The new map is so pinky. Eyes are bleeding.

Stuck here:

But overall I liked the map. Very variable and interesting for brawlers.

Not to be a party pooper but I'm still seeing IS STD LASER DURATION -25% on the cicada 2b..patch notes say this was to be removed?

CICADA
CDA-2B:
  • Removed -25% STD Laser cooldown
  • Added -25% Laser cooldown
Seems like they changed it from STD cooldown, to all lasers getting the -25% cooldown is all.

Not seeing anything about duration (burntime).

Probably so a build like this works better?
4 ERML + 1 LPL, xl320 and 2 DHS.

or 3 LL or 3 ERLL and a smaller engine.. either way all lasers cooldown -25%.
Gives 2LPL builds a little more DPS too.

BATTLEMASTER
BLR-1D:
  • Added -100% Weapon Jam chance (UAC/RAC)

Ummm... Is this suppose to be 100% reduction? As in... the weapons can't jam at all? Posted Image

I think it's correct as it's a lowering of the original jam chance so from 100% to 0%

this is only for the C-ac10 this does not apply to the C-UAC 10.

So THAT'S why I keep seeing Battlemasters!

Tested it in the Testing Grounds; works as advertised. Heheh. I've got to try this; I mean, it's still a 'mech that GrimMechs doesn't even bother to provide a build for... but maybe it'll be fun.

Yeah I'm gonna call this crossing into the realm of obscenity. Next Solaris Clan Assault event is going to be Koloss and this utter ************.

Hope the cash was worth it.

Ah, that build is slower than snail slime and can barely put out enough damage to kill maybe one light and another assault, even assuming all rounds land on target. I seriously doubt it's going to break the game mode - and even if it does, its inanely low speed and mobility are liabilities that are lethal in a team match. It will be cut to pieces by a pretty large array of Medium 'mechs, for example.

The Gausszilla is a very strong 'mech, combining the Annihilator's excellent hit boxes with the Clans' tiny Ballistic weapons, but I think it's too soon to scream that the sky is falling. Will the chassis likely dominate a 1v1 Solaris tournament? Of course! It'll be the Annihilator and 1-2 other chassis, most like. Just like the Heavy 1v1 was dominated by Crusaders, as I recall. 1v1 combat has ALWAYS been jacked up; that's kinda what happened to the regular game mode after all. That doesn't necessarily mean that the 'mech is just as strong in a small arena as it is when it has to hoof it over rough terrain to get the job done.

No argument about 1v1 being a poor fit for the game. The EQs with the Solaris mode definitely show off the shortcomings.

I am still really wary of this trend.

It bears watching; Making fun 'mechs is fine, and you are going to miss the balance mark sometimes. But it's important that nothing behind a paywall becomes indispensable.

Guys, the Dire Wolf is very viable vs Stone Rhino too!

But yeah, Stone Rhino with Endo/FF + resizable engine really helps to customise your SR!

And all Stone Rhino variants would be available for CBills/MC in a few (long) months ;)

With Clan AC10's getting a nice buff, how about the poor old Annie 1A, pretty sure it's the 1A, with 4 IS AC10's and can't even Alpha it's stock loadout without ghost heat. Time for at least this annie to be able to fire stock loadout without ghost heat hmmm?

Yeah the 1a, the 2a, and the 1x should be able to alpha their ac without ghost heat. Also the mean baby and 1e should be able to use their ppc the same way

Just to clarify, you want to make some of the strongest IS chasses even stronger?

The 1X and 2A can already use their 4 LB10X with no ghost heat.

There's no reason a stock loadout should be able to alpha without heat scale penalties, though. Stock loadouts are designed for the old tabletop game, so these loadouts cannot be any sort of yardstick for balance.

I play stock weapons loadouts. I change a few things engine, heat and armor wise because of the type of game it is. But I am old. I played the tabletop. So wanting a mech to be out of the box viable in its stock weapons loadout isn't asking too much. Some will always be better than others but the annihilator and others like it suffer from low slung arms. That's not a factor in tabletop. There are plusses to it being live action and downsides. I know the majority of players do not feel the same way I do and that's fine. I do pretty well enjoying the game the way I play. I know there are others like me and that's why I asked.

CLAN ER MEDIUM LASER
  • Increased heat penalty multiplier to 2.8 (from 1.4)
CLAN AUTOCANNON 10

  • Increased heat penalty minimum threshold to 5 (from 3) - You can fire 4 without penalty
  • Increased heat penalty multiplier to 24.0 (from 1.0) - Firing 5 or more applies a large penalty
  • Nice Nerf
but it was clear (clan pulled the **** card) especially those who are always in the last row with Erll Laser all used as Meat Child (greetings to Navid)

Navid because I know that you also decide about it, I would be interested in one thing

for so long it has been said that the balance between IS and clan has gotten so good in quick play

if so why is there a weight difference of 120 tons in the FP with 12 players

that could

2 heavy
3 medium heavy can do that or
4 lights

who can decide the whole game in a 12 vs 12 because they make the difference

I would be happy if I got an answer

I'm afraid it is asking too much - exactly because of things like hardpoint placement that don't matter in the tabletop game. You really think you're the only one who ever played tabletop around here? There's a ton of us who have; but tabletop balance (to the extent that clantech v Inner Sphere was ever balanced) won't really translate to this format.

I mean, you can always ask - but the answer will always be the same.

What you're asking for would destroy game balance, and you should not get it for that reason.

Nightstar is finally looking acceptable thanks to this change. When will this happen in MW5?
