For the past few months they've finally stopped breaking things (except for making quad-AMS C-bills assaults exclusive to IS, which broke the AMS balance), so don't go poking the bear.

Wish I can trade my single IS quad-ams assault for quad-ams clan's light and medium mechs...

Invisible edges, holes you can be stuck in; you can rip off a whole leg if you shoot the mech's finger, projectiles that fly through the mechs and objects, horrible Crossfire and SLI support, mech that can outrun the ping-pong reply, etc...
And they fixed a button...
Hm... Maybe that patching is needed for their head.

In what game you see all of those things? Because I saw bugs one time per.... hmm.... 50? 100? maybe even more matches... Only bad hitreg + connection-based-issues, but that's not so because PGI cant fix connection and performance of all those "wood-pc" users (P.S. my pc is i5 with 6GB ram+GF GTs 450 and it's all fine at 15-20 fps, never understand pplz who complain about lags-bugs in this game...).

P.S. there is a lot of problem in MWO, sure, but most of it are balance issues, not tech-based. IMHO.

I get major lag issues sometimes but yeah it is always on my end that is the issue( I have a terrible router) it gets really bad if my kids decide to watch videos on YouTube.

Fix the dead que's. 8v8 quick play or combine solo and group que. If you're not gonna continue with heavy content additions then at least make the game playable.

Pretty sure they said the pre-order variants for MW5 would be available for C-bills on Oct. 22nd. Now I'm seeing them pushed back to Dec. 3rd. Thanks but I'd rather go spend $20 on BattleTech's new expansion and support the addition of possible Clan content in the future.

Friendly Reminder: Originally PGI stated those 4 MWO variants were exclusive to those who pre-ordered MW5...
And like a month later they reneged on that.
With all the MWO stuff PGI has reneged on over the years, PGI should be legally renamed:

"PGI 180º Degrees" alias: "PGI - The failed to plan, and plans to fail company."

Just some food for thought.

Check the original announcement. They're true to what they stated then.

There's no denying PGI has brought MWO to the ground, but players don't really contribute squat.

That being said, maybe players woulnd't do the rotato if equipment wasn't so poorly balanced.

But! this game is doomed anyway.

Rotato is a consequence of quick play map design, with the majority of them having big central areas that simply encourage it to fight over and around, along with the modes. Hell they added a mode (domination) which simply made the problem worse and even though they were told it was a bad idea they put it into the game anyway... meanwhile the one they removed is escort (which didn't actually involve rotato behavior).

"Rotato" is a by product of big engine stomp meta.

"Rotato" happens even on maps with NO CENTRAL OBJECT.

The problem isn't with the maps; it's with the player base.

There is absolutely no written rule that says everybody HAS TO meet in the center of the map & NASCAR in QP. It's become the META for all the reasons: game mechanics, player base, map design, ect... With that said, I do not remember that happening in Escort ;) RIP VIPPosted Image

What amuses me in particular is Solaris city... stay away from the city center and your players with LRMs and ATMs can contribute enormously. If its assault or skirmish... just sit near your drop zone... use the buildings for some cover... park ECM jump mechs on buildings to act as spotters....

wait !? what ?
am I reading this right,? you're calling NASCAR a META ?
Map design does not place players in the center, Game mechanics does not either, only thing that places a team in the center are players, and a couple objectives

can map design stop NASCAR, yeah . . could object added to maps stop . . yeah . . . hell look how hard it is to get out of your drop zone in FP, place a few walls like that in the center, won't be NASCAR, but pokey Brawl .., could be fun

Every LRM range was nerfed, from short range direct LOS to long range indirect LOS.

Tripling the minimum time it takes to get a short range (200m) direct lock, does not by any stretch of the imagination result in a net buff to anything.

I started using ATMs as ER-LRMs this month because the average sniper is at least 200m out of maximum boosted LRM range, and that's true even when you're standing 100m in front of your team.

View PostPrototelis, on 18 October 2019 - 10:22 PM, said:

lol, you have boats that lrm to 1000 or just above. No one competent is taking 1400 meter ER large shots; they do like no damage.

View PostT e c h 4 9, on 19 October 2019 - 08:06 PM, said:

Then IMO you aren't building the correct ERLL mechs. All of mine have a base range in excess of 900m, IS and Clan. That means 50% damage at 1350m. I hardly call 50% damage "like no damage".

Tech49 is spot on : I have 1000m LRM range, I stand 100m in front of my team, and the sniper is still 200m out of range, because he's sniping from ~1300m away from my team (meaning ~1200m away from me).

Not only I get shot from over 1300m away, but I even get headshot from over 1300m away : Rare enough, but it still happened to me twice the same day by two different players once.

As Tech49 just implied, with maxed out range boost the sniping damage is still strong in the 1200-1400m range, and depending on the weapon and build only dies off to ~1% damage near 2000m.

To give you an idea of the extent of that maximum sniping range, when I land in the dropzone on a Boreal Vault siege attack, I can start getting hit right where I land by the players who are sniping from well inside their gates. Hit for low damage for sure, and that's because in that case the sniping distance is WELL over 1500m.

Again do stop adding a "lol" each time you're trying to correct someone and get yourself owned again : I already explained to you that only a village idiot does that, in fact that's how you recognize them.

You literally don't know that MOST of the top players in this game play at low DPI.

You literally don't know that a low DPI setting is for low range twitch shooting, and certainly not for sniping.

When you go sniping, you switch your mouse to high DPI for pixel precision aiming.

And the top players don't exclusively use low or high DPI : They use a Gamer mouse to switch in-game from one DPI to another, depending on what they're doing.

Right back at you : You've been proved wrong at every turn, even when you're trying to demonstrate the extent of knowledge by correcting someone, only to successfully demonstrate just how short that extent is.

You've played all the weapons but apparently learned nothing much from any of them.

And either way you're still a biased LRM hater, that can't realistically be trusted for making an honest LRM comment...

It's just that you're quite the ignorant one to boot.

False.

IDF the only thing that got lock-time nerf.

LOS lrms and ATMs are VERY VERY strong right now, especially at mid range.

I don't hate lrms, I don't even dislike people that play them.

I do have a strong dislike for people that play them like you do. Staying behind your team, never presenting, don't even have to aim, and then you brag about it. lol.

I'm sorry, but I really have to ask where you get the things you smoke, because low dpi is the way to go for long range shooting. I literally have a dpi setting on my mouse to drop it so low, twisting is impossible to keep that laser burn on point, or to make sure I hit the exact component I want with other weapons. If this were any other game company, they'd be warning you about spreading incorrect information, and as you don't know any comp players personally that would enjoy talking to you, since most of them find your "information" hilarious, you literally have no idea what you're talking about. seriously. stop. you're wrong.
