Now, I know the scattershot was OP, and the nerf was definetly needed, but god y'all went a bit too hard on it. Also, the two new legendaries look very underwhelming, probs gonna just keep my money for this one.

The theme of the scattershot was wide spread, fast fire rate, fast velocity.

Because the spread quirk is percentage based, and LBX2 has a lower base spread, it meant nothing for the main build, and the 50% velocity quirk on top effectively turned the scattershot into a sniper with more range than any other sniper in the game. reaching to 2km with meaningful damage, and high dps.

The nerf has actually been very small when it comes to dps.
Main nerf was to Velocity and small caliber weapon spread (so it's not utilized for sniping). Mech still has its ridiculous dps like before.... and even then, the fastest velocity quirk of all shadowhawks.

Quirks are subject to change, as they always have been. PGI as the developer reserves the absolute right to make gameplay balance changes of any kind at any time. You're not entitled to a specific level of mech performance. Like it or not, that's just the way it is. It's their game and we all are just consumers. They could turn the game off tomorrow and they wouldn't be obligated to refund anything. If you don't like it, don't spend more money than you are comfortable with.

Imagine that a car manufacturer sold you a car and you drove it for a week, then they take 100 horsepower away via over the air update.

Would you be a spoiled-brat to ask for a refund?

No you would be an idiot for buying that car in the first place! LOL! Posted ImagePosted Image

The only reason we didn't adjust the mech 1 day after it came out is because patch cycle is monthly.
And no, we have no way of testing these mechs before anyone else.

Then please go and fix those issues first BEFORE you do any further damage to our beloved game! Posted Image Posted Image

Why are you feeding light mechs so much? I don't understand. If I wanted to play CS, I would just go and play it. I'm not looking for this much speed in this game. You're causing frustration among the majority of players.

Playing in a Light is more like Quake III Arena with all that jumping and wall camping that is going on in most games! Posted Image

There might be concerns about older chasses being left behind. I really don't know how much can be done with things like the Awesome though. Can hardpoints be relocated at all (like, their position on the mech, not like moving a hardpoint from a LA to LT or whatever)?

AWS with higher placed Energy Hardpoints ?!

YES PLEASE!!! Posted Image

You could but that's not an accurate representation of how it will perform in quick play.

Turn on the Public Test Server and you are done! Posted Image

Selling stuff before testing it properly or at least as much as possible is simply idiotic! Posted Image

The WORST thing is You can't test a Mech before it's offered to the MWO Public... Like, the Cauldron can't? Or no one can? This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard... A Game Company, cannot test an asset, or let their "Pet" Cauldron players test it? Really? That's hilariously idiotic... 90% of the Complaints here would not have happened, if someone had tested these abominations before release... Wow... Super sad times for MechWarrior... Good luck selling future Legendary Mech's PGI lol...

Wow, patch note comments take a long time to read through LOL. My 2 cents about selective topics in this encyclopedia size thread:

1. Drop-decks in QP: please don't do drop-decks (respawn). There are matches that I really REALLY don't want to keep going. HOWEVER; I do like the idea of having a drop-deck selection where after the map/game mode is decided you can pick one of your 4 mechs in the deck. +1 to that idea somebody said a million pages ago.

2. Legends: I don't want to keep kicking this dead horse but I understand the opinions being expressed. I like that legendries have the battlepass and are $15. Maybe instead of crazy perks which seem to be leading to feelings all over the spectrum, have the LGD's have a 'safe' outlier perk or equipment unique to the chassis line. Like the DN with high consumables, or JG with masc and being able to put in a 400 rated engine as examples. I would also say beef up the c-bill earned chassis bonus, something like +50%. I know if that was the c-bill boost I would use them a lot more when I need to make some cash fast. Than I would say make up the rest of my $15 with a worthwhile battlepass. No more cookie-cutter cockpit items and meh bolt-ons, make me want to have those visual blockages in my cockpit because they looking F****** Cool! Also maybe add more consumables instead of just one, Maybe do like you get 50 of each kind instead of 100 of just one kind. idk, just thoughts.

3. Arges and ClownCar: Please show some love to the lighter folks and slow the assault LGD assembly line....

4. Patch Notes: Will have to wipe the dust off my SHDs again. For the science sale can The Grey Death be on sale too? I want to get it more out of BattleTech nostalgia than anything Posted Image

5. Final Thoughts: Never played FP but maybe I should try but I'm just a lone merc so that might be a bad idea. I actually really like the scattershot and sure the nerf is what it is, I found using it as a harasser to be TONS of fun. I just put in max JJs and 3 LBX2 and just fly like a 55T shiny soda can annoying the big slow kids in gym class. So at least the 0 screen shack is staying

I'm imagining the Arges running the ANH-1X HGauss/lasers build but a bit less cumbersome, or just a metric ****-ton of ERLL

Seraph probably a LPL/ERML vomit build

What do you think Cauldron is?
You think we get test servers?

lol?

We're a group of players that "suggest" a change, and PGI puts it through. They have their own QA, but it's more on the technical side.
Actual testing of some of these never before done quirks needs a populated 12v12 test server.
And yeah, good luck with that.

Besides that, balance changes in PvP games happen all the time. I'm now curious how many (PvP) fps games MWO community actually played in their lives.

Honestly I'm more looking forward to dual gauss, 7 ERML, 1 LPL. If one wanted to stretch the alpha more they could use an XL engine, but the Cyclops is not a chassis I particularly like to XL. It's a much more standout role. The dual heavy gauss role is already covered well and the Arges in that role would simply be an inferior ANH-1X with a tad bit more speed.

On the Seraph, I think HLL ERML plus dual gauss is a better fit. You run into tonnage constraints and have to give up some speed and armor for the LPLs, but it is doable. It also has the potential to do something like 4 ERLL in the torsos and Dual Gauss with some micros for backup.

I mean, in his defense Navid did say, essentially: "hey if you don't like it, don't buy it" so, there's always that option.

Yeah. If you are buying something because you want it to be overpowered, you are doing it wrong. There is an obligation to balance everything, so in the end you know the plan is always to have the mechs be balanced with the rest of the playing field.

Both of them are very hot mechs. I can describe them as ovens. Unless they make any special modifications, I can predict how it will turn out.

Even when using LRMs on SuperNova, it overheats excessively. Cyclops is already a fully enclosed chassis. Only single-shot weapons that don't overheat too much work well. I'm amazed at how they introduced both of them to the market with lasers.

I dont get it how people can cry that something broken can be nerfed, you expect adventage cause you paid? Just looking at scattershot quirks, its was obvious it couldnt stay like this. You want Legendary Mechs to not heat or have 90% AC/20 cooldown? lol

I think instead of polishing and presenting old mechs, they could develop new and spacious mechs. And no one would object to that. No one would cry for it. Because the essence of a mech lies in its uniqueness. It should be designed and presented as a cold machine. For example, it wouldn't have ballistic capabilities. All mechs have their pros and cons. When you look at them, they are all equal.

I don't think either of the machines would be better than the Blood ASP - PRİME

These machines, despite being inherently powerful, lose due to their geometries. they are weaker than many laser machines in terms of heat. I know that I can defeat both of these machines using the Blood ASP.

They are diminishing the power of the old machines because they are not developing new ones.

In my opinion, the shape is already good enough; they just need to enlarge it and add slots.
