If the game experience holds up enough for modding, allowing me and a friend to play a cockpit-view version of HBS BattleTech where we take missions and collect robots endlessly, I'll buy. No strong feelings otherwise; haven't preordered but am not bothered by Epic or Russ' business decisions.

Had planned to let the reviews roll in and make a more informed decision post-release. Russ' lying mouth when he pulled his Epic Exclusive stunt turned out to be as informed as I needed to be. Not buying.

Well, I'm remaining on the forum, not really remaining when it comes to playing MWO lol. I feel it has run it's course for me. It took about 5 to 6 years to do, so I call that a win.

I kept my MW5 preorder. Not crazy about how everything went down, but it wasn't quite enough to cause me to cancel.

I can use Epic as a MW5 launcher I suppose. It's all it will be used for though.

You will most likely not even need Epic to launch MW5. From other games I have from Epic, when you create a link from the installation folder and not let epic do it, you can start them without even haveing Epic running.

I cancelled my pre-order. I don't know if I will ever pick it up at this point. Too many burnt bridges and all that.

But I honestly don't hate PGI like so many of this game's absolutely poisonous fanbase seem to, and I want to support them,
This games fanbase is what PGI made them to be. You want to complain about the "poisonous" fanbase take it up with PGI as they hold the lions share of blame for the toxicity.

What EPIC is doing is good for the industry. Steam needs competition and its a shame people are too stupid to see that.
Competition is good, but what Epic is doing is not good for the industry only for themselves.

Competition is making a better product enticing people to use it. It's not saying hey if you want to play this you have to use this product because you have no choice. Don't get why people don't understand that

Don't pe order or buy anything until it's official release. I want to see some reviews before i drop anything.

There's absolutely no way I'd commit with PGI after these last few debacles.

But what Steam is doing (charging an outrageous 30% of all sales) isnt good for the industry either. Its also only good for themselves.

So dont act like the alternative of Steam was any better. Steam and Epic are both chokeholding the gaming industry. Both options were bad for PGI.

PGI picked the least bad of two terrible options from their perspective.

Pay 30% royalties or pay 12% royalties and get a guaranteed sales bonus of a couple million up front and piss a couple people off who preordered? which would you choose? Its kindve a no brainer why they went with epic.

No wrong the game is the luxury product that's like saying that going to the store is a luxury product or the highways a luxury product. Is Walmart a luxury product now? Wow you're logic is strange. It's more like Walmart buy all the milk in the world forcing you to buy it at it's store. How is that luxury wanting to buy something were you want to buy it?

How is a video game not a luxury item? How is the storefront relevant in this argument when it is free? How are you being forced to use the storefront when the exclusivity deal is only for one year?

lawl.

I don't particularly care for how they conduct business either; but get real dude.

The game is not the store front! Walmart is not the milk I buy from it. Like I said what Epic is doing is like Walmart buying all the local milk and I have no choice but to buy it there

I am being forced to use a subpart delivery system yes. The game is not the store. Are the items in side a shop the store?
