I imagine we won't have any feedback until it's closed.
Or I don't expect some.
But It's really difficult to not speculate on how it will affect MWO/MW5

You're not kidding. I just caught wind of this, and I'm in shock. Looks like MWO's future may have just turned severely uncertain, with a high chance of everything suddenly destructing into thin air. Who knows what the "New Regime" will suddenly turn around and throw at everyone who's still here right now. Can anyone say "Watch Out!!! You might unnecessarily end up being not here at some point in the future!!!" in regards to this matter?

Let's hope they play their cards right with this initiative!
I called it!

This sounds very positive to me. Financial backing, better marketing.
But I'm a noob and an eternal optimist.
I'll leave you veterans to your flame war hehehehe

"The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021, and EG7 has said Piranha will continue to operate as an independent studio thereafter."

All I keep finding is financial, stockmarket and investor blah blah.
And that EG7 opened its doors in Jan 2020, but no list of EG7 branded games that are out. (as developer or publisher)
Irregardless I hope EG7+PGI aims to mimic Hello Games. Afterall No Man's Sky died in 2016-2017 and now with years of development and patches its actually a fairly decent game that made a great return from the dead.
Heck NMS even got a Golden Joystick Award (today) and was up against some strong competition.

I think there were a couple discussions going on when PGI started making big changes like 8v8 tests, merging queues, and then running non-stop participation boosting events that they might be trying to make themselves look better for an acquisition. That was 6 months ago. These sorts of things don't happen overnight, so I'm leaning in the direction that their motivation for all these sudden changes was indeed them trying to polish up the **** in hopes of selling it.
On the bright side, maybe this means they'll get rid of Russ and Paul now.....
