow demographic or that it wouldn't be greatly helped with a reboot to clean up some of the inconsistencies and make it more approachable.

And you haven't delivered any real explanation for your calls of racism, and have provided only the most petty of "inconsistencies" in your call for a reboot.

And you've made an assumption - That I wouldn't rather see Battletech die as it is than see it be twisted into something it isn't to pander to "approachability." I'm perfectly fine with the franchise dying. Nothing lives forever.

Thats hardly a new description, and I'm hardly the first person to point it out.

The broadest and easiest to draw example is how asian cultures are depicted in the fiction. Especially some of the associated art.

I don't really expect an older white man to understand how any of that is culturally insensitive.

So lets go here instead;

How do you feel about Jihad?
