MECHWARRIOR ONLINE LEGENDS
APRIL 2023 PATCH NOTES

Patch Date and Time - April 18th 2023 @ 10AM – 1PM PDT
Version Number: v1.4.276.0
Size: 85 MB
Please note that due to compression differences the Steam patch size may be larger than the standalone client patch size.

Greetings MechWarriors!

April is here, and so are 2 New Legendary BattleMechs, the Shadow Hawk "Scattershot" and the Marauder IIC "Dreadnought", Map Adjustments to Terra Therma Crucible and Free Worlds Colosseum, more 'Mech Quirk Adjustments, some Equipment Adjustments, and Bug Fixes.

As the year progresses, the MWO team continues to work on the next brand new map, update current maps, investigate potential Matchmaker solutions that may improve the overall gameplay experience, investigate Faction Play, New Weapons, look at bringing Drop Decks to Quick Play, bring new 'Mechs into the game, look into overall gameplay balance and player feedback (for example we're currently investigating potential Long Range vs Short Range balance issues), and more. Speaking of the MWO team, we hired a new 3D artist. More on that in May.

Enjoy the upcoming Patch, look out for a post-Patch Science Sale, and jump into some Inner Sphere Heavy 'Mech Solaris Event Queue action this weekend in the meantime!

Updates are subject to further balance changes in the future, so get out there and do the science, and get us your feedback for future iterations.

And now, we really hope you enjoy the patch!
-The MechWarrior Online Team

NEW LEGENDARY BATTLEMECHS
PLEASE NOTE: REDEEM BATTLEPASS REWARDS ON THE WEBSITE STORE PAGE (UPDATED EVERY HOUR)

SCATTERSHOT BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: https://mwomercs.com/legends/scattershot
DREADNOUGHT BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: https://mwomercs.com/legends/dreadnought

Two new Legendary 'Mechs this month include the medium Shadow Hawk "Scattershot", and the assault Marauder IIC "Dreadnought" (see images below). Each 'Mech will sell for $15 USD on the website, and will also be available on Steam. Each Legendary 'Mech is a new variant of an existing chassis, has a custom paint job, an "outlier" quirk, and a 30% C-Bill boost. Also included with each pack is the new mini battle pass system driven by 'Mech XP. Just by playing the 'Mech, you will earn GSP, C-Bills, MC, Premium Time, and exclusive Cockpit Items, Decals, Colors, and Bolt-Ons! However, unlike a typical battle pass system, there will be no expiration date to earn these extra items. Take as long as you need!

SHADOW HAWK "SCATTERSHOT"
NOTE: This 'Mech contains a unique Quirk - Zero Cockpit shake while using Jump Jets!

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_416.zip

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Lol, more spread on the missiles on the scattershot? Thought it was supposed to be less spread... but if it's intentional then sure.

I am VERY satisfied with these new mechs (especially the scattershot). I also like the idea on the Dreadnought because the marauder IIC chassis has gotten VERY boring and underperforming, I hope this will change that

Fafnir armor, see if that helps the rezoning of the CT and torso boxes. Beagle probe slot and weight will be a big help on my IS mechs. well done

i think im gonna get the shadowhawk, it looks cool. i just wish it had armor quirks. gonna be harder to make it work without them. structure is not great, this isnt laser vomit.

What's the "unique outlier" quirk on Dreadnought and Juggernaught?
Scattershot has no JJ shake, although it's not unique and present on Heavy Metal Highlander and Moonwalker has reverse speed increased.

I think it's an extra consumable and strike capacity. Not sure exactly, but that's what I saw on the profile. I hope it's something more than that....

This is a great change to see, I might actually put probe on some IS mechs now.

Hey I don't suppose we could see the IS LB 2-X AC could get it's equipment slots reduced to 2 next month? The fact it's currently 3 slots ends up being arbitrarily prohibitive at times.

Im too pissed off to buy anymore Legendary mechs when you took away 2 slots for arm actuators it ruined the load-outs i liked the most on the Moonwalker you could have added the actuators and just left the slots the same as when i bought the mech. The Moonwalker was not overpowered and i don't appreciate paying $15 USD and a week later it gets nerfed.

So now it sits in my mechbay as a invalid load-out and that's where it will stay until you UN-NERF it.

Comment:So why do we have clan mechs again???

Why do you constantly make clan mechs/tech obsolete???

Explain to me how this helps both sides??
idivudally it's not bad but combining both is.

How do you call this balance...

Let's just give IS clan tech it'll acheive the same result.

What is the logic behind the VT-5S nerfs? Completely removing instead of just halving (if youre tweaking for balanced then dont make huge changes like complete removal of quirks) the SNPPC quirks removes/changes the mechs identity so now its quirked to be a UAC mech and you've kind of invalidated the SNPPC builds on grimmechs...c'mon.

I can't really get myself to play much anymore already, but when drop decks make it to QP that's gonna be my cue to leave.

Why? Adding a drop deck allows players to be more strategic, thus making the game more complex, competitive and enjoyable. I can't count how many times I've loaded up a brawler and Alpine Peaks gets spammed by a group with long range mechs. A drop deck would give players an opportunity to change their mech to something specialized for that map. I see nothing wrong with that.

that's on you for not paying attention. it was made clear before it even released that the lack of actuators was an error and would be fixed.

Yeah, same thing on the LBX quirk, +25% spread on the LBX. Are these intentional to make the weapons worse? Or is this an error? Or maybe unique quirks? Posted Image

Also, Caudron men, I'm interested in hearning why the Wolfhounds are getting nerfed, were they that overperforming?

Then they should have fixed it before i bought the mech not after paying $30 USd for 2 mechs ETC. I don't mind but i don't like paying for a mech and have it nerfed in 1 week.

For gods sake no they have already ruined Solo Que with group play now ruin whats left of faction play also? So lets see we have Faction play all but gone, Solaris ruined and gone, Scouting ruined and gone, 8v8 group play gone, What is left a combination of everything in Solo play? Totally wrong thinking PGI needs to go back and fix all the game modes not get rid of everything What will be left? a chopped up game no one wants to play.
