The ability to select any other mech of the same chassis, or for a higher cost possibly weight class, after the map has been selected.

THAT is what I want.

anything that lets me swap mechs after the map is selected like in faction play would be good. i think i would do a same weight class or same tonnage rule rather than single class. when you have a mech not suited to the map you usually end up waiting for something to happen and that is not fun.

perhaps have qp drop decks. one for each weight class. there is no respawn and you only get one mech, but if you drop with a medium, then on the vote screen the medium drop deck is displayed and you can pick one. the game might allow you to pick from more than one deck if you have purchased additional decks, so you could expand your options to 8, 12, and so on.

Is there a reason like 4 or so of these answers are your MWO cloud instead of just one? Comes off as kinda disingenuous, no?

Actually, all the answers are part of my cloud proposal. Watch one of the videos instead of listening to uninformed opinions.

Lemme get this straight...

The idea here is that people would pay a monthly subscription fee in order to get access to what essentially comes down to extra bling (warhorns, goodie crates, paint, patterns, etc), which is stuff PGI already gives away fairly regularly; is that right? Knowing that isn’t going to cut it, you propose to throw in this after action report thingy, which as far as I can tell is beyond PGI’s ability to institute (it would require effort, perhaps even actual programming effort, no?), even if players expressed interest in having access to such a feature (which, to put it kindly, they have’t). But lets posit that PGI is all about this cloud/after action report thingy and are just itching to put it into the game. What this poll really comes down to then is “would you pay for a subscription fee in order to find out what went on in a match after the fact?”

For me that is an obvious “no”, but what I would be interested to know is why would anyone but the truly competitive crowd be interested in such a thing, let alone be willing to pay for such a thing? I ask with all sincerity, as nearly everyone I play this game with is pretty much interested in just getting to the next game as quickly as possible, and don’t really care what just happened beyond “well, that was a stop” or “holy crap I did 273 points of team damage with that arty...better drop the next one without me”, etc. All I can envision is that if someone in the future with access to the after action report thingy said into chat: “you know guys, I’d really like to take moment to think about what went right and what when wrong in that last match, now please pay attention to the after action report screen and lets go through the match together.” Realistically that would never ever happen in this game because no one would ever be allowed to complete that sentence, because they would be drowned out with cries of “ready the **** up!” by everyone else in the channel, and if they persisted they would get booted.

Anywho, good luck with the poll, but I just don’t see this going anywhere.

Thank you

However, the reason I put cloud in the title of my proposal is two fold.
  • You are trying to get a 30,000 foot view of everything that happened. This allows you review the enemy tactics, positioning, and see what you missed in the game
  • Putting this information into your "dropbox" or other cloud based storage account gives you access to it when you are not playing. On your phone, at work, where ever. So, you can become better at playing by "reviewing the tape." You can look forward to the next game and applying your new ideas.
Also, because the data is sent to you, PGI does not need to store much additional data and it becomes profitable through low cost and high value.

To your point, streamers and some players will review the data immediately, but there is a lot of waiting to be filled in this game. Most players will want to see certain games later.

The uninformed opinion was directly from what you would post about in twitch chat while I was around. You've only yourself to blame then.

I was not able to make a presentation or even chat during that twitch presentation.

So, my apologies to you. It is very frustrating to see how misinformation and gatekeeping has become the norm in this community. Even against some of the biggest contributors to the community.

Throwing the term "harassment" is a bit harsh considering you have been pushing your idea ad nauseam for litteral weeks.

It's readdit, they have two modes, harassment and claiming social injustice (basically harassing).

Really? I've watched a lot of streams, including your own,and I have never seen anyone (you included) stop for 20 minutes (or whatever) mid stream to discuss what went on in the last match. I'll give you that a truly dedicated player might wish to do a day or so after the fact, on their own, but no streamer is going to interrupt the action to have a discussion/analysis ex post facto for a given match.

How about adding a "Premium Time" feature (might be in the higher tier of Premium Time, if there's such a thing):

~After the match, ability for you to view the mech layouts of everyone on your Team.

~I for one would be interested in this feature (helps me to learn MWO mech layout somewhat faster, as a beginner).

If you mean what load outs mechs can do. Never pay for anything you can get for free. you'll just end up having less money. https://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab

You can load the stock load out and make any build and most will work in game.

Allow me to provide a list of all the games that went from F2P to subscription and succeeded:

Oh look, the list is empty. This game is just maintaining a population as it is. Making people pay for it will strip the majority of players- meaning there is no way there would be enough left to drop 12v12 matches.

Just to clarify:

1. I'm for keeping things as it is: Free-to-Play MWO as it is, unchanged.
ie: only Hero/Champion/Special variants need to pay with real money (or MC).

2. I'm thinking of adding value to an enhanced mode of Premium Time, so as to entice more players to subscribe.
Win-WIn: MWO gets steady revenue, and players get even more value!

3. "Basic" Premium Time" as it is, unchanged.
~OK, perhaps with 3 days of "Platinum Premium Time" for players to try out, once per account.

4. "Platinum Premium Time"
(Sorry, but the word "Gold" might be forever tainted in this MWO game--"gold" mechs).
~After the match, ability for you to view the mech layouts of everyone on your Team.
ie: You can view your teammates' mech layout, same as if you've died and Speculating.
ie: You can see the number/type of Gauss rifles on teammate, and is it in the torso or in the arm?
ie: Was ECM deployed? Did he/she drop AMS as a result?

5. I personally find that there's a lot of information to process once I've died and in Speculating Mode, and in a very short period of time.
~This player has an interesting mech layout, and how is he/she playing this mech?
~Then I don't have time to go to other teammates' layout and miss this info (but what about that other BAS-B layout, how is it different from mine?) etc.

GIve them an animated report that outlines what just happened. Even Comp games could use it to show a better summary of the game that just occurred. I watched a comp match today in which after 2 games, the host tried to explain what happened by memory. It was kind of hilarious.... but this tool would help.

Not once were you timed out during chat on twitch or your comments removed, despite posting the same comments for 40 minutes straight- even after nutty directly responded to your comment on the stream.

If your comments are being downvoted on reddit or responses being made that aren't in line with what you want- have you considered taking a step back and considering why multiple people, who are not 'an army of alts or bots' find your suggestions to be without merit?

And before you say anything - YOU are the one who wants to sell this idea to people. It is on YOU to present it in a manner that makes people go "oh cool, makes sense". Not for everyone else to bend their way of thinking to yours.

That's why I have told you before, that an option for match re-cap would only benefit league organizers, and probably would be on low priority on the development list.

Normal players do not analyze every match for 15 minutes.
People just want to launch the game, play some mechwarrior and then head off.

PGI does not need any sort of subscription to make players start paying again.
They can do a a lot to encourage new players to buy new stuff.... things with an actual substance.

All the features you are suggesting if they are developed need to be there for free... like zero dollars. The features themselves are fine.

You are suggesting incentives such as decals or colors.... but those things are currently available for purchase.
The thing we are trying to do is to ask PGI to regulate their prices and make them reasonable... to make new valuable assortment of different mechpacks tailored to new players with prices that do not equal triple A pre-orders.

No Surn, you are harassing subreddits with this poorly thought out idea and when you've been downvoted you busted out the botted downvote excuse, I expect to see this in federal court scheduled right after Trump's election cases.

He's also insane, not in touch with reality ...and a poor businessman with terrible ideas.
