It is true. You were in Tier 3 as outlined for the reasons between the two sets of patch notes that apply to it.

There were that many that tested and verified it at the time. It worked.

It is also confirmed by all the players currently coming back and now starting in T5 as opposed to T3.

I said "actually returning players".

A player who has abandoned the game for the stated period of six months does not have a recurring interest in it, and merely is picking it back up with an account that PGI has conveniently not deleted.

Yeah please stop. If you haven’t played since the PSR reset you land in Tier 5. I know for a fact that’s true, every returning player I have talked to that used to play years back is landing in Tier 5. So yeah, in low tier games a bunch of people who know how to play are going to be absolute wrecking balls there, and it will take some time for that to level out.

They are dying quickly because you have tier 1 players entering the matchmaker at Tier 5
I came back in Tier 3 as well in December. However I also pay attention to patch notes and noticed that after that they changed it to Tier 5.

Please people fact check yourselves before coming and arguing on the forums.

Well, having gone out with favourite mechs that I'm well acquainted with, TTD is down very noticeably. PIR and high number energy boats are stripping anything that can't turn or get its back to something even faster than before with the removal of how many can be used at once. Clan UACs which were in a reasonably good place to begin with are throwing even more damage out than before with limited number of shells and ppd.

I had hoped that the pass would benefit everyone, but its just hyped the T1/2 players even more and the fact they are stuck in QP has turned the game into mush.

This certainly is not the way to introduce and keep new players.

UACs didn't have their shell counts changed. UAC5 and UAC10 in particular, which were the strongest in the UAC family weren't touched at all (therefore, are not stronger), and UAC20 only received minor heat, velocity, and jam duration buffs.

Please actually read the patch notes.

This evening I've been watching T5/T4 streamers. I watched ~2-3hrs each, So 5-6hrs total (joys of having a couple of monitors).

https://www.twitch.tv/hotshothenry
https://www.twitch.tv/wrathfulmonk
https://www.twitch.t...ntanks_in_space (this guy only has 3 mechs!)

It appears they all have VODs enabled so you can feel free to check and verify all of the observations below are correct at your leisure.
  • Most of their games looked very typical of T3-T5. Plenty of 7-10min long games. No one getting instantly shredded unless they YOLOd (normal)
  • Interestingly they were rarely in the others games really and the names in the games were all different.. That means there is a healthy T3-T5 population.
  • Was there some out of character matches? Yes, they were very limited. Given there are some Medium-High skill players returning who are in T5 as per the Patch Notes, they will take 100 games to get back to T3+. When those games occur yes TTK is significantly lower the same as it was when PSR was reset.
  • They all appeared to be having fun doing that T3-T5 thing. No major TTK complaints at all.
So I can only surmise based on all the evidence I saw that TTK does not seem to have had too much of a impact.

I'll continue to watch as I always do and see what happens over coming weeks.

I thought the CUACs had their burst counts reduced by 1?

As per the patch notes.

https://mwomercs.com...400-20april2021
  • cUAC5 and cUAC10 are completely untouched
  • No UAC or cUAC had their shell counts altered.

oh it was only the CACs that had their burst counts reduced. thats stupid. theres still very little reason to use a CAC over a CUAC.

you use CACs over CUACs because they have their burst counts reduced and you can put more shells on the component you want

There is absolutely every reason to use cAC with reduced pallet count and super low heat as they are now much stronger and not wet noodles they have been previously.

Exhibit A MCII-B

Exhibit B MCII-B

Exhibit C DWF-PRIME

Exhibit D NTG-C

Exhibit E NTG-C

There are plenty, plenty more for those that wish to spend some time in the mechlab adapting to the change.

As you mentioned there was little reason to use cAC over a UAC so I don't see how making cACs more desirable over cUACs in certain situations (which now exist thanks to the patch changes) is a "stupid" change.

This.

C-AC 5 specifically, with its new single shell, is quite strong paired with ERPPCs. Folks need to remember though that while C-AC 5 has a nice cooldown the overall build is not intended to replace that of the mega dps C-UACs that have been at the top of pugQ meta for the past few years; these builds are intended to be played at a slightly longer range where the sync'd velocities of the cERPPCs can pin point (you'll see that word a lot in the coming days) a component, adequately cooldown, and do it again.

The purpose offers variety and capability in use that previously did not exist.

Wrong. More velocity, less heat, less shell count.

The bottom half of the playerbase doesn't shoot. Furthermore the aim is generally not very good.

Hence why T3-T5 games last 10mins+ constantly.... It will make absolutely no difference at that level.

I think you're quite mistaken on that point - I'm tier 5 and matches today have been much quicker and much stompier - I think there's some unanticipated consequences of these changes coming out
