$40 for kodiak 3 c ?? really pgi ?? i can buy a whole new game for $40 .... too much pgi just too much ...hopefully new owners will make mech prices reasonable so new players wont have to break the bank just to get good mech variants ....greed much ???

You can buy the Kodiak for c-bills. Its not even very expensive. Don't bother with a mech pack unless you are absolutely certain you will need every variant it includes and even then its expensive.

Kodiak is not good, so buying one even for the relatively low c-bill cost might not be a good idea.

There is no technical difference between KDK-3 and KDK-3(C). Their hardpoints, engine limit, stats, size, etc. are identical.

The only real difference is that KDK-3(C) is so called Champion 'Mech that lets you earn 'Mech experience faster. However, since you are going to use that 'Mech for weeks or months, it really does not matter if you master it up one or two days sooner or later.

Thus, in my opinion there is no point in spending cash on Champion 'Mechs such as KDK-3(C) if you can buy the standard KDK-3 for C-Bills..

Usless its a mech you use a lot and has many uses like the rvn-3lc. Some however are utter trash and waste of c-bills and a mech bay like the jr7-fc.

The raven is a bad mech too, and youll have it maxed out with skills fast either way, and then the championness is worth nothing again.

They aren't useless they serve a purpose, that purpose maybe limited but most champion mechs are good to go out the door, many base cbills one's need a lot more cbills to be somewhat viable.

I've grabbed a few Champ mechs over my time here and most are really good to use, i suggest if you do need a champ ever buy them on sales with free mc from events.

That said i'd buy more heroes if most weren't atrocious to use.

Once you max out the xp on a mech, you dont need anymore xp from there, thats why the xp bonus on it is pointless. Ive got mechs with tons of xp that i am not touching because theres just no need to. Its just not worth the MC to buy champions.

With MWO throwing out more GSP (General Skill Points) with purchases with real money, there is even less reason for buying Champion Mechs as it is. MWO had hoped that players would convert the Champion-specific XP into GSP (General XP) using MC currency.

Alternatively, there is still this proposal:

Expand the Champion bonuses into something more (and a bit of CBill bonus too)!

the c variants suck anyway. once leveled the c bonus is mostly useless unless you are grinding for gxp, at 1/10th the rate. and its easier to just farm gxp in solaris by putting in your 25 matches/division each season. and with all the gsp they hand out, gxp is mostly obsolete.

(C) variants are useless, don't waste money on them. the more recent (C) variants are for Trial mech purposes.
