GROUPS IN QUICK PLAY

The Max Group restrictions in Quick Play stopped being enforced in the June 21st patch, this issue has been fixed with the July 19th patch. As of the July 19th patch, The Max Group Restrictions Variable will be exposed for future tuning. The default setting will be set back to Max 5 people in groups as of the July 19th patch. Max Group Restrictions 5 means each team can have can have:
  • one 4-player group, or
  • one 2-player and one 3-player group, or
  • two 2-player groups

BUG FIXES

  • Hill Climb nodes now function as intended and will reduce the slow down rate of your mech when going over sudden changes of ground slope (rocks, uneven terrain, small hills, steps, etc.). This node was acting in reverse previously.
  • Clan Ultra Auto Cannon 10 now deals full 10 damage instead of 9.9999, which allows it to destroy a UAV within optimum range in one shot.

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_405.zip

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

The commando 1B not the 1D my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined....... What does a guy have to do to get a commando 1D with 30% Cbill boost.

Glad to see OP lights finally nerfed to the ground!

Buffing the best weight class - Assaults - with a 80% increase in armor skill tree? Is the Cauldron giving up on maintaining even the appearance of trying to balance?

Can anyone tell me what this "v1.4.264.0 - July 18th, 2022" Patch will mean to a Win7 user who can't hang onto their MWO connection and has zero issues with their computer other than MWO acting up badly since the "Error 13" Patch and the "v1.4.261.0 - June 21st, 2022" Patch both landed??? I can not upgrade or get a new system regardless of what I do, this issue has been acting like an ocean wave on steroids, and I'm beginning to feel like PGI's MWO Team does not want part of their player base anymore! :(

I saw the cover picture of the Commando and thought they might get some quirks this patch.

Sadly no. The 2D is ok, but The Death's Knell needs some love.

Holy IS Sniper Meta. 25% range boost to La Malinche? So 40% with skills, and who knows what (50%?) on energy weapons with a TC-8. So Gauss Sniping from 2870m, and ERLL from at least 2072, probably closer to 2200. That's literally drop-zone to drop-zone on Boreal Vault, and that's literally every open area on every QP map covered by the optimum range.

When's power creep gonna end?

I have not seem a La Malinche in a long, long time.
I have not played my La Malinche in probably over 2 years. Just looked up my stats for that mech, 3 games played in it total.

I am not at all worried that there are all of a sudden going to be La Malinche's in every match, even with the heavy steroids it just received.

I was expecting that at least some of the ppc or energy quirks would be removed from the Snubzilla in this patch.

Can it be done in a hotfix in two weeks?

It's not that PGI has malicious intent for Win7 users (same with most devs too) it that it's a issue that Win7 13 year old OS that is not even supported by Microsoft anymore, and will continue to have more problems as time goes on. considering this and the fact it's more then likely that MWO's player base majority use Win10-11 and/or Linux, It's not likely in PGI's interests to use (at this point likely limited) resources to support a discontinued Operating system.

What your going thru sounds like it sucks my dude, I hope your situation Improves enough that you can get a system that supports a newer OS. If that does not pan out, while I my knowledge of it is very limited, my guess is Linux may be a cheaper way to solve your issue, I would try to duel boot that and see if that can help. defiantly read up on it or get someone that actually knows what they are doing when it comes to Linux to help you.

So with the buffs next patch, the Jenner IIC-2 has a niche as a heavy medium laser carrier
While there are other mechs in the same speed/weight bracket with 4+ energy hardpoints, there aren't any that are quirked for heavy medium lasers as hard as the IIC-2 will be.

buffs to armor is going to make assaults tanky... I'm interested to see how this plays out. Hopefully it'll stop them from melting instantly in combat.

as a KGC main, this patch is a godsend.

the CT is so big, 90% of the time you get cored without even removing torso armor, thus XL-safe for an assault i guess.

with the snub buff, win rate has taken a huge hit especially on assaults as they can't dodge peekers and leapers, only exposing themselves for 1-2 secs, not enough to aim and trade fire. slow projectiles cant hit these guys e.g. mrms, even ac5 take too long.

lets see how the meta shifts with this patch.

Honestly, they don't, and you're really late to figuring this out. Supporting a bunch of old os's as you make future changes becomes harder and harder, and you end up supporting fewer and fewer. It becomes increasingly frustrating and expensive to make on the game as the ball-and-chain of supporting old stuff (4:3 anyone?), for the incredibly diminishing returns of how few players it supports. As much as you only see it from your perspective of loving a game, and wanting to enjoy it despite limited resources, they see it differently. When you look at the effort to support vs the cost of doing so for so few players, it's not worth it for them at all. Even the steam page's system requirements list 8.1, so you're just lucky it still worked at all until now.

...and what I listed above was my thinking on it 3 whole years ago. now, with the dramatically reduced team size, yeah, it's never going to happen. think of it this way, the team could support windows7 players, or get event queue and the skill tree update. not both. could you in all honestly choose windows7 player support over new features in the game's current state? to intentionally choose supporting a few players on an old unsupported OS as your first priority coding changes after 3 years away?

I couldn't.

Since July 2022 patch has major quirk updates for King Crab: Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

==> Can MWO please help to add into Platinum Collection: (I actually want BOTH):

==> KGC-000B(P), or KGC-001(P), from the Steam Performance Pack and the MW5 Pre-order, please add?

I've bought 9 of the 10 IS/Clan Platinum Collections 01/02/03/04/05.
The only one that I've skipped was the IS Platinum Collection 03, where MWO offered KGC-000,
whereas I've already gotten my KGC-000(L) Loyalty Mech already unfortunately.

Thank you MWO in advance!
