Back in the day, before it got left behind by other mechs and higher alphas and the like, the Centurion was considered an extremely tanky brawler. You'd bring out the -A with 3SRM6A and two MLs and if you were good at twisting players would have to chew through the entire right-hand side of your mech before they could actually degrade your ability to fight.
Survivability buffs will hopefully bring it back to somewhere near that level
Thanks for explaining!

Please recommend us some of your builds!

If all we care about, now, is that there are ramps everywhere and the map is evenly balanced, and we don't give a **** about what it actually looks like, then we might as well go back to the rainbow colored test-maps and stop kidding ourselves that we're trying to create interesting visuals, because the reworked maps look like dog crap compared to what they're supposed to be and what they used to look like, due to the artificiality of the ramps, and the fact that there are ramps EVERYWHERE.
Canyon Network looks Bulldozed and Graded for crying out loud. There's nothing natural about that. I'd rather have a photo-realistic copy of the North Dakota Badlands, or even shallower parts of the Grand Canyon, than a recreation of the local playground sandbox.
IKR!!!

Honestly, "override" is supposed to be hit each and every time you go over 100%, and not be this universal setting that you select at the start of a match. You're supposed to get hit with an auto-shutdown, then override THAT shutdown. If you get another auto-shutdown, you override THAT shutdown. At some point, if you go high enough overheat, you can't override, and your computer forces a reactor shutdown.
The best way to implement this is to decrease the override interval depending on how far overheat you are. If you go only a couple percent over, you get 5 seconds or so to override before you actually shut down (none of this 100.001% and you're offline). As you go higher, the time interval decreases until you hit whatever the cap is (in the original rules it was 30 points of heat over what your heat sinks could dissipate in 10 seconds, but that would probably be adjusted for balance), at which point you auto-shutdown without a chance to override.
In the interim, you also lose mobility and weapon accuracy, and start running the risk of cooking off your ammunition, if you have any. That's how heat works in Battletech, and is one of the major missing balancing factors in this game that is contributing to making laser boats too powerful.
This is the whole problem with MWO in general if you ask me : All kinds of things you need to know in order to be able to play this game properly!
Why is there no Wiki or something similar on the MWO website for new players ?!
I have been playing since 2012 with some breaks now and then and I did not know the above...

Firstly, making sure the map is actually fun to fight on takes priority over looks. This is one reason why maps like blood run, campgrounds, deck17, dust2, and blood gulch are so enduring - they focused on being a fun place to fight, and any flavour came afterwards. Tunnelvisioning on lore when making a map leads to a bad map.
You forgot de_dust
But yeah : I agree with you!

Holy cow, yeah, those are all great.
Also, just saw the unlocking of CAP on MLX. Every bit of tonnage available on a tonnage starved mech is welcome.

Great.
BUT.
Archer needs to have the doors changed to sideways opening. NOT top opening. It's too large and anyone with half a brain cell wouldn't have implemented it that way. And this is coming from someone carrying a torch for lore.
</p>
Not a bad idea!

Question! Not related to this patch, but will we ever be able to work in the mechlab while we're waiting for matchmaking? Sure would be nice to customize mechs (even if the currently selected mech is locked) and do stuff instead of just watching the 'Searching' circle spin round and round. (especially when playing in a pair/group which can take forever to match)
To be honest I would like to see the Chat Windows better available/useable and some kind of "All MWO Players Chat Channel" without having to join any Faction Warfare stuff
I can kind of do it because I use more than 1 screen but it's not very practical...

Agree!
Group drops ruin the Quick Play experience!

On a quirks, I can't say anything, since I'm not deep enough in this theme. Something made me happy, something alerted me, something upset me.
Vitality quirks for light mechs?.. At first, the streaks was killed. When the realization came that the streaks were actually killed, the decision was made to make them a little better: not completely useless against light mechs, but quite useless against bigger mechs. And so, now the survivability of light mechs is increasing, which again returns the streaks to a useless state. I applaud while standing. I suppose no one will ever admit their mistake in making the wrong decision about the total nerf of the streaks.
I thought Streaks were made to hit the Center Torso of Lights a lot better than they did before ?!
Especially when Chain Fired ??

This puts medium mechs in a really weird place. The mist lynx now has almost the same armor as the shadow cat. The shadow cat, as an example, feels absurdly under-armored as a medium mech.
Will an update in the future address this?
Shadow Cat ER PPC Campers need to be removed from the game anyway so no issue there!
I have played "Brawl Style" witth the Trial Shadow Cat a couple times and it works just fine!
All those wannabe snipers ruin all the fun for most of us!

Does this mean there's going to something in the next pass to address all the duel RAC5 and ac2 boats? You want to talk about low heat to high damage output they are ridiculous, even when considering they are supposed to be a lower heat option. While i realise that that testing grounds isn't the best for all tests just try some of those builds and you can strip the awesome on caustic in under 30secs with very little heat build up. i agree that the C-LPL may have needed some adjusting but they are nothing compared to some of those builds.
You have NO IDEA what you are talking about!
RAC/2 and RAC/5 were something that the game really needed and I am glad P.G.I. added them some years ago to MWO

is it just me or did the Arctic Chetah get same quirks on Omni & Non-Omni mechs while getting several omni-blocked slots on omni mechs only?
TBH I am not liking their new staying power I see, but still... why half of them get the buff for free in the end?
did the non-omni need more of a buff & thus the difference in taking slots from them or not?
I totally don't understand your post : Please explain!

Rocket doors open after firing. That is, first the rockets fly out, and then the doors open. This is bad. Return everything as it was. It looks disgusting. Plus, simplifying game mechanics won't do the MWO. There should always be "secrets" known to seasoned players that beginners will have to master.

I don't understand why they change this mechanic.
If managing weapon doors was to difficult for noobs and competitive players, PGI just have to make doors open by default at start of the game.
Dumbing down the game isn't cool indeed!

Rocket Doors: Were crap before. - What's the point to keep them close for a tiny bit of additional armour, when you are missing every shot because of the delay. If you open them anyway at the start of a match, you can just remove them.
I was suprised to hear, that crab weapon doors open and close automatically without delay (I don't have any crab), but all missile doors won't. How much sense does this made?
And I was never sure if I actually caused any damage when shooting the open weapon doors of a catapult. - When it comes to me, you can just remove them completely or make a free bolt-on out of it...
I actually thought they were some sort of animation a.k.a. bolt-on when I started playing MWO and found out they weren't by the time I bought the Archer-2R

My first impression is that the new HPG Manifold is the old Canyon Network. Been wandering about desperately trying to find a way from the top down or vice versa, short of having jumpjets. But take it with a grain of salt, too early to pass judgement. Will try getting used to it, it looks interesting.
I have always been annoyed by that in Canyon for example :
- Slow Assault
- No Jump Jets.
- And both can't be changed on the Dire Wolf for example!
(Not that I would want to by the way...)
And then Canyon Network appears... w00psie!
Good luck with walking a lot of extra miles @ 48 Km/h

Waht happend to brawling, if this goes on the game is dead to me!
What worries me even more : The whole game has seem to gone to (ER) Long Range Lasers and some kind of (ER/Light) PPC fights with the usual LURM crap as the cherry on top!
"What happend to brawling ?!" indeed...
