Great ideas to help make the transition to the new system smooth! I wasn't worried because i'm probably going to go through all my mech's skills anyway, but I know some people were worried. Thanks for putting in some extra effort up front to save the collective player base a lot of time!

Deduced? Are you stoned?

The problem I see is that if you keep making carefully considered, rational and player-oriented changes like this, you're going to change the entire tenor of the relationship between PGI and its customers. It's disorienting.

tsk tsk

I assume all of my import/export skill files will need to be redone. It would be nice to have that confirmed/denied.

I don't mean the actual skill tree for each mech, but the "Import" and "Export" buttons in the bottom right.

Looks good. 5 GSP is slightly too little imo, but it's a really good start!

lol, saw that too

verb
verb: deduce; 3rd person present: deduces; past tense: deduced; past participle: deduced; gerund or present participle: deducing

arrive at (a fact or a conclusion) by reasoning; draw as a logical conclusion.

"little can be safely deduced from these figures"

I mean, it's technically not wrong...
Just weird since Matt should have already known the values...

On a serious note, ADD A FREAKIN WARNING OR CONFIRMATION BEFORE MESSING WITH THE SKILL TREE!

READ SUGGESTION DEMAND ABOVE.

Really simple to do, and will avoid players having to fix a tree for 1 accidental click. Really easy proactive solution to what you know will be complaints by random people. Just tell me the skill tree will be invalidated and must be fixed if I proceed, and give a choice to back out and use old skill tree values.

Thanks for all the hard work guys, please continue to exceed our expectations, even if they ain't gonna stay so low!

Is it 5 gsp per mech, as of like, today? Or is it 5 per of however many mechs you have on patch day?

Who gets GPS, I want GPS, how do I claim my GPS?

Thanks though, that is a nice addition and should smooth most rough edges on the response

Since things could not be done like the earlier (where one could actually VIEW the Skill Nodes as they were presently equipped before anything changed) claims, are the GSP to be given for the total of Mechs we currently possess something which will be added to our current GSP stacks? People with large piles of GSP should not suddenly find them massively reduced, given that I saw my own GSP (and some other resources) not get import copied for the PTS session run!

We tried this and it was horrible. Making players fix their own orphaned nodes would have been the worst possible option.
This automatic Orphan relock and refund is the best option to keep player skill trees intact and allow them to reskill on a mech by mech basis.

This 5 GSP per mech injection is on top of what you already have.

PTS is snapshot of live data from a point in time with us modifying values for testing purposes. Its pretty clearly stated in the PTS news post that Live and PTS do not carry purchases earnings or changes over.

As Mitch Hedberg so expertly observed "My friend showed me a photo and said "Here's a picture of me when I was younger". Every picture is of you when you were younger."

The test server did not copy your resources, they gave piles of MC, C-Bills, and GSP to everyone to play with.

I don't know why anyone would lose General Skill Points, nothing would use them and they are already there, so no copying involved. You will get an injection of mechs owned x 5 GSP. That's it.

were there any attempts to reduce the number of orpaned nodes or will it be the same as on pts? it seemed that some nodes could have been swapped to keep the unlocked nodes as contiguous as possible.

Wow, MWO/PGI so player/customer friendly?
I'm not used to this!
Please note that I'm *not* complaining! ;)

*Thank you PGI & MWO* !
