Excellent! I really like the look of the new HPG, like a twisty little maze, I hope there's still some underground elements.

New quirks are excellent too, some strong thematic choices, like really good buffs for light mechs that desperately need them, and tanky buffs for assault mechs

Nearly all of my favourite mechs are getting significant quirk boosts. This make me sad.

What excuse am I going to have for being bad after the quirks are Improved?

Based on all these pictures... Well done on making the HPG map look like yet another generic arena. I'm not entirely sure what the problem was that required this change. How many unnecessary map tweak man hours equal one all new map getting made?

Not sure how Shadowhawks becoming more tanky in general makes them "laughable"

"more tanky" - you basically doubled the survival quirks, and improved the offensive quirks. Combined with the previous mobility buff, and rather solid geometry, the Shadow Hawk will probably be one of the strongest mediums out there.

it’s only the “best” map if you like circling the obstacle in the center. Every. Single. Time.

this redesign breathes life into the map. Nascar will not be the default mode and more mechs will have the ability to use the walls. Yes, most players will not take advantage of the new tactical options the redesign offers, but they’re THERE.

Ah yeah, and didn't the canyon redesign stop the nascaring so well...

Lets play a game how many ramps can you count? I count 27 in the first picture.

Right? The brawlers say “oh no, there are more snipers on the walls!” Meanwhile the snipers are saying “ah. Where did all these brawlers come from on the walls! Get them off me!”

it’s gonna be awesome.

I just find the CN9-AH getting a UAC jam quirk weird since the variant has no history of using UACs. That said, I wouldn't mind trying it out with a UAC20.

Saying that a map with so much cover spread around is going to be a sniper feast is absurd.

You will have plenty opportunities to snipe but being too conspicuous will bring unwanted brawly attention to your back in no time.

Oh... If only there was a screenshot of what happened to the basement zone... It would definitely help with how people think about the map... or at least that's what I hope. :o

I enjoyed the old HPG, but I dont really have a problem with the rework, I just hope that we can have both for map variety.

Instead of a map reworking that no one asked, how about making new maps, the variety of maps on this game has long been lacking and to think you are putting resources in reworking fine maps instead of making new ones is baffling and disparaging, also as much as I enjoy a mostly positive buffs quirk pass I worry about this trend to make the quirks almost vanilla and bland, the building /playing factor was in the "quirkiness" of the quirks and the particular marriage of quirks/mechs and lore must be respected and valued, don't just make things vanilla in a effort do please the masses, thank you.

Ah, looks like the Spider 5V, with its worst loadout of all the other Spiders, was just too OP to receive anything more than a useless overheat damage reduction. Why's it useless you ask? Because it cannot actually overheat - it doesn't have enough hardpoints.

my understanding is that big infotech quirks are coming for mechs like that, they just need testing

Actually, we've continued with iterations on both Canyon and Polar Highlands based on feedback every patch, and we'll continue doing so with those maps and now HPG as well.

Okay. I stand corrected and appreciate your honesty in clarifying.

That's a pretty blanket generalization. You can't back that statement up with conclusive facts, so why do that?
